She is so stuck in her hard headed, onesided way of thinking that she wouldn't even make a good doula or midwife to other women. She is the definition of narcissistic personality to a T!

I think Lucy was completely blindsided. She was minding her business and the lady was inappropriately interrupting and putting her nose where it didn't belong. She audibly asked her to leave, which is against the law. She didn't suggest she go to a room. Even if she did, she can request all she wants, but if the nursing mother says no, she needed to back off. I'm with Lucy on this and so damn glad she didn't stop nursing...I'm anxious to hear the explanation.

Her desperation and overall need for attention has escalated to a whole other level. If she's willing to pick a fight over BF in public while holding her newborn then what are we in store for in the next few videos? Those kids have a long difficult life childhood ahead of them, especially when Lucy can't get pregnant anymore and has nothing to BF.

I must be missing something. Is breast feeding something new? I hate how all these wannabe crunchy moms treat breast feeding like its a new concept. I think asking her to leave was probably not the best idea, but Lucy should have taken the high road. However, we all know she can't do that since she flipped her family off in a video before.

I think this was obviously done for more money and attention. If you read the comments on the news article someone posted, you'll see Lucy left a comment and it says that this was the second time she was asked to leave.

What I think happened-- In the interview, Lucy's friend said that someone stopped her outside while she was nursing and told her she had to cover. The friend probably told Lucy exactly what happened and Lucy saw an opportunity. Lucy went to the front desk (while nursing) and asked about a class schedule. Joel probably already had his camera ready to go. Lucy knew someone had already confronted her friend about needed to use a cover, so Lucy knew someone would say something to her. I DO NOT agree with the employee telling her to leave or cover. I live in Texas and I cannot imagine adding anymore clothes in this heat. However, I do think that Lucy saw an opportunity to make a scene and make some money during World Breastfeeding Week. Just my 2 cents..

The first thing I want to know is who alerted the news media? Maybe Lucy can answer that in a 40 second Q&A video.

I also read the news story and the comments and there is now a nurse-in scheduled at the rec. center on Aug. 10. Lucy is quite the puppet master.

I agree with Flossy77, ladybug and ohgoodness. Lucy was hoping for a confrontation, if not there then at Target, so she had something to post and go viral for World Breastfeeding Week. I think what the employee did was wrong, but I also think Lucy should have been more discrete. Lucy was at or near a service desk. Most people would consider it rude to be eating food while conducting business at a service desk, even as a customer. Yes, an infant needs to nurse when its hungry, but there were options in this case since Joel was with her. Joel could have dealt with the class scheduling at the desk while Lucy stayed off to the side from the major traffic area to nurse and watch the kids.

I am still breastfeeding my 26 month old. We don't nurse in public as often as we used to because my daughter can go longer between nursings, but when we do I try to be as descrete as possible. I could never use a cover because my daughter either overheated so much she would cry uncontrollably or else she would just tear it away. I never nursed while walking around and never in a high traffic area, and I never nursed in a restroom. (I did nurse in my car when I felt too uncomfortable to do so in a store.) I have NEVER been told to stop or leave, and NEVER witnessed any negative reactions to exposing what little breast I did to feed and comfort my child. Maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe it's my area. I don't know.

This is what I heard (I too listened to it numerous times):

Lucy: I was kinda hoping something else would pop up for September
Employee: You lookin’ to do classes?
Lucy: Yes, ours got cancelled.
Employee: Ok. Basically right now I’m going to ask you to leave.
Lucy: You cannot do that.
Employee: I can.
Lucy: You cannot.

Thank for quoting the conversation. I couldn't make out any of the conversation at all. All I could hear were noisy kids in the background. I assume most were the Eades kids, given their close proximity to Joel's camera phone/iPad.

I find it interesting how someone can say 'well I breastfeed my child, yet I can step away from the crowd...' that is exactly what the problem is! Feeding your hungry child should never be an issue. It needs to be taught to children how natural and beautiful breastfeeding is...not shield them from it or expect a nursing mother inconvenience herself in order to make some ignorant people feel more comfortable. My kids would never even do a double take at a woman nursing. They were all nursed to at least 3 years old and know it's normal. My oldest is nearly 19 and he would stand and have a conversation w a woman while she nurses and it never would cross his mind that she is being sexual or inappropriate. I'm proud I taught my kids to be open minded. I'm proud I never made a big deal about nursing so they know it's as normal as breathing. People need to stop being ignorant about something so natural. It's sad that there has to be clubs and groups and laws made for women to feed their children the way nature intended. If you can nurse on a schedule, fantastic, good for you. I nursed all of mine on demand. If I was in line at the grocery and my child needed to nurse (even at age 3) you better believe I did just that without giving it a second thought. It's unbelievable to me that people think nursing is disgusting or inappropriate...rant over! Lol

She makes the news and now they're suddenly doing VEDA...no coincidence there! August is going to be a big ole payday for them with the news stations and every pro-breastfeeding individual/group on FB promoting their "reality show."

And I see nothing wrong with where or how she's nursing. I've exposed my boob to nurse countless times over the past 3+ years and have never gotten any comments or negativity. This is a dream come true for Lucy, I'm sure, but not really something you can plan...just luck of the draw. And if Joel is anything like my husband his dang cell phone is never far away, lol, and with an iPhone it's easy to turn the camera on in seconds from the lock screen.

My 9 year old daughter is the same around nursing women but some of her friends seem uncomfortable when they see me or other women nursing. Children should never be taught that breastfeeding is a shameful act.

Even if it was planned who cares? That should never have happened! Every woman has the right to feed her baby however she sees fit and if she chooses not to cover her baby up to feed it that is her prerogative

This was the 2nd time we were approached (same lady, same day) & she gave us notice prior to addressing us the 2nd time that she wasn't done speaking to us. First time we were addressed prior to even walking in the building. She stopped us at the doors. Youtube/Blog was never mentioned to news. They found it on their own. Also, the private room offered was a restroom. No thanks. We there for a reason and going to the restroom or any other room would have defeated our purpose of going as my 2 yr old daughter had a class to attend that required my assistance.
