Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
It wasn't the special needs thing that made Brit not want anymore kids. Ean said they were done after two. She wants more.
But I agree. She needs to go to a specialist for nolans arm.

She already got 2 of out him (the first unwillingly, second she claims they both wanted another but we will never know if he did) I have a feeling she can get another kid out of him if she wantsCamilaCabello wrote:It wasn't the special needs thing that made Brit not want anymore kids. I had a teacher in high school that was born without a finger like Nolan. His right arm was a lot smaller from the lack of using those muscles. I don't think it's the worst thing that could've happened, but it is weird that Britney treats it like it's nothing.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
The thing with his hand really won't be a huge deal in the long run. It's a pretty minor disability comparatively and he'll be able to live a mostly average life. But she can't treat it like it doesn't exist. She should be taking him to the specialist so that if there's any problems, it can be worked around now so that he'll be able to have as much function in that hand as possible.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
Mentally Nolan can be as intelligent and intellectual as others but no one deny the fact that missing one functional hand is always disadvantageous. So he should be taught to make the best use of his situation. Many disabled people have achieved great things in life but the first step to all these is the acceptance of the situation. That is missing here. He could be as abled and as achieving as other kids of his age but he needs support for that. Hope he gets that.
And if at all she gets pregnant again by Ean. I am seeing a separation.

He's not missing a hand lol. From what I've seen in videos and from what Britney says, he's still using it. I do think she should've taken him to the specialist anyways.marshmellow wrote:Mentally Nolan can be as intelligent and intellectual as others but no one deny the fact that missing one functional hand is always disadvantageous. Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
He's missing a thumb, not an entire hand. People with much more severe physical disabilities live average lives. But yes, he needs a mother that accepts his disability.marshmellow wrote:Mentally Nolan can be as intelligent and intellectual as others but no one deny the fact that missing one functional hand is always disadvantageous. Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
He is missing a fully functional hand. He is missing bones that should support the 4 fingers he does have, therefore, it's not the same as just missing one digit. It's not the same as having all 5 fingers and losing 1 in an accident. There's more wrong than just a missing thumb.
He's going to need physical therapy, but again, if his hand is missing the infrastructure it's supposed to have, he may end up having limited use of it. He'll be able (hopefully) to do all the large motor skills, but he may have a lot of difficulty with fine motor skills because of his particular issues. It's neither here nor there I guess. Maybe there's nothing at all to be done right now. Maybe Britney is holding back some information, and there is nothing they can do until later. With her it's impossible to tell unless she goes nuts on social media again. Her attitude seems very cavalier, but maybe she knows more than us. Haha. Never thought I'd say that.

Like you said, there are some things he will be at a disadvantage. For example, there are certain careers he cannot do because of his thumb AND arm. Even if he does have full function.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
I agree. I'm no specialist, but I think he will do fine. But IMO she's got to keep up with the doctors appointments. I can see him in physical therapy, & occupational therapy. They do wonders! I think that's all he will need. It's not hard, & he will do fine.ArielLipstick wrote:The thing with his hand really won't be a huge deal in the long run. It's better that he was born like this then an accident happening when he's say 8. He will learn to use it the way he knows how. He won't know any different.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
I said he is missing one FUNCTIONAL hand. Not missing a hand lol !! they are both different cases. Please dont get me wrong.
Not that he cannot do anything with that hand, not at all. I have seen people losing both hands in accidents or born without them making excellent use of limbs to get their everyday things done but that needs acceptance of their situation and training. Either self/ from others. If he just missed a thumb not big deal. But still thumb is a very important digit which basically supports the hold and since he has no thumb he needs proper training atleast for his everyday activities and the fact that his one arm is much shorter than the other, that's a total different bargain.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
for some reason I feel like I read somewhere that missing a thumb is considered 90% disability - I could be totally wrong though.
Anyway, he may qualify for social security which could be helpful. I wonder if Britney has looked into it.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
He's using his pointer finger as a "thumb" though, isn't he? You can see how it curves in like a thumb. Britney said he was using it as one or will probably use it as one in the future.

Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
That's just her uninformed feeling. A thumb works because it's opposable. He doesn't have an opposable index finger. His hand doesn't resemble a normal hand because there are missing bones. I'm sure he'll be able to use it somehow, but he'll never have fine motor control on that hand. People with missing hands are able to do a lot of normal things and sports, and obviously he will be able to do so as well. I think the question now is when/if he should start PT/OT. Maybe it has to wait, but we don't know because Britney didn't go to the specialist and report back. I think he needs more testing, and maybe they have to wait until he's older to do an MRI or something. Lots of questions, no answers.idontknowwhattoput wrote:He's using his pointer finger as a "thumb" though, isn't he? You can see how it curves in like a thumb. Re: Britneyandbaby Part 8
I honestly think that he'll be fine. It would be a lot worse if he was born with all five fingers and ended up loosing one later in life. I do wish Britney had taken him to the specialist and I hope she does in the future.

COULD HE (NOLAN) HAVE ....... Holt-Oram syndrome???????????????????????????

sbest99 wrote:COULD HE (NOLAN) HAVE ....... Holt-Oram syndrome???????????????????????????
Probably not, that's something that would probably get diagnosed with or without going to a specialist and it would have been more important to take him to a specialist if that were the case.
However, you seem to have a case of Easeoffthecapsandquestionmark syndrome, which isn't serious but it's hella annoying.
