Also anyone else notice how Bryan has a legit waddle now? You definitely see how Jared is able to be way more active with the kids than Bryan.

So this is kinda old, but it bugged me. Does anyone else think Bryan is controlling?
A couple weeks ago Missy did that swap box on her channel. She mentioned that she wanted to buy Reese's pumpkins but bryan made her put them back. A $3 bag of candy. But he is aaalways buying and eating crap. In fact that same day in their vlog, he was eating some halloween candy. But she couldn't buy that one little thing? Or when she wanted to buy some makeup (A Naked palette, I think) but said it was too much. Yet his new phones, cameras and other gadgets are never an issue.

A couple weeks ago Missy did that swap box on her channel. She mentioned that she wanted to buy Reese's pumpkins but bryan made her put them back. A $3 bag of candy. But he is aaalways buying and eating crap. In fact that same day in their vlog, he was eating some halloween candy. But she couldn't buy that one little thing? Or when she wanted to buy some makeup (A Naked palette, I think) but said it was too much. Yet his new phones, cameras and other gadgets are never an issue.

I'm not sure about the candy but any time she talks about wanting something or something being too expensive I just assume she is hoping someone will send it to her. He doesn't have issues with her paying out the butt for those crappy dye jobs or ugly clothes lol. With the basket I thought she was making it a point to let us know he was involved in that room and it wasn't her room I am positive they read here and it has been posted a few times that she decorated it for herself so she could basically move in there.

With the candy, I don't remember exactly which one it was, but I remember that Bryan showed all the candy in the cart, and then like the next day in her video, she said "I was going to get these but Bryan made me put them back"

Ollie seems pretty behind verbally for 15 months. The only real word I've heard him say is "hi", but he should be saying mama and dada and using both regularly, as well as a handful of other first words like ball, bye etc

Yeah, I know all babies are different, but my cousin is about 5 months older than Ollie and is already speaking clear, 4-5 word sentences. She even makes a joke about Toby (my dog) based on a video I show her, so she's constantly asking him if he wants bacon ("Toby, you want some bacon?") every time she sees him. It's quite cute.

5 months is a lot older in toddler time, they grow so much! Also, I have found girls are quicker to pick up verbal skills. Every baby is different, my 15 mo old can say 5 words clearly, but my middle son was almost 2 before he really started talking (he hasn't stopped talking since!)

boys also mature later than girls when it comes to verbal skills and toilet training especially. but i do think he should be saying a couple more words than he does. he never really points and says "mom/mama" or "dad"... "dog" "ball" just little things like that.

This is my first post in a while, but I am always reading here, just my two cents on the talking matter.
Comparing kids is never really a straightforward thing, kids all develop at different rates and do things at different ages, it's like comparing apples to oranges, But, NORMALLY, yes a boy his age should be doing a bit more. My son is a couple weeks younger or older than than Ollie ( I can't remember Ollies bday) and he says "ball, doggie, flower, mum, dad, Nanna, bubba, birdie, bye, hi" and he says them all in the correct context and can point and identify them in books or out and about.

I do think it comes down to the fact that they just don't spend enough time talking to him and playing/reading etc with him, they are too occupied with their vlogging cameras, computer, games and phones.

To me Ollie seems capable of talking, he points and makes sounds and sometimes says the odd noise that sounds like a word, but they just don't spend much time interacting with him that we see, they very well could be, but I doubt it

Wow, that update on Ollie was cringe worthy. Imitating him, telling him he's not good at something, and then of course the whole "genetic picky eater". That's ridiculous. No one is born picky, they become that way. Missy and Bryan legitimize pickiness and give him that example in their own behavior. Of course the kid is picky! Also he needs a hair cut.

I agree! My daughter is 17 months and I will admit she was a little behind in speech at 14 months because I wasn't talking to her (I'm not a talker myself and I'm the only one around her most of the day). I realized this and started talking all the time to her and her vocabulary has exploded in the last few months. Between the few 'baby sign language' signs she knows and her toddler babble, if she doesn't know the word for something you can at least figure out what she wants.

They just need to start talking to him instead of watching their screens and stuffing their faces.
