I don't get why all of you girls have to label yourself with the things that went wrong rather than putting those things behind you, just being yourself, proud of the things you got right. Not illustrating (literally) the things that went wrong.

My next tattoo will be something to do with my daughter.
I'm not getting her name, footprint, initials or face, though.

I found out her name actually is a type of tree. One with a beautiful flower, supposedly. The flowers are used in herbal teas. They grow rapidly, and are often used as the wood for carvings.
I'm thinking of incorporating something along those lines. Possibly a flower.

I know that I want something to represent this time in my life that I can look back on and to be proud.
Sure I could do that with pictures, or a journal, but it means more to me than something that could be destroyed or lost.

I have been flirting with the idea of getting a tattoo for years, but I don't think I'm ready to make a permanent commitment. If I did, it would be in white ink. I could get one on my arm, too, because I am always cold and ALWAYS wear long sleeves to work, even in the summer when it's 110*F outside, so placement isn't a concern. I also like the idea of getting tattooed in the country where I spent a couple years and I plan on visiting next year, but besides getting the flag (which I am not doing) of that country I don't know how best to symbolize it...

White ink is also the most easily rejected.
If you're pale, which assuming you are since you said you wear long sleeves often, it can reject easier.

Cake - the sperm bank discussion... I would totally do that. If I was in a different place where I wasn't with anyone, but wanted a child, that's the option I would choose.
You can literally pick the genes for your child.

I actually did research on having a sperm donor. Its quite interesting and I might actually look into it in the future because like cake said I want a child more than a spouse.
