BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
Yes, Missy, I'm sure Oliver will one day love your collection of Pinterest desserts and takeout numbers you loved.
And I don't know why but I always get super aggravated whenever she or Bryan talk about video games... Just... My ultimate career goal is to be a localizer/Technical Writer for Nintendo and listening to either one of them describe games is like nails on a chalk board for me.
She also didn't look very good in this video--really pale, tired, and dried out. Maybe she should have gotten a skin care set for Christmas??

But you guyzzzz, she got a book about her favorite therietsh (aka series). Lol Listening to the video right now and my husband had me play back her saying "series" at least 10 times.

And sooooo many comments were asking for what Ollie got for Christmas too. Seriously, if I were a YouTuber with a kid, my kid's Christmas stuff would come long before mine.nzmum512 wrote:You read my mind - that's exactly what I was thinking.jodilo88 wrote:Of COURSE Ellie does a video on what her kid got for Christmas while Missy does one of what SHE got for Christmas. Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
I already despise "What I Got For Christmas" videos because its literally just an opportunity to brag. But the thought of Bryan doing one of those videos makes me gag (Missy's was obnoxious enough). As if Missy and Bryan will ever use that Wii Fit LOL HAH. That requires exercise.
And yep! That outdoor play set will remain indoors. Their house is looking more and more like white trash teenagers live in it. LOL.

I just watched Heidi Kim's latest video about her daughter's apeech delay and I'm convinced that Ollie has a delay too. He's what, 17 months? I've not heard/seen him say/sign 20 words like they're meant to around 18 months.

Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
Boys develop slower than girls, and Oliver could just be developing more slowly than average. Although, M and B don't interact and talk to him much, so I wouldn't doubt that if he DOES indeed have a developmental delay, that its because of M and B. And it's also been studied that kids who learn sign language develop their speaking skills slower as well, but Missy doesn't follow through with the sign language consistently, so honestly, Oliver is probably just confused as hell.nzmum512 wrote:I just watched Heidi Kim's latest video about her daughter's apeech delay and I'm convinced that Ollie has a delay too. My son would do the "Ah daa?" (What's that) thing that Oliver was doing a couple months ago, and my husband and I took it as an opportunity to teach him the words to the things he'd be pointing to. And at 19 months, he's super close to forming sentences and says over 30 words. I wish B & M would've taken the opportunity to teach Oliver instead of what they did and thought it was just something Oliver was doing to be cute.cats-or-die wrote:Boys develop slower than girls, and Oliver could just be developing more slowly than average. Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
So true! They never once told him the actual word he was trying to say, but instead repeated the "ah daa" sound and laughed. The poor kid gets sign language randomly thrown at him, has two parents who repeat him instead of teach him, is thrown in front of cartoons instead of being played with, and is never actually engaged and talked to. Missy doesn't even read to him like she was adamant on doing when he was young. The kid is going to be two years old and they're finally going to notice he's delayed. -__-Fuzzybunz wrote:

Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
it really bothers me that rather than try to teach him words, they just seem to mimick his sounds. That most likely will result in a delay of he's not being taught words and just learns that all he needs to do is grunt and point.Fuzzybunz wrote:My son would do the "Ah daa?" My son's speech therapist said that you're supposed to mimic every sound or words they make.angelfire89 wrote:it really bothers me that rather than try to teach him words, they just seem to mimick his sounds. Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
Well I'm sure when he is obviously asking the question, "What's that?" after repeating what he said you should then go on and actually answer said question. You repeat it so that they hear how it's supposed to be pronounced. Not so that you can laugh about how cute it is.ohgoodness wrote:My son's speech therapist said that you're supposed to mimic every sound or words they make.angelfire89 wrote:it really bothers me that rather than try to teach him words, they just seem to mimick his sounds. Re: BumsAlongtheWaytoScamming Part 15
Yes, repeat what the child is saying, but in proper words, not baby/toddler words/pronunciation. And tell them what the thing is they are asking about. It does have to do a lot with how much the parents/caregivers interact with them and TEACH a child. Of course each child is different as to when they learn certain things, but I bet Brian & Missy just are not interacting with him enough on a more personal level with toys etc.

A blank recipe binder so she can write all her recipes down, but she is ONLY putting her desserts in it! Really nothing exciting or that will be mentioned ever again.shortstop wrote:Can someone post what missy received?? thank you !!
