I am a long time lurker and am finally going to give my 2 cents based on what I have experienced watching db- when I first started watching them I was pregnant with my 8th child but had lost 5 in utero I first watched Missy's videos on her losses and even though I am not Christian I found their videos very hopeful and beautiful you could feel and hear their pain in their videos, they were also humble and lived small like regular people so I started watching them and we actually had our kiddos 1 month apart even though I am a bit older than her they were a nice end to my day their videos were funny and informative etc but omw when Oliver got to about a year old I think it was just after his 1st birthday everything went downhill they became lazy self centered idiots to say the least and I just got more and more frustrated with them buying things left right and center eating out everyday and neglecting Ollie especially when she decided to go for her surgery and they started baby making- he was completely pushed to the side, he is not a stupid child at all not in the least he needs focus and attention like I said my youngest is a month younger and learns a new word almost everyday and we also signed with him at first so that has nothing to do with it we just repeat most words with him and point things out all the time he can tell us what he wants when he wants it and he only started walking at 16 months so its not a developmental thing. second Oliver is stuck in front of the tv way to often if we put something on my son will maybe watch for a few minutes and then he wants us to play with him which we do my older kids wont even sit through a full movie most days, 3rdly the take out- smoothies etc are great but it is not difficult with a decent budget to cook or make nutritious healthy meals and snacks for your child god she can even lazy parent and buy ready made healthy stuff they choose not to and Missy refusing to eat veggies is a very poor example- I am far from mom of the year but I make sure there are veggies on every evening plate and they need to eat at least 2/3 of it especially if there is an after supper treat involved, my kids get a healthy packed lunch I even bake muffins and stuff for the lunches and cut out their sandwiches and I have a full time job and 3 kids with a husband who works crazy hours and is often not home and my 2 oldest kids are ADHD so things usually take longer with a bit more coxing.
When I watched her in her pregnancy she jumped on the crunchy bandwagon but was too flippen lazy to stick with it- I know cloth is not for everyone but I seriously cannot understand all the problems she had and she had good quality ones to boot I have cheaper end ones and after a year of cd am only needing to strip now, and yes breastfeeding takes time etc well all you have is time lady same with home made foods etc its just laughable saying they need a nap and getting up at 10 and too lazy to even go to the grocery store its frustrating to the t... They force Oliver to nap so they can get even more time away I don't think he is even up an hour or so then he goes down for another nap there is no need for it and then when he is asleep the wake him up for stupid things like because they got back from a trip and wanted to see him or because they think teasing him is cute it is not cute that poor child especially with her and cassie in the car a few vlogs ago my husband and I were both yelling at the tv leave the child alone and then they moaned when he wouldn't go down for his nap.
They try to act like they know better like with the seizure Ollie may have had, that is not normal and I definitely would have taken my child to see someone immediately and taken it very seriously and not as a joke like they did and then act like her mom knew exactly what it was BS!!!!!
One of the last straws for me was the Cambodia trip, Bryan went as a tourist not to help he spent money on useless crap they don't need and enjoyed luxuries instead of maybe staying with a Cambodian family and actually experiencing how they live and then to top it off he insulted their culture so many times it was sickening and a poor christian example especially since they do not only have christian subs. He also spent so much money and bought so many things around that time I said to hubby and he agreed that it was highly unlikely that all that money went to the cause or that he didn't get paid for going over which is sickening!!!! Then her acting like woo is me my life is so hard my husband is away I am a single mom no you are not you twit and you insulted every good mother out there if you cannot handle one child alone how will you handle 2 or more and gods forbid you need to get a job at some point because I think you will, Bryan's voice is really bad seriously bad however I did find the song stuck annoyingly in your head grrr and since their target audience is teeny bopper girls they will indeed sell quite a number of copies until those girls grow up or until you get to lazy to even do that.
Then the last straw- I said to hubby she was pregnant about 2 weeks before she announced it so wasn't surprised when she did, I know pregnancy is not always easy and yes after more and more of them you get super tired etc but omw woman you DO NOT work you stay at home all day with one child and have a sahm husband to boot there is no excuse to be so lazy and useless, she literally does nothing I would kill to be at home with my kids and have the money to take them everywhere or anywhere I can, then she gets pissy about the sex of the baby seriously woman you are pregnant so many woman are denied that privileged, yes gender disappointment exists and there is nothing wrong with wanting one gender but 1st off she knows she is going to have more and 2nd off with all her issues she should just be grateful that she can carry a healthy baby with no issues unlike last time, and every pregnancy is different the whole hb, cravings weight gain myths are exactly that myths they mean nothing absolutely nothing, I was not sick at all with my older 2 but my youngest I was sick every day until the 3rd trimester guess what I still worked I still looked after my kids etc and it was another boy, I craved salty things with my eldest and sweet with my middle son, with my 3rd I only wanted red meat and had been veggie for years.

