Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
I really really hope it's not a matchy matchy sibset name. I've already expressed my disgust at Olivia on the main thread.
I also really hope E&J don't give their boy an E name "omg E&J and E&J!!!!"
You can name kids names that sound good together without matching or having a theme :/

Do you think it was be Harry Potter themed?
(That's where i always thought 'Oliver James' came from, since Bryan was saying he was a huge fan.)
So maybe Luna or Emma or Bonnie or something like that.

I'm not convinced on the Harry Potter theme. James is Missy's dad's name, he shortens it to Jim. It's a family name, and obviously Jimmy was given that name too. Oliver isn't a Harry Potter name.
That being said, these two often surprise me with their decision making...

Boys: Noah, Gavin (maybe then Shay will notice him!!111!!), Lucas/Luca, Theodore (Teddie and Ollie), Henry/Harrison (Harry for short--I wish Bryan actually liked Harry Potter for the full universe because James Potter is by far my favorite character of ALL time, so it would be nice for him to mention the marauders for once. But he seems like someone who would like Snape aka the grossest and most misogynistic character in the whole series), Finnegan, Roman/Rowan, Sampson/Samuel, Maxwell, Micah, Harlow
Girls: Alice, Scarlett, Addaline, Charlotte, Lucy, Anna, Evangeline, Harper, Wren, Rebecca (which is also my name and i hope and pray they don't name their kid after me )
Based on their last two names, Gabriel and Oliver, it seems they like hipster names that are very simplistic and classic.

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
I think Oliver and Gabriel are very different styles and personally I don't like how they sound together.
Do y'all consider how the name sounds with your other kids names (or names you're considering for future children if you're expecting your first or only have one)?
Sort of OT but since this is a name thread (btw there IS a name thread on general if anyone just wants to talk names!) I have an opinion question.
I'm unsure if I will be having more children but ideally I'd like to have one more for sure and possibly two (depending on what my future SO and I decide and what we can afford - my kids are 4 and 9 so fortunately I won't be buying 2 cars or putting 2 kids through college at the same time!) Anyway, so my kids have similarly styled names, one is a little more old fashioned than the other but both are really timeless and classic IMO. Both names start with a J sound (but one starts with a G so we're not getting all duggar-y in here!) Since both start with the same sound, do you think I'm kind of stuck with a timeless classic name that starts with a J sound? Or do you think it would work they were names that fit the same style?

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
IMO it takes three to create a pattern. So for the next kid if you give a name that has that has that "J" sound then for the fourth then it would be weird not to. However, since one of your kids has a "G" instead of a J already, it wouldn't sound weird at all if the third has a different sound. Like I said, once you hit the third consecutive sound that's when you have a pattern that you should stick to. At least that's my opinion.

Good! I have a boy name and a girl name that fit my style and the j sound and I love them but I love others more! I think those two names are almost carved in stone in my head for middle names though (they're Jude and jane )

Like I said 'hipster' :/ but I like Clayton thoughkiki wrote:That is the most bizarre name list ever... A few very traditional, old names, a few modern 'trendy' names, and a lot of weird outdated names or nicknames. Alex, kyle, Jeremy?? Very 90s... Definitely not 'in' anymore, but not old enough to sound traditional. Just seems kind of weird to me since the only people i know weith those names are around my age (20-30). And DJ? Bruce? Really? BRUCE?! Is there anyone under 45 with that name? Lol

Oliver Wood is a side character in Harry Potter (he's the keeper/captain of the quidditch team, I believe) so Oliver could have been a subtle Harry Potter reference.nzmum512 wrote:I'm not convinced on the Harry Potter theme. Too subtle for Bryan I still think this theory is overreaching.queenofhearts wrote:Oliver Wood is a side character in Harry Potter (he's the keeper/captain of the quidditch team, I believe) so Oliver could have been a subtle Harry Potter reference.nzmum512 wrote:I'm not convinced on the Harry Potter theme. Alright, I'm going to make 10 guesses for each gender. Based on their considerations for Oliver I think their style is fairly common, trendy names. Girls are a wild stab in the dark.
Adrian, Carson, Carter, Declan, Henry, Hudson, Jude, Levi, Preston, Sebastian
Ava, Charlotte, Delilah, Harper, Hazel, Matilda, Piper, Ruby, Scarlett, Stella
I don't know enough about them to guess family/middle names.

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
Did they ever say that the names on the chalkboard were their actual list, or were they just random names, aside from Oliver? I didn't watch them at the time so I'm not sure if they said that those were their favorite names or not. "Bruce" and "Atley" and "D.J." made me think that they threw in some outliers to throw the viewers off, maybe make Oliver sound better compared to some other choices.
Personal preference, but I hope they don't use an O name. Either they'll be trapped into using O for all of their kids, or it's going to be weird having Oliver, Owen, and Silas.

Boy - Braxton, Ethan, Nolan (something that ends with an N, haha)
Girl - Isabella, Amelia
I think it'll be something very similar to lots of other YouTube babies.

I think the name will have to have a "cute" nickname.
It won't be Liam because there's already a youtube baby named Liam

Who knows what they will use. I use to think Atley was super unique and cute. Yes i'm weird I know, haha. I have a little boy Brantley, and I actually didn't like it when my fiancé said it but I fell in love with it, and one day he tried changing it and I knew that was his name. It was just him..
I see them using something more popular like Liam or something like Bella.

I bet they use something common and generic.
I know a little girl named Brantlee. Not my style.
I think they should name this baby Nicetry

wouldn't be surprised if they named the kid something to do with cambodia, because bryan is sooooo inspired.

I thought Bella also because she likes Beauty and the beast and it's kind of like Belle.
