Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
I agree... Thankfully the shit she eats isn't damaging to Oliver's breastmilk. I'm interested to see how their eating out constantly works when Oliver is a toddler. Is Missy going to prepare him these "all natural/organic/crunchy" whatever meals and then have him watch her and Bryan chow down on burritos???

One of my pet peeves, well more so of just something that irks me - I hate when grown women wear pigtail braids, and pigtails. lol
Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
They already switched from homemade baby food to pouches when they said they wouldn't. It's only a matter of time before he's eating bits and pieces of what they order at restaurants/fast food places. Yes even french fries, Bryan Ugh that Twitter post is what put a bad taste in my mouth.

They've already fed him chocolate pudding at dinner during Playlist!

Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
I know the evidence suggests that Missy's diet isn't going to affect Ollie in terms of her breastmilk's containing the right nutrients for her baby (I think in general the baby will get what he needs at her body's own expense, right?)) but I'm still really skeptical. There was a case of a woman who was imprisoned for overdosing on morphine and the morphine went to her baby through breastfeeding and the baby died. Now I know that a pizza definitely isn't comparable to morphine so please don't jump down my throat, but I just wonder if the number of chemicals and artificial ingredients in all the junk they eat (which is honestly part of most American foods) do negatively affect not only the mother but also the baby. And it's not just food but also cosmetics and other beauty products. I know this is a contested theory, but anyway, it's what I believe. I'm not necessarily implicating Missy more than anyone else because it's just a reality that we all face. Practically all of our food contains artificial ingredients, preservatives, chemical agents (from the packaging/preparation), etc. Practically all of our beauty products contain known or suspected carcinogens in one form or another. This isn't a classist issue--cooking at home, which is cheaper, may cut down on chemical exposure. http://www.chemicalbodyburden.org/whatisbb.htm I know others will completely disagree with me as some researchers suggest this is an overblown problem and the human body actually rids itself well of contaminants, but I err on the side of caution. It's part of the reason I force myself to cook at home as much as possible--that and we're broke, haha.

Everything that goes into your body goes into pretty much every cell. You literally are what you eat. And it will leech into your breast milk as well as directly affect milk in the production stages.

Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
Of course it affects your milk, it's the same reason you shouldn't drink while breast feeding and if you do you should pump and dump. Why bother breast feeding if you're just going to eat shit?

Did you guys just not even read the link or?

Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
Yes I did. I wasn't responding to that issue. I am sure that the body pulls out all the nutrients necessary for quality breastmilk, which is why I mentioned that her milk would probably benefit Ollie at Missy's expense. Everything will go to him. I was making a separate point about the fact that much of this research concerns the nutrient content of breastmilk, but not the toxicity/body chemical burden.Izzybee wrote:Did you guys just not even read the link or?

Also, this is random, but I've been looking at nursery tour videos (just daydreaming, still not pg) but I stumbled on that video and as I was watching I thought this momma had similar tastes to Missy and Bryan (at least before they went all monkey crazy). Watch to the end. Anyone think they may have gotten "inspired" by her?

Ollie was already 5(?) Months old when that video was made. Apparently she and missy are friends and she told missy the baby's name before announcing it to YouTube. Missy was flattered, as if she created the name lolspringsahm wrote:

Hate Missy and Bryan but there is sooo much ignorance on these forums sometimes.
Breastmilk stays the same regardless of FOOD eaten. Of course MORPHINE, isn't a food that I'm aware of. Lol. So that's a different story. "pumping and dumping" doesn't work for drinking alcohol, at all. Look it up. You have to WAIT for the alcohol to leave the body, you can't just pump it out. Wow some people are idiots. I'm sure some of you don't even breastfeed or have children.

Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
A. I was clearly not saying that Morphine was a food. I was making a point about the fact that the nutrient content (% of fats, protein, etc) of the milk isn't the only concern with breastfeeding. Other things (chemicals in the mother's body) also get passed on.ladybug wrote:Hate Missy and Bryan but there is sooo much ignorance on these forums sometimes.

B. http://www.nrdc.org/breastmilk/whattodo.asp
Breastmilk most likely DOES mirror the chemical composition of the mother's body. I don't have children myself, but I am TTC and have done a lot of research that convinces me of one basic fact: crap in, crap out. And by the way, having a child doesn't make someone more qualified to talk about biochemistry--research does.
C. Tone is hard to tell via comments, so in case it was unclear, I'm not trying to pick a fight.
Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
Oh ok, I wasn't calling you out specifically. I've seen ignorance regarding breastmilk in multiple threads. But yeah, I've breastfeed going on 3 years and know quite a bit about it. Unless you are severely malnourished, the composition of the milk will stay the same. It's not going to be healthy/unhealthy milk based on what you EAT. medications can be passed through the milk and to the child. If the baby has sensitivities to certain things in the mothers diet, that can effect them also. Milk protein being a big one.

I hate when people start throwing out "you obviously don't have kids." Tayler's minions do that a lot.

What is with the dog getting his/her dew claws removed. Ouch! I could never do that. Somebody should remove pieces of their body. Yuck!!!
^ I don't want to continue the breastfeeding discussion but Everyone has a point. I wonder what her blood work looks like. All that crap food and the whole pregnancy thing has got to have her hormones out of whack. Her getting fatter could be a hormonal issue - we know they have their hand fulls of issues - but if they want a mutated baby (semi-joking!) thats their choice. I don't care what she does to her family. Food stamps and free insurance for all, the tax payers got it Funny thing is at 50 or death the state will take your house to repay all funds borrowed. So whose really getting the last laugh? EXACTLY! I don't understand able bodied people LIVING WITH THEIR PARENTS that can't just pay for their shit that they claim they want or need. Its their cookie so they can crumble it however they want but people are raised a little different around here. There are a few exceptions though.
"You obviously don't have kids" is for people that need an excuse for why they treat their own kids so horribly. Just an observation.

Re: BumpsAlongTheWayToTarget Part 8
I didn't read any links but from what I've been reading lately, a lot of websites say that a diet too high in fat can alter the fat content of the breast milk and that chemicals from the environment, water, and food do leak into the breast milk.
If alcohol and drugs show up, doesn't it make sense that the toxic chemicals in all the processed food would show up as well?
Also, going on the idea that Oliver will just deplete her reserves of healthy vitamins and nutrients, how long until those reserves are gone? Especially considering she's not doing anything to replenish them.
Maybe I am way off base. I admittedly don't know much at all about this topic, just what info I have found on popular baby sites and then kinda adding my own questions/commentary to it.
