I'm surprised that when Bryan jumped in the pool he didn't create a title wave that drowned the surrounding neighbourhoods

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
I get that they want to have another baby, but 5 bedrooms? That just seems a little over the top to me. I would have gotten a smaller home & saved up money.
Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
Anyone want to bet on how long they will live there before they move? Lol
Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
I may be being generous but I don't think they'll make it past Christmas, especially the way they buy presents.

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
No, you're totally right! I was just trying to put it simply to explain about the deductions to the person who asked. You are correct - you can write off rooms/square footage that you use for your business. For example, if it's a 2000 square foot home renting for $2000/month and if Bryan's office is 200 square feet, they can write off $200 worth of their rent every month. But they will probably also use some square footage for storage (for business purposes) as well as a "studio" in one of the bedrooms for filming and such. They'll probably be able to write off at least 1/3 of their rent payment, I'd guess. They also can then write off 1/3 (or whatever fraction of their rent they are deducting) for their utilities, as well.spricket wrote:If I recall correctly, you can only write off a portion of your house if you work from home, but you have to have a dedicated space that is used for work and only work - ie can't double as a bedroom or even play video games in there. I could be wrong, though, so don't take my word for itMaudeLebowski wrote: If you use your home as a part of your business, you can write it off. They use their home for a lot of things - filming, editing, storing things for their videos, etc.
They also can write off anything that they use in the process of making their videos. Video games/system that Bryan uses in a video, makeup, hotel stays, plane tickets, clothes for the "look book," etc. These are all deductions because they were used for business purposes.
While I, personally, don't believe they are making enough money to support their lifestyle, I hope they're at least being smart about it (for Ollie's future's sake) and have a kickass accountant.

^ If they had a kickass accountant, the horse ranch donation wouldn't have taken three months to get to the ranch...

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
What the heck is the point of the lookbook? Never heard of or seen anyone do this besides Missy and it was horrible!
Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
It's pretty common in the beauty guru subset of YT, and my guess is that Missy has run out of mommy video ideas and is trying to branch out. I wouldn't be surprised if she (Bryan) tries to transition hers into a "lifestyle" channel, with beauty, home decor/upkeep, DIYs, and/or whatever else. The problem is that I'm guessing she is and will be doing that stuff just for the sake of YT, and is going to wake up at 30 and have no idea what she's actually interested in. That's sad.mommalurker wrote:What the heck is the point of the lookbook? Never heard of or seen anyone do this besides Missy and it was horrible!

Ok just watched the house tour and a few things:
Damn, Byran has gotten huge! (I haven't watched a video in quite a while)
I can totally see Ollie falling down those steps and cracking his head on the tile
I love how Missy responded about Byran wanting a chalk board wall in the office, like she thought it was the stupidest idea ever.
Why do you need a heated pool in Cali?
Blue, red, pink and yellow in the kitchen? I think the house decorating is going to go as well as Missy's wardrobe...

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
In Canada like someone mentioned a TWO bedroom apartment that includes electricity, water, and heat is anywhere between 1200 - 1400 . 900-1050 for non inclusive and thats for a very basic apartment nothing fancy. If they are renting a house I would assume other bills aren't included such as heat water and electricity? Then you add in internet, cable, etc/. plus the start up fees, furniture, cleaners, kitchen and bathroom stuff, and the list goes on and on they have got to be in debt!! Even at making 100,000 a year that place has got to be ridiculously expensive and if it's cheaper I need to move to cali.

I think they got such a huge house that when they get too far in debt, their family can just move back in!

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
They keep dropping hints about having another baby. I seriously cannot wait until Missy tries to have the natural birth she wanted with Oliver. I can see her getting all "holier than thou" about it and not being able to go through with it because she's so whiney and complains about everything. I had a completely natural birth and it's definitely not for sissies. I don't think she can do it!

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
Ha are you kidding? She will never actually have a natural birth. There will always be something. I called it from about 16 weeks that it would end in a C section. I work in the natural birth field as a doula an unfortunately you can generally read the outcome from the start based on the mother. Of course I wouldn't have shared that before..

Wonder how long until the rest of the family move on in. Their credit cards will dry up!
