Most kids are ok in a situation where their parents are present. However in a situation where they aren't sure what is going on they probably would be scared to be left alone with her for hours.
Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
I'm sorry, but that picture.....that woman is as attention seeking as Lucy.
Look at me, look at me, I can carry two babies at once!

Haha, i do this daily when both kids are being clingy, with a larger child too. Do I win in the one-upping awards? Lol.thegooseiscooked wrote:I'm sorry, but that picture.....that woman is as attention seeking as Lucy.

It seems like that's all these YT mums ever do! Is try to one-up themselves over all the other mums.
It also looks like Lucy read here, and did a straight out video response with all of the things she was "asked" in her Q&A.

Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
None of my 4 children would be okay with someone they didn't know putting them in a wrap and wearing them. In fact, my 19 month old takes a very long time to warm up to people and would NEVER let someone she didn't know well come into our home and just pick her up. Ever. She doesn't even like people she doesn't know well talking to her or getting too close to her (stores are nightmares because people seem to flock to her curly hair, then want to talk to her) and if they do she freaks out and starts gripping me crying. I'm not trying to argue but, most children would not be comfortable with someone they don't know well just picking them up and holding them, unless my 4 children are just strange little creatures... which is quite possible tooQueenBooBoo1216 wrote:Most kids are ok in a situation where their parents are present. Wow, that doula is on a pretty wicket.
$500 odd for a basic birth package? For that price, I would jump in the pool too (I would have taken off my cardigan first though). I'd even provide kisses and cuddles, my hubby did this for free. This is a major business opportunity that I've missed!
This is the problem with the "natural birth" craze sweeping the world. Women have been doing it since time began but now you get to pay $500 to have someone encourage you with " You can do it!".

Yes, you have officially one-upped. With your own kids, it's much less easy to smile about it.Chatabox wrote:Haha, i do this daily when both kids are being clingy, with a larger child too. Pretty sure that's the going rate?
Here in Australia you're looking around the 900-1200 for a qualified doula and around 200 for a student.
I wanted a doula with my second son (vbac) however my partner wasn't on board with it so I never went anywhere with it. Got my vbac with my magnificent partner who is 10x better birth partner than any doula could be.
However if we ever have a third we will have a doula purely due to my partner who does fly in fly out and if I happen to go into labour whilst he's away at least l have some support from the doula.

Really? By your third, don't you kind of feel you could do it with your eyes closed now? I kind of feel like our midwives are so excellent, I could do it alone. (Loving the number of Australians on here now, being a FIFO widow, can I assume you are either to the extreme north or extreme west of me.)

Yes, very hard to smile when you have 25+ kg of child clinging onto back and front for extended periods of time, just 'cause. Although they are cute sometimes. My 3yo just decreed that its Mama's birthday, and provided me with an invisible cake.. Candles and all!thegooseiscooked wrote:Yes, you have officially one-upped. I could. However living extremely rural and of course the vbac thing, it's always good to have that support who knows what you want. Who can let you focus so you dobt have to deal with the modwives 100%. Tbh. I think I'd be scared delivering on my own haha.thegooseiscooked wrote:VolcomCherry wrote:Pretty sure that's the going rate?

And you're right! Over in the west!

*sniggers* I know a lot of kiwis who wouldn't be impressed with that!thegooseiscooked wrote:Kiwis are honorary Australians. Look at Russell Crowe!

Lol, I don't really like Russell Crowe either. He's still the punk from Neighbours to me.

No offence to anyone who has done this but what is the point in having a print of your placenta, exactly? After birth my MW offered me a look of my placenta, it looked gross. Yes it has kept my baby alive for 9 months, but would I want a print of it framed on my wall? No.

I think the only gross part to me about it, is that it's not ink they use on it. They make the print with the blood it's covered in.SherbertConfetti wrote:No offence to anyone who has done this but what is the point in having a print of your placenta, exactly? I don't knock anyone for doing it. I don't find it gross other than the blood issue.
I think they do it as like the "tree of life" or something like that, because it gave the baby life.

Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
Here's a recap for the ones that I watched - I didn't watch them all; I just couldn't:
*which before I get started, I will admit that it was funny that in her L&D story she said that the kids couldn't play unsupervised because of peer pressure, etc but they are playing unsupervised in the other room while Joel and she makes these thousand different videos? Seems contradictory to me...
Do we want more kids?
Joel doesn't. He is 100% positive of that. And apparently says it everyday. Lucy is not done and she doesn't think that she ever will be done. If Joel doesn't get the big V, he is the stupidest man alive.
Will we share all birth photos & video footage?
You have already all seen her vag in all its glory - what else is there to see? And, of course, she would show this footage because it's a potential $$ maker and she has to use it to be able to write it off on her taxes, I bet.
Why not name her Rainbow?
Supposedly both of them are against it. You can tell that Lucy is not 100% against it but she says that she couldn't imagine a 40 year old named Rainbow, however she already said that Rainbow is going to be this child's nickname forever... I don't personally see the difference.
Did we do the belly casting?
No, they didn't. She looks upset by it, but Joel told her that they are just sitting in the closet with nothing done to them. Supposedly she wants to do some artsy fartsy thing to them that she 'can't find anyone to do for the price that she wants to pay'.
Is my doula my friend outside of my birth?
She didn't say yes until the very last second of the video. There was a lot of hemming and hawing around about it, so I wonder if there is something going on. She has taken a picture with this person outside of her birth, so I don't know what the big deal is. Just say yes. She said they are a part of the same 'birth network' which I don't understand because other than being a frequent patient to the birth network here in DFW, Lucy shouldn't belong to a birth network since she isn't a midwife, doula, doctor, photographer, or videographer...
Do the rainbow shoes fit?
No. I don't recall these shoes for some reason... probably in one of her million hour long updates that I refused to watch...
Was Joel Jealous of our doula (feel replaced)?
Yes he was. But according to him, he 'got over it' once he realized that he needed to take care of the kids, handle the cameras (yes, those were his words and not my interpretation), etc.
That was all I could stomach. She is posting more videos today, one of which is going to tell us the name (hopefully). Well it's either going to tell us the name, or tell us that they still don't have a name for that poor child.
All in all she doesn't seem as excited about this birth as she has been for the last two. I think even though she got everything that she wanted, i.e. water birth, totally on video, surprise gender, etc. I think that it still didn't totally satisfy her for some reason. I am honestly amazed that her labor disappointment hasn't been blamed on someone else by now. Because if you will notice a pattern she had someone to blame for something during all of her other births until now. It just seems like she isn't happy right now and it could be because it sounds like they are having daily arguments/conversations about whether they want more kids. I am confused by that because when I had a newborn the last thing that I wanted to talk to anyone about was having more kids...
