Some of those pouches are not so bad. They're just pureed fruit. I buy them at Whole Foods and eat them myself as snacks. They are just pureed fruit and lemon juice, no preservatives. But it is still better to use fresh foods, they're just decent as snacks, not as main meals.

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
Up next on Daikybumps: Missy spends an entire day in the kitchen making food for Ollie and Ollie is given his first set of silverware. Just wait and see.
Also I'm glad to see they're eating at home but the shit they eat is still really processed.

Ah, I didn't know. We've only used food pouches a handful of times, mainly because they came in a subscription box. Yeah, they seem only good for snacks even for an older baby. They never seem fill my daughter up.fossilfinger wrote:Some of those pouches are not so bad. They're just pureed fruit. I buy them at Whole Foods and eat them myself as snacks. Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
When he first started eating real food she was making fresh fruits and veggies. For one of their trips she got the pouches and apparently never went back to making the fresh food. She is just too busy decorating and folding laundry! I agree though the poor kid yesterday wouldn't eat any ham (processed lunchmeat of course) probably because he isn't used to the texture or flavor.
When Bryan was talking about how Missy can't drive back and forth to her moms to do laundry I was like are you joking? We do not have a washer and dryer, nor do we have hookups for them. I am 25 and I go to my moms to do laundry! Heaven forbid they do "boring adult things" other than shopping or eating out.
Okay and the returned plates made me sick. So disgusting. It's one thing to return something you've used if there is something wrong with it. But you know they packed those plates back up and never said they were used!! Literally Ollie's lunch was on the old plates and at the end of the Vlog they had new ones! Nasty couple of people who think that's okay. Suck up your loss since you can't make up your mind!

That sounds very similar to what happened with the cloth diapers, doesn't it? Using cloth, love it, its awesome! Use disposables for vacation and when they come back they never go back to cloth.Futuremrs1220 wrote:When he first started eating real food she was making fresh fruits and veggies. So true lol! I hope they don't go on a vacation without Ollie. They'll come back and just have Missy's parents keep him.spricket wrote:That sounds very similar to what happened with the cloth diapers, doesn't it? Using cloth, love it, its awesome! Missy should be banned from participating in advertisements.

They got subscribers all on their own? No help from others? OK didn't the Nivenulls help them a little. Missy was on the moms view. But they did it all alone guyzzzzzzz

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
About the fruit and veggie pouches, they can be great if used only as snacks. My son is 11 months and hates all fruit, but will eat a fruit pouch. We buy the ones with only fruit and lemon juice. It's a good way for me to get fruit in him when otherwise he wouldn't be getting any. I do agree that they shouldn't be used as meals though. My son has been feeding himself for about 4 months now and eats meat, eggs, pasta, veggies, cheese, yogurt, anything really that isn't fruit. They should let Oliver feed himself and eat more "big people" food. He needs to develop those motor skills and if they continue to feed him mostly purées he is going to have sensory issues with food later on.

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
Today's vlog was the first I watched in a while. Ollie was watching Bryan's food enviously. Even Bryan commented on it. Isn't that a sign that he's ready to start experimenting with feeding himself and with more adult foods (like real solids, not just purees). Anyway, I think the issue with them is they're just no relatable. Every day seems like Saturday. I mean even when they do chores or run errands or do work (make videos) that's a typical weekend for any one of us minus the filming and then the rest of the week we actually go to work. And I know that real stay-at-home moms do more than them any day and there's two of them. I don't really hate them or anything. I just don't learn anything or get anything of value from them. It's good they were trying to be more humble in this video asking fans not to send gifts and expressing their gratitude for those things. At least they're trying.

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
I used to like them decently enough, but as a hard working mom of 2 under 2 and a teacher, now I honestly get so annoyed by them! I have read here for a long time, and even thought about making an account to defend them, but didn't. The really don't have any redeeming qualities at this point, besides making quality videos (when Missy used to do them), but of course, they both are at home all day and live with people who can watch Oliver all day as well. Of course, they should be able to pop out a few quality videos a week! I wish they would look at it as the equivalent to him having an office job with the perk of being able to relieve your wife every once in a while- rather than, "Geez, I need a nap, I am SO tired".
I actually made an account to talk about the pouches. Like I said, my children are Irish Twins (less than one year apart), and I work full time as a kindergarten teacher, I don't cloth diaper b/c 'ain't nobody got time for that!!' and I did use pouches a lot when my babies ate purees. Truthfully, those were probably the absolute healthiest meals that they got (Happy Baby brand includes things like Salba and Chia that my kids would never have gotten otherwise), and they were introduced to veggies that I would have never even purchased on my own. All this while having no preservatives, and being 100% organic.
BUT- I was also told by my pediatrician at the 9 month appointment that they should be eating exactly what we are eating, just smaller bites. I still buy some to have on hand for snacks for my newly turned 1 year old, but she eat everything that we eat. He should also be learning to use a fork and spoon by now as well. I did not do baby led weaning, but my son was fully feeding himself real food by 8 months and my daughter by 10 months (she's not as independent minded as he is). I used puffies to introduce the chewing motion and there is reflex that they need to develop (using tongue to move food over to side of mouth), so they learned to use their own hands and chew with out the fear of choking.
I do feel that Oliver seems to catch on to things quickly, but they are actually holding him back at this point. My partner had a student one year whose grandmother raised him and was so worried about him choking that she did not introduce anything until not pureed until he was 2----- he needed a feeding tube and occupational therapy because he never developed those reflexes and skills. I don't think that will happen with Oliver b/c it seems that her parents are there enough and surely they will say something.... right?

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
I agree with whoever said they aren't relatable! I am a SAHM of two & I do SO much more than these two fools do in a day! If anything I feel like there isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done that I need to do. & it makes me sick when they complain about how hard they work & how tired they are. My husband sometimes has to work 12 hr shifts or 7 days a week & he doesn't complain like them! Also I wondered if anyone knows if they went to college at all & if they have a degree? This may sound mean but I hope they don't have another child anytime soon...I just feel like they won't know what to do then! They are EXAUSTED now with one baby who seems pretty well behaved...imagine them with a high needs baby or a baby with colic! I think part of the reason I don't respect bryan is because my husband is such a hard worker & so is my father...Bryan cannot even put a fence up around his pool his FIL has to do it.. oh & their little ad for mtv's new show...WHY?! Missy's "acting" was TERRIBLE. sorry this little rant was all over the place these lazy bums just infuriate me to no end!

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
I won't forget the time Missy posted a picture on IG of Bryan lying down in bed on his laptop and Missy said something about how Bryan is such a hard working husband because he spends hours editing and she started getting crap from a bunch of people about how laying down in bed and editing videos shouldn't be considered hard work. They even said things like try having a husband who's in the military etc.

Re: Bumsalongtheway Part 10
What's sad is in their minds laying down to edit videos IS hard work. Those two wouldn't know what to do if YouTube was just gone one day.
