Usual pigsty in the background. Including the very sustainable single-use plastic trash bags.

Why on earth did they get more chickens they can't be bothered to care for the ones they already have and now they got more awful.

They might be meat chickens but I fear that they will get attached and then not be able to kill them when it’s time in 8weeks

I think it says something about their work ethic and competence if they are still stuck at the chicken stage. They're too scared to scale up to larger animals (and thank goodness for that).

So far, their year long sustainable homesteading experience has involved a vegetable patch, a chicken coop, and lots of lawn mowing. Looks like a typical urban backyard to me, albeit on a slightly larger scale.

What a clown show.

If they are planning to do IVF, I should have said if Alex is planning IVF, they will have their hands full with hospital visits, etc. The amount of land they have needs to be used. I watch The Hollar Homestead, and they have worked so very hard in a short time, to grow vegetable crops, get poultry, pigs, etc. They have four young sons, who have been willing helpers while their Dad has gutted and built a home from an old static caravan, Mum has had a baby (which in my opinion does not need to be carried or nursed all the time, we were taught to feed, change, and let them sleep). Ben Hollar works constantly, to provide for the family. Hello Phil, are you reading this?

Phil and Alex don’t have the work ethic to actually properly homestead. They just like to pretend play. If IVF goes sideways they will slump int 5 weeks of crying and letting their house turn into a bigger pigsty and the chickens will suffer even more.

I know plenty of people who raise chickens and plant vegetable gardens. Half of them live in subdivisions. None of them would call that homesteading. Hell, my kid did more farming than that at 4-H camp.
And yes, their land will absolutely suffer as they move on to their next ridiculous hobby. My father-in-law manages a community garden and he is there 7 days a week, three times a day, for hours at a time. And he took months of classes to become qualified. There's so much to know about gardening - which plants do well together, which ones don't, what kind of conditions they need to thrive and how much space. Just because you can grow seedlings in a cup doesn't mean your garden will amount to anything.

I’m wondering if Alex is going to try and get a visit from The Style Edit to sort the house out... seems like something she’d do...

Why can Alex not go outside without a cup of coffee in her hand?
That bothers me more than it should 🤣

And if course they are exiting their car at the airport maskless although the luggage service person is right next to them. So considerate and respectful. NOT.

Discarded cardboard boxes, rubbish all over the ground, in the woodpile and on the fence.

These people don't pick up any mess INSIDE their house, so I can't say I'm surprised that they use nature as a trash can.

They're so the type of people that would leave their trash at a public picnic table or park when they are done with it. I wonder how they discarded their trash and disposable plates, cups, and serving ware etc... when they were living in the RV.

Thank goodness Callie is having fun. But I'm sure these photos were posted in response to all our recent comments about them constraining the heck out of this kid.

I was watching their latest vlog and kept sayin “YOU MORONS” over and over that my husband came in and asked what was going on and all he could say was “these people are dumb”

I just wanna take these people and shake them. The meat birds would be totally fine with a heat lamp in a barn...oh they do have a barn....these birds grow so fast that they get lazy extremely quick. And bugs will not be enough to feed them.the meat chickens can be free range but their main objective is too eat a ton and just sit around. They are not breed to be foraging.

It makes me so sad that they just go and buy a live animal without any research

As a parent of children with lung problems, immune problems, and as someone with a chronic autoimmune disease their lack of ability to wear mask gave me too much anxiety. I know they are selfish and only care about themselves but come on...

Alex is the first person I’ve seen do a “9 months in, 9 months out” photo post with a bunch of preggo pics of herself and not include the baby other than maybe 9 minutes after birth.

She did the same thing at 8 months. She really is in love with herself, isn't she? I think if she could experience pregnancy without the baby at the end, she would.

Yes I have been trying really hard to figure out what is like super odd besides the obvious about her as a mother and it's like she tolerates her children but there is like no connection there. Almost like a babysitter and not their mom. I am seeing it with not just her older daughters but also the baby like telling K not to make cassidy cry because she is making her be less clingy almost like she is detached... I don't know maybe I am reading to much into it.

I know what you mean. Alex posted a video after her miscarriage where she was talking about plans to expand their family. She kissed Callie on the head and goes, "We love...children." It was just so odd and forced.
If P&A love kids that much, why aren't they helping in children's ministry? Churches are always short on help in that department and they practically have to twist parent's arms to participate. I have never once seen Phil or Alex volunteer for VBS, work the church nursery, or help with a children's program. It seems like a prime opportunity to show your love for kids. But I don't think they do. Alex just loves being pregnant.

That’s such a good point! And yes now they want a boy and it really seems like Alex needs the “perfect” experience of having a baby that isn’t medically fragile that she can live out this perfect motherhood fantasy she has. I mean, to each their own. I just figured they have their hands pretty full already with their 3 girls and their land. Another baby would be pure insanity but thats what gets the views.
