Alex is the first person I’ve seen do a “9 months in, 9 months out” photo post with a bunch of preggo pics of herself and not include the baby other than maybe 9 minutes after birth.

She did the same thing at 8 months. She really is in love with herself, isn't she? I think if she could experience pregnancy without the baby at the end, she would.
agree. It’s very strange!

I don't think her behaviour is strange at all if you look at it through an NPD lens.
She doesn't love her children like most people do. She thinks she does, and her fans think she does, but she loves how they fulfil HER needs and expectations. She loves what they can do for HER. What attention they bring HER. How they make HER feel. This is not the true love of a parent to a child.
People with NPD are preoccupied with their own needs and desires, with have no care for anyone else. Because Alex's needs and desires centre around some fantasy of being the perfect pastor's wife, she devotes all her time to trying to achieve this - being pregnant, doing IVF, popping out babies, having obedient children that act like angels. Her fans misunderstand this as good and loving parenting, instead of seeing this as pathological.
She loves her kids the same way an insecure guy would stand back and admire his new sports car. The object fills some pathological need they have, and in return, they "love" it.
