This is a little random but I just started watching this channel today..do they live in a studio style house? From the few videos I've watched of them it seems like their house is just one big room..maybe I am seeing it wrong though. Does she have a house tour video?
They used to live in a converted garage of her parents rented house. Now they live in the master suite of another house, again, shared with their family.

That vid was beautiful and I'm really glad for them after the losses they've had. Oliver is such a cutie.

I usually only watch the vlog channel which is mostly Misty, so I've never really seen her hubby, and he's kind of annoying :\

It can be a sign the baby is in distress. The same thing happened with my daughter, she was prem though, my waters had broken and because I was only 33 weeks I was admitted to hospital to wait until I went into labour or my baby because distressed or I got an infection (i was on antibiotics to stop that though) and she stopped moving, her heartbeat was ok but she wasnt moving, so I was induced.
So yeah it's a sign the baby isn't coping, it's their way of saying they want out.

It was the nurse who said not to go and wait
No, it was the on-call midwife that told her to wait.
hospitals have an on-call midwife? Is that an american thing? Awesome.

I definitely teared up when they said a prayer before she went in to surgery...and again the second time I watched it! Oliver is so cute and I'm so happy that he is here safe and sound, and so is Missy.

I can't believe Bryan actually had the vlog up today. That is dedication!

I feel bad for Missy not getting her vaginal delivery. I'm sure she was looking forward to it and I was looking forward to watching a whole labor vlog!

I don't know if it really was a "near death" delivery like someone called it above ^^ but it definitely seemed stressful. It didn't seem like Oliver was close to dying, just that they wanted to get him out sooner rather than later. It appeared that he had some difficulty breathing or something like that soon after he came out. I guess we will find out when she does her labor and delivery story. But yes, for future pregnancies, Missy will probably be very worried as she nears her due date. Good going for her for listening to her instincts!

They seriously moved and got Oliver's room together just in time!!

I'm excited how their vlogs change now that that Ollie is here.

I hated it though, when Missy called Labor and Delivery and the on-call midwife was like "I don't know who told you to do kick counts more than once a day..." That just seemed snooty to me. She was obviously concerned (with good reason: a previous stillborn) or she wouldn't have called. And it doesn't make any sense for a midwife to tell her there's nothing to really worry about, even if she hasn't felt a kick in hours. Who cares what time of day she normally does her kick counts? If she's going hours at time with hardly any movement, that seems like something to get checked out. Especially with Missy's history. It kinda just made me want to tell that midwife off for her! Good thing Missy went in anyway.

I don't know about in the states, but in Australia after a csection you usually stay in hospital about 4 days. 24 hours for a vaginal birth and about 4 days section.

I wasnt even in the hospital 48 hours after my c-section. Had my baby at 10:53pm, was up walking the next morning, went home the morning after that. Hopefully they will be like that with her!

I stayed 2 days after my first and left the next day after my second. Both c-sections.

I felt really bad for Missy when she was having her c-section, She looked like a little kid, scared to death!

Why only midwives? Just because Missy had a shitty experience with an on call midwife doesn't mean all others are like that. I had a horrible experience with an OB not listening to my instincts. I was essentially mocked and treated like an idiot, but low and behold, I was right. Do you know who was my biggest advocate? Yep, a midwife at the hospital. Does that mean all OB's are like that? No, not at all. There are going to be unprofessional and ignorant people in every part of the medical field. That doesn't mean that everyone in it is going to be the same, and it's unfair to judge a group based on an individual's actions/behaviour.

The best statement for this type of situation is that you shouldn't let ANYONE trump your maternal feelings. Be it a midwife, GP, or OB.

Who performed the c-section? A doctor that she just met? AWKWARD! That's why I will NEVER see a midwife.

I don't see why it matters, at some hospitals it's never a guarantee who will deliver your baby. If your dr isn't on call then whoever is there delivers. With my almost 3 yr old, I was an OB patient but the on call was in a c section so the on call midwife delivered, and honestly I LOVED my midwife delivery!

In Australia we have pretty much only midwife care, unless you specifically hire an OB, but at the hospital all of your pre-natal care (and some check ups with your GP) and delivery and post-natal care is from the midwives.
I've loved both of my births with midwives, I wouldn't change them. The only thing I would change is that I wish I had the same midwife for my second that I had with my first because she was awesome.

I think I started crying when Bryan was showing the baby to everyone on the phone. That's when I lost it. :|

That is stupid logic. With my first, I was seeing an obgyn practice with 5 doctors in it and you were required to see each one at least once during your pregnancy. Seems like a good deal right? Well until I thought I was in labor on a Saturday night and we called and found out that every other Saturday my whole ob office took off and some randoms from another ob office covered for them. They never told us this nice peice of info and had I really been in labor, I wouldn't have known the person that delivered me.

If you have a one ob practice, there is also a chance the ob won't get there in time...or there is a chance your ob on call is attending another birth at the same time you are pushing. So midwife or ob...regardless it is no guarantee you will be delivered by the person you see.

Oh and my midwife birth and pregnancy was the best ever...they actually listened to what I wanted, not like the ob who was in a hurry to get out of there after I delivered.
