Missy, if the video you and your "friend" made didn't work out and you were serious about youtube, you'd make a different video. Maybe something mom related? Maybe an update on ttc or your feelings on ttc this time around? Idk.. it's that simple. You guys only had one objective when starting youtube and that was $$$$. It wasn't about reaching out and making a community. You're lucky most of your followers are 9-14 or else you wouldn't have a fan base. Honesty and being humble go a long way. You guys barely do anything all day.. we know you have the time.
The funny thing is, that they don't see their viewers will outgrow them. There is no way they can make this last the way they are currently doing it. I know it must be nice for them to both stay home with Ollie (ok each other), but at some point they really do need to grow up. I mean, just look at the number of former minions that have been finding us here lately! At some point the lightbulb does go off, and you start to realize that you're watching lazy ass whiners. The other family vloggers are gaining viewers, and they are far more likeable and interesting, so any new kiddies that are looking for a family to watch will be more likely to gravitate towards them. Missy brought in a lot of views with the mommy thing, but she's quickly losing credibility in that department. Sad, because I used to really like her.
Know what I think the problem is? They've settled in to this lazy routine. They are used to doing nothing, and therefore always feel like crap, don't want to do anything but relax, and think they've been so productive when they actually get off the couch and do something. Every day is a weekend for them! Any day that doesn't feel like that is suddenly super hard, and they need a vacation. I don't think that's healthy.
You know how in the summer your kids get bored inside and start to become sloths so you kick them outside to go do something? Yeah, that's B&M.