Her relationship with her mom is unhealthy my mom and I stay a block apart and are very close I see her once maybe twice a week and she looks after my children on special occasions otherwise as she says they are my children and my responsibility to raise etc which is as it should be doesn't mean she loves them any less, yes they grew up with a religious sect mentality where the whole group raised the kids type of thing but that doesnt mean it should be continued her parents left for many reasons I am sure.
Poor Cassie is just cast aside for everything and I think she pays more attention to Ollie when she is there than Missy does, everything is about her even when Cullens father passed away she managed to make it about her, Cassies prom her, her cousins wedding will also be her and FYI missy that is not a baby bump that is indeed fat and not from Ollie that came after I also had the same thing I looked pregnant at 8 weeks and even after 8 pregnancies I can tell you it was fat and not baby bump.
Bryan and her relationship is just plain odd, whether he is gay or not doesn't bother me however if you are and go the route of marriage to the opposite sex at least try from both sides to be happy because your children will see right through it... I do believe she sleeps in a separate bed I know lots of couples who do due to insomnia or snoring from their partner or even co sleeping with their children but they are honest about it just like having a housekeeper if you have one own it don't lie or try to hide it and stop sniveling at each other all the time or making hidden remarks you can cut the tension with a knife sometimes, this is why it doesn't work for most couples to be around each other constantly get a job a real job before your money runs out because it will at some point, I cannot actually believe Ellie and Jared are close with them they are so different in everything especially their parenting and humbleness. The only reason I still watch is because I actually just cannot believe it some of the things they do.... and lastly oh lastly learn to dress like a grown up and for your size, I used to be on the bigger size like Louise from Sprinkle of glitter after 8 pregnancies I managed to get down to a size 32 again it can be done, you are a mom and you are in your twenties bows are cute when worn correctly tight tribal leggings and missed matched cut out tops are not and Bryan yes its hot but would it kill you to wear something other than v necks and shorts once in a while, Missy leave your frikken hair alone it is going to fall out soon the way she is going and there is no need to spend money on new hair and nails etc every other weeks such a waste spend time with your son he needs his mothers attention!!!!

Long time lurker here from the UK. I watched them from right back in the beginning, their first daily Vlogs. I loved it when they lived in their little garage room and they were both working. They were so different back then, creative, humble and really likeable. I would imagine that he money started rolling in when they moved to the bigger house just before Ollie was born as something in their attitudes shifted. Maybe it just coincided with them not working anymore.
It was around then that I stopped watching regularly but carried on dropping in to see how Ollie was developing. That was until they moved out into their own house. Now I just can't watch them. They are lazy and boring these days.
My husband and I have been trying for a second child for 2 years now. With my son I was convinced I was having a girl. I got it into my head, imagined what she looked like and named her. When I found out he was a boy I suffered from real GD. For about 20 mins!! Then I realised how much I already loved that tiny little person and it didn't really matter so long as he was healthy.
It is quite painful seeing Missy acting like such a spoilt brat when all we want is a healthy sibling for our son so desperately.
Also they seem to pick up and drop their friends like hot potatoes. Where are Bryan's friend John and his family and Heidi and Ken Kim?

My previous employers went from broke to semi wealthy to inanely wealthy. When they moved to their new 5.8 million dollar home in San Diego, their entire attitudes on life and parenting flipped. No longer did the mother spend time with her kids, but rather getting facials, manicures, botox, and spending every waking second with her husband, leaving all the kids with the nanny. I was their former nanny, and I'm good friends with their new nanny, and its like night and day.
Money does weird shit to people (the people who let it). I honestly see so many similarities with B and M as I do with my former employers.

just watched an old vlog (love that youtube can order the vids first to last) it was the "like father, like son" where they went and bought a rug for the baby's room. I literally giggled 5 times from them being funny, creative & likable. wow they reallly have changed. also, bryans voice wasnt so sassy. Its sad that the money & fame went to their head bc its OUR views that made them money. now they daily vlog consists of going to the park with mimi. missy on the couch whining of morning sickness and telling us how many times she puked that morning and bryan cooking and cleaning and laundry. wish they would go back to how they used to act!

A few things I noticed in this video -
1. Of course, as many said before, they were soooo much easier to tolerate or even like back then!
2. I love that she talked abt how close she and Jimmy were during their childhood. A stark contradiction to what she just said in her last video about how opposite sex siblings aren't close!
3. I almost spit my drink across the screen when she said she got her positivity from her Grandma. WTH?!
