Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
I just thought of something! What if this one is a girl (fingers crossed for a boy for Ollie's sake) and they name her something to honor Bryan like Brynn or Brynnlee? I would be sick to my stomach -__-

I feel like they're more likely to go off Missys name. I could see a Molly or Maggie, or Maddie like someone else predicted.Rebecca_cheerr wrote:I just thought of something! Also I totally get why you guys say that you hope it's a boy for Oliver's sake (less likely to be forgotten). But, if they got her beloved girl, by the time they got around it thinking about #3 maybe their YT channel would fizzle and they'd stop having kids. Cuz you know she's going to keep having them until she gets her girl... What if it's like 4 boys later?!

A little girl growing up with Bryan's face is unfortunate to think about. Ollie pulls it off, so far.

Her mom came up with Gabriel I am pretty positive! I don't think Gabriel even had a name for a little bit.gagalooch wrote:I think I read somewhere they we're going to name him Oliver but decided after on Gabriel. I think I read it in her blog. Or she mentioned it once.DanieKey1016 wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they had a name for Gabriel until after Missy had miscarried. I can't remember what video it was, but I think I remember Missy saying that some time after she miscarried him, Suzanne called her and said his name was Gabriel.. like she had a vision of it or something.. Does anyone remember that?

Gabriel wasn't named for a while and then they didn't share his name. While he was alive Missy said on her blog that she and Bryan had only agreed on Oliver as a name but obviously they changed their minds after he passed away.longhairdontcare1006 wrote:Her mom came up with Gabriel I am pretty positive! *sigh* talking about Gabriel just reminds me why I started watching Missy and how disappointed I am now...

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
My guess is that they had a name picked for Gabriel. Which was Oliver, but when he passed they changed it. My honest opinion on that is that they changed is so they could use it for another baby. If that is the case then my issue is, once you "pick the name that sticks" thats their name, that should be their name. Not if he passes pick a different name because you want to use that name for a different child. Idk. I may be crazy and over thinking it.

I feel the exact same. Like if you had that name chosen, KNEW you were gonna be calling him that if not already were, why change it just become he passed? It's so rude honestlyblahblahblacksheep wrote:My guess is that they had a name picked for Gabriel. Which was Oliver, but when he passed they changed it. I'm so glad someone understands what I meant! If you picked the name KEEP IT!! That was his identity for the unfortunately short time he was with you. Oh well they're insane anyways!!Deadhead_kay wrote:I feel the exact same. I feel the same. I think it's disrespectful to his memory. It's like they basically decided they like the name and don't want it wasted.blahblahblacksheep wrote:I'm so glad someone understands what I meant! If you picked the name KEEP IT!! I don't get how they could use the name Oliver after referring to their stillborn son as that. That makes me so sad for both boys...
Slightly different but my daughter was stillborn... and since I was 12, I loved the name Audrey. From the moment I found out that I was pregnant, I swore that would be the baby's name. I just knew she was a girl and I thought of her as Audrey. A week after my anatomy scan, I had a fetal echocardiogram and we found out she has multiple congenital heart defects and after an amnio, the genetic counselor told me she was likely to pass before she was born or not make it long after. Two weeks later, I had a dream that her name should be Callie. I woke up and found the meaning and Callie meant beautiful and lovely... so she was Callie Hope from that moment. She was born sleeping a few weeks later and when I saw her, I knew I made the right choice and that Callie was the perfect name for her... she was the most beautiful and lovely baby I'd ever seen. That being said... I'll never use Audrey if I have another daughter. Even though we didn't use the name, I feel like it's so closely linked to Callie and was, in a way, hers. I did have people ask if I'd changed the name so I could use Audrey in the future but I can't even fathom doing that.

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
To be fair, nothing on Missy's blog suggests they had actually decided on a name for Gabriel before he died, Oliver or otherwise.
My name was originally in the running to be my older sister's middle name. She was a late term miscarriage, probably as old as Gabriel, and my parents decided to save my name instead of give it as my sister's middle name.
Much as I dislike the Lannings, I do think their choices with naming Gabriel and then Oliver are personal things and I don't fault them on it. I mean, they were probably also thinking of using James as a middle name then too seeing as it was a family name, but then didn't and used Bryan instead.

Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
It's not really the same but I knew someone whose son died in a car crash and they used his name as their later son's name. So they had 2 kids with the same name
Re: Gue$$e$ and $ugge$tion$ for #2'$ name
I knew someone who had a daughter pass away from cancer and they named their later daughter a really similar name - both first and middle names - after the daughter who died. Really not convinced about doing thatlizyfignewton wrote:It's not really the same but I knew someone whose son died in a car crash and they used his name as their later son's name. I personally can't imagine doing either. Maybe with your friend's situation, maybe same middle name but I think it'd be too emotional for me to do same/similar (same same, but different ) first names

I think naming your kid after one that passed is going to force your kid to be exactly like its namesake. The parent is never moving on and just pushing their feelings onto this completely different child. It just sits wrong with me

I definitely don't think that is right, maybe a middle name but definitely not a firstlizyfignewton wrote:It's not really the same but I knew someone whose son died in a car crash and they used his name as their later son's name. So they had 2 kids with the same name
