My daughter is 8 months old today (yay!), and still exclusively breastfed. Never had a bottle or pacifier, not yet on solids as she shows no interest, and nurses every 2 hours approximately. Yeah.. I would use a back-up method, though. Not every woman is the same and a friend of mine at her 5months PP check-up was told that she was ovulating. Even if her period didn't come back so soon. Which was good to know and a big scare for her, since she was relying just on that for b/c. She was breastfeeding on demand, no pumping, no being away from the baby for more than 2hours.. Still, I don't know if there are different conventions and advice in different countries. I'll just say that.

Why I haven't gone on any birth control (condoms for me). I'm scared my milk supply would dry up.

Sorry to be off topic but has anyone used the implanon for birthcontrol? The rod that goes in your arm, I go in tomorrow for my 6 week postpartum appointment. It seems like the best option but im worried about messing up my milk supply, and im worried about seeing a commercial in a few months about horrible side afftects and sueing the company like almost every other birth control so far!

The implanon is the same formulation as the Depo shot. It's very high in hormones and I had a horrible experience with the shot in high school a decade ago... I wouldn't use the implanon if you haven't at least tried the shot once to see how your body reacts to it. The shot lasts for 3 months, so if you have a bad reaction you have to wait for 3 months for it to get out of your system... as for the implanon, if you have a bad reaction they have to dig it out of your arm and then you have to wait for the hormones to leave your system. I thought about doing the implanon, until they told me it's the same as the shot and then I changed my mind big time!

No, not everyone is the same, I agree. But for the mostpart, adhering to those "rules" offers the same protection as the pill, or other types of birth control.

Abstinence is the only 100% foolproof way to avoid possibly getting pregnant. Any other method is only "so good".

And, to swing things back on topic, abstinence is not something I can see Lindsay practicing...

LOL! I'm crazy birth control lady over here. My boyfriend and I REALLY don't want kids for a few year (I have an 8 year old and a 2 year old) so we do NFP and condoms. I'm going back on the pill in a couple of weeks and we are still using condoms around the time I would normally ovulate because we aren't taking ANY chances. If I end up pregnant, it will be the biggest freak accident ever.

How do you know she doesn't? Why should she have to anyway? As long as she's protecting herself, being in a relationship is great and so is sex.

I agree. Her sex life isnt anyones business. You dont know her sex schedule and I dont know why you would be assuming about that type of thing anyway lol.

Having sex isn't her problem, protection is. She needs to be on birth control and use condoms every time she has sex. If she is being a good mom who's always there when her kids need her then finding the time to actually have sex should be difficult.

Having sex IS the problem how else are babies created? immaculate conception? No the penis being inserted into the vagina..thus being penetrated..thus becoming sex. Lindsey problem is the lack of responsibility by the choices to have sex. Not only sex is the problem, lindsey's lack of brain.

She is a Uber-prolifer and she is against the day after pill, so no condoms, because they can be risky if they break.
You CAN wait for a month or two until one method of b/c kicks in. If you want to be super-extra careful.

Jared has every right to be judgmental about Lindsey getting pregnant again, right after they broke up and to a guy she hadn't been seeing for very long. It was unfortunate, and it wasn't the best of circumstances. Even she admitted that. She still lived at her mom's, she hadn't finished college, etc. She couldn't provide for the child she already had, so she had no business having another (and by provide, I don't just mean clothing and food). I wonder how she would've felt if Jared had done the exact same thing? She'd be furious.
