Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
I am happy for Skyler. Jamie just seems so controlling and he's so happy now. I don't know how the quints will feel about their mom but I think it's clear that their dad will always put them first and do whatever he can for them.
Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
Kiddo look to have some very exciting adventures with their dad.
Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
Looks like Skyler's brother left the mormon church. they have a youtube on it
Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
Wow Skyler’s brother is queer .. could this be the reason Jamie & Skyler split as I can see Jamie is very much a LDS devotee !

Was it really necessary to show a child's poopy underwear in a video????
Yes the offending stain was blurred out, but why hold up the undies then proceed to name and shame the child on camera and then discuss his bowel habits?

Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
The Christmas presents vlog with Jamie was a cringefest. The boy quints Lincoln and Logan are bratty, rude, unappreciated and have no manners. From Logan pounding down the teddy bear claiming it wasn't a Christmas present and saying he doesn't like his presents with a snotty attitude. To Lincoln throwing his beautiful quilt blanket on the floor going for his next present saying "I hope I get a toy". And saying "eww blech" throwing his pajama set and teddy bear over the couch. Instead of correcting them Jamie and the other adults laugh like idiots as if what they were doing was cute and funny.

Re: Five Two Love: The Scott Quints
So, I used to watch this family here and there but then lost interest after they went to Disneyland during the height of Covid like a bunch of ignorant thoughtless idiots. For a bunch of toddlers that wouldn't even remember the experience, no less
So they've gotten divorced. Interesting.. considering how heavily frowned upon such a thing is in the Mormon community. Something very big has to happen for it to be even considered an option. Even infidelity and abuse isn't enough of a reason for most of them. My best guess is that it has something to do with sexuality/gender identity and/or leaving their faith.
I checked out the recent video where he talks about the divorce, feeling vulnerable, and getting therapy. That's pretty self aware for a Mormon man lol maybe he's the one questioning the religion.
Then I got recommended a video by a couple speaking about leaving the Mormon Church. I didn't know he had a sibling on YouTube but figured it out by their similar appearance lol
Wow! I can't imagine how difficult it must be for Shay, the brother, to have struggled with his gender dysmorphia and depression from such a young age. It's hard for anyone, let alone someone raised in that circle. And he was continuously let down by his parents when he reached out for help. How very sad :/
What particularly shocked me was when he said that, along with believing he would become a major church leader, his parents also believed he would become a prophet. That he was one of the prophets foretold in the book of revelations who would lay dead in the streets for 3 days during the war of Armageddon. What the actual fuck??
From the countless stories I've read about people leaving religions like Mormonism and IBLP/Fundamentalism, It doesn't seem like leaving is easy at all. Not only are you leaving the faith, but you're also leaving your family and community. Plus, the Church itself makes it very hard to leave too by making it this whole process and constantly sending people after you to try and "counsel" you back in.
It's very brave for him and his wife to have taken those steps, despite all the indoctrination and uncertainty. I think they're very lucky to have each other!
Some of the stuff they said in the video that I really liked:
"Going through a faith deconstruction is like standing at the edge of a cliff that you've been told all your life that you would die if you jumped from."
"What is sacred to some, comes at a cost of trauma to others who do not fit the privileged narrative.”
"When I held up this fragment of my shattered testimony, I concluded that It had the fingerprints of men on it for me and not the fingerprints of the divine"
"We want to teach our kids to never stop asking questions and that a faith that can't be questioned is probably not a faith worth having. And when it comes to humanity, I hope that they'll be curious rather than judgemental."
"What a miracle it is to exist at all. And maybe the point of all of this is just to experience heaven right now.”
All in all, a very well done video. I wonder if Skyler and Jamie have watched it. And I wonder if Skyler has similar struggles with faith and possibly also his sexuality and/or gender. Perhaps he supports his queer ex-mormon brother and that's what caused a rift between him and his wife.
Jamie is so hard to read. She always seems to be in a foul mood and has this uppity off-putting attitude. I try to give the benefit of the doubt - we don't know what happens behind closed doors. It's possible he's abusive or that she was suffering from PPD. Perhaps off-camera he's not an involved dad and a majority of the parenting duties fall on her. Maybe he cheated and she had to tolerate it like a good Molly Mormon but was secretly resentful.
Idk, they both seem happier apart but she's still got that attitude to her. I think she's just more introverted and reserved and that sometimes can come across as being standoff-ish. To be honest, I mostly just feel she's full of herself and an unpleasant person behind that dead-eyed smile.
But if Skyler's Queer/Ex-Mo brother is a problem for her and part of the reason they separated, then she's truly awful and an absolute C U Next Tuesday.
