You’re welcome! I think it’s important for people to know what is *actually* happening. I think for Kendal it’s a mix of both. I think she does somewhat agree with these things and that she doesn’t get her news from neutral and reputable sources. Like I said, for me, my opinion on this has nothing to do whether I agree with the mandates or not; once they start flying Nazi flags and turning it into a white supremacy rally, I can’t support it. They have raised over $8 million on their go fund me to fund this. There’s claims that they will donate the extra money to veterans but that’s not consistent with the fact they defaced the tomb of the unknown soldier. I’m sure the money will land in their own pockets.Glass Half Full wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:27 amWoaw thanks for that explanation. In Europe we know about the Canadian truckers but didn’t know the damage they were causing. Or at least I didn’t know about the damage they were causing. I can’t believe Kendal is so openly supporting this, especially since her BFF is Canadian (Teri). Do you think Kendal doesn’t know these details because she’s only seeing the stories that suit her cause or that this is actually behaviour that she condones?AlohaPineapple wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 2:13 am
Thank you, thank you! *takes a bow*
100% agree. If you’re a 40-something year old and all your fans are pre-teens/teens, there’s something wrong. They don’t see through her facade like we can. Obviously they’ll agree with her because they know nothing about the world, not enough to develop real understanding of politics. Of course she supports the truckers, they’re anti-vax/anti-mandate. I’m not going to get into the politics but again, this speaks loudly about who she is by supporting this. These truckers have defaced war memorials and a Terry Fox statue (look him up if you’ve never heard of him; he’s kinda a Canadian legend and national treasure and has made a million times more positive impact than Ken ever will), they are flying Nazi flags and confederate flags, there’s a lot of white supremacy rhetoric, breaking into food banks, just generally causing a riot while blocking some highways and the whole street in front of the parliament meaning emergency vehicles can’t get through. She either didn’t read enough about it before developing her opinion OR, by supporting this, she’s co-signing their white supremacy/neo-nazi beliefs. I don’t care whether you’re anti-vax or not; if you can support these atrocities, you really need to do some soul searching… If her audience was adults, she wouldn’t have an audience anymore. She thinks she has such a big impact but she’s just a small fish in a huge pond when it comes to social media.
The weird thing when it comes to Teri is that when she’s been on the vlogs and by her comments on tiktok, she seems to agree with Kendal and her far right republican beliefs. However Teri is super environmentally conscious among other values and definitely comes across as being a liberal (kind of like democrats but less far left). Most Canadian young adults support the liberal party in general. She even seems to be pro-Trump which most Canadian feel very strongly against Trump. Again, nothing to do with my political views, it’s just very inconsistent. It makes me wonder if she just goes along with Kendal’s political opinions so to not anger her and ruin their friendship. Politics, especially in the US, are so polarizing that I could imagine Kendal ending her friendship over them being a Democrat and her a Republican.
