Re: TeenMummy94
Something I find confusing is when people use the 24 hour system with time instead of 1-12 PM/AM. Especially with periods.
13.19 and 13:19 makes no sense.
13.19 and 13:19 makes no sense.

Lol. We live on military time in our household. Most don't, but we do. You get used to it.kingoflove21vher wrote:Something I find confusing is when people use the 24 hour system with time instead of 1-12 PM/AM. Especially with periods.

Re: TeenMummy94
When you write, it is 12:30 or 20:25.... But orally you don't say "It is twelve and thirty" (whichever language you use) or TWENTY - TWENTYFIVE.
You say EIGHT AND TWENTYFIVE and IT'S MIDDDAY AND A HALF.
If someone asks me the time I say TWO AND A HALF, I don't say FOURTEEN AND THIRTY ( to say 2:30 PM or 14:30 )
I think it's just a habit. It's easy if you start with the 24 hours system, because the clock is always in 12 hours. So there's no problem saying 2-3-4-5.... even if it's PM.

Re: TeenMummy94
Usually I don't say am/pm unless it's written out, it's usually just two in the afternoon or seven in the morning/at night. Most everybody I know where I'm from goes by the twelve hour clock and which phase of the day the hour takes place in.

Let's say that it's the closest translation in english for the words that we actually use (I don't live in a state with English as official language )cakewalked wrote:Omg your phrases are so different! We don't say "and a half" we say just say two-thirty, like you said you don't. So we do orally say that! Hahah.sleep84 wrote:When you write, it is 12:30 or 20:25.... Maybe orally we would say "thirty" although it sounds a teensy bit too formal if someone just asks you for the time on the streets.
We would definitely not say "fourteen and thirty". It would be understood, but it would sound silly. You know if it's afternoon or night.
Let's say that you have a doubt (like you just woke up from a coma lol) the answer could be "thirteen-fourteen-fifteen..." or "two and a half in the afternoon" except that we would say OF the afternoon (not english language)

Re: TeenMummy94
We use military time the majority of the time in Ireland. Like the clock on my iPhone is in military time. When it is 30 minutes past an hour, we say half. So say it's 13:30, we'd say it as ''half one''. Before half past, everything is said as past so for instance five past one, ten past one, twenty past one. Then after half past its said as twenty to, quarter to, five to the next hour.

Re: TeenMummy94
She posted on Instagram that she's due in 15 days and can't wait to get "very drunk". Priorities girl...that would be the last thing on my mind with a newborn.
Re: TeenMummy94
Meh...she's a low class bogan Aussie. Who cares? Bloody country is full of them.
What I laughed at was when their friends Hannah and Stevo started trying for a baby but it took a while because Stevo is gay.
Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I LOVE Jemma. She has come such a long way since the first baby. Her family really is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

I love Jemma as well, I wish she still vlogged. I also wish she spelt Aria's name 'Arya' seeing as she said her hubby picked the name from Game Of Thrones, and it's different to the zillion other Arias on youtube.
