Yay Aloha, great to have you back! Yep, you’ve made all the same observations as the rest of us. This was a trip for Kendal. She just didn’t want to go alone. She’s definitely the only one who’s still Disney obsessed. Thanks for the insight into Disney hotels. We go to Disneyland Paris reasonably frequently and we NEVER stay in the budget hotels. I’m sure they’re fine but they just don’t exude the disney magic that we enjoy. In Orlando we’ve never stayed in a disney hotel. We always rent a house because we usually stay for more than a week. I’m sure they would rather go to universal considering brin and Kap discussed wanting to go in Brin’s birthday wishlist but it’s clear we’re always watching the Kenny show. Last thought, the fact they pretend Pop Century is their favourite and they go there by choice is laughable. I’ve stayed at Pop, it’s really not bad but it’s nothing super exciting. For those unfamiliar with WDW, they have different “levels” of resorts and Pop is in the bottom/cheapest tier; it’s a value resort. They don’t love POP, they just can’t afford anything better. There’s some resorts at the next level, moderate resorts, that aren’t that much more expensive that are much nicer but if they aren’t staying there… well… we all know why. It’s the same thing with restaurants. They miss out on ALL the good food because they only ever eat at “fast food” Disney restaurants because they’re too cheap and they can’t plan ahead enough to get a reservation. Some of these restaurants are as fun and exciting as a ride or other Disney experiences. They always say they know how to do Disney the “right way” because they’re “locals” but I wouldn’t take their Disney advice ever.
Plus, why are they going to Disney now when Summit is coming up in a few weeks and they’ll be at Disney again? I guess Kenny can never get enough Disney but the girls at least are over it. Maybe instead of planning a surprise girls weekend based off what Kendal thinks is fun, maybe she should let B&K choose. We know that’ll never happen though. Even if she let them choose, she’s end up pressuring them to go to Disney anyways. I wonder what’ll happen when Daniel is working all week considering their passes are only for during off days during the week? Will they get more expensive passes or make Danny boy take days off to go? Time will tell.
I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it a million more: this family has the weirdest toxic family dynamic I’ve ever seen. This is the sole reason why I watch them; I love psychology and their channel makes for a great case study. Thanks for listening, this is what my brain needed right now as I go through this “down” part of my life.
Don’t forget they go to magic kingdom because that’s where Kendal feels the real Disney magic. And while there they eat fast food, Starbucks and basically anything cheap. I’m sure this is the real reason why Kendal is t reviving her Disney vlog. She can’t actually afford to do anything while in Disneyworld and certainly can’t afford to visit Disney in any other country or state or go on a Disney cruise. They don’t stay in nice hotels. They don’t ride the rides. They don’t eat in good restaurants. They don’t buy Disney merchandise. He is "not allowed" to put up his own hurricane shutters even though it would probably only take about twenty minutes with an electric drill. Does he even own an electric drill? We've never seen him get down with the kids play with Legos or any other building toy. He doesn't seem to have any hobbies where he'd have an outlet for his unused engineering skills. If you want to prove me wrong, you could probably look to see if there are any patents listed in his name but I don't think you will find anything.
I think Kendal is probably driving the minivan because she doesn't have control over the finances. She probably has a business credit card that she can use for vlog specific purposes that can be written off and a very low limit credit card for personal expenses. Given what she said and what Josh said about the channel's revenue (Josh estimated as much as eight figures in the last six years based on view counts. Check the 27 minute mark of his video), I'm wondering if she's even aware of what the family's balance sheet looks like. She might seriously be receiving an allowance and a pat on the head like a 1950s housewife. Maybe that's part of what's feeding her nastiness.
Yeah, I'm with you. We all know Kendal is the boss in that house. FAR from "1950s housewife" anything. Kendal's spending was insane when they had money, and remains reckless now. She definitely has full control over finances and can swipe her card as she pleases. Just look at her at Disney and the mall. Obviously we'll have no clue what Daniel made as a CAT (caterpillar) engineer back in NC, but my estimate would be around $130k. Even if he found a job like that in FL, I still think the Youtube would have to be going to be comfortable. A 130k salary for 7 people, pets, Kendal's Disney habits, and their 715k house doesn't mix. Kendal wouldn't be able to totally quit Youtube. After taking the last three years off to go shopping, I'm not betting Daniel would find any job higher than around the 150k range pay-wise, even with the experience. Their area isn't exactly an engineer job haven, either. Also, we have no clue what the experience really meant as far as how high level it was. Also- I’m not sure what website you found that info on but how would anyone know what Daniel makes? I doubt he’s out there posting his salary somewhere and it’s not coming from the IRS so chances are what you saw is not accurate and most likely is totally made up. Second, there are so many types of engineers aside from mechanical and electrical. We don’t know what kind of “engineer” Daniel is. Also, what does having a patent have to do with being an engineer? I have several friends who are engineers and none of them have patents.
Daniel is a total dud of a human but if you recall he has mentioned that he worked for the same company for 20 years before he quit- since he was in college. Kendall mentioned the name of the company is Caterpillar. I doubt with a big corporation like that you’re not getting paid at least 6 figures after 20 years.
