OT: was it some kind of "car seat" buggy Ollie was in? Like traveling stuff where you just attach your kid's car seat? Does someone knows what it is exactly?
I am sure they bought a branded car seat roller but I always use a luggage cart from Walmart. Just a metal cart that folds with wheels. Use a bungee cord through the belt path and you are good to go for $20.
I think they've had it for the last couple trips. It's essentialy a car seat with wheels and a handle. The Butlers and a few other families have them too. It seems like a pretty handy item. My only question is, children under 2 are usually free (or so I've heard) but does that only apply if they're sitting in a lap? If so, did they rly need to buy another ticket for him?
It literally is a metal luggage rolling cart with Chicco nextfit on it. Nothing fancy, nothing stupendous, that's all it is. Not a combined car seat with wheels. A cart and separate car seat.
I have this exact one.

I was surprised that Cassie isn't getting her makeup done. I mean, it sucks enough that she's alone (unless they left Jimmy behind to hang out with her?), but to have to do her own hair and makeup while her mom has recently paid for massages, nails and Hawaii. I understand they dint have a ton of money, but I think Cassie is being a little left out. We all know Missy probably had "the works" for her prom.
I wonder why the Hollisters aren't in a better financial situation anyway. I mean, it sounded like they split the rent with B&M because it was the only way to afford a nice place. They lived next door to Missy's grandma for years in Idaho, and made it sound like they shared land. I'd be surprised if that was a rental! Is it possible it was more of a compound they lived in and the church would take all their income?
Missy's dad seems like a hard worker, and 15 hour days is a lot to continue to work now that he's getting older. They just don't seem prepared for the future. I understand not everyone can afford to buy a house, but it's curious to me that they have so little. Guess that explains why they aren't pushing B&M to prepare for the future.

People don't seriously PAY to get their hair and make up done for Prom, do they? I just got ready at home, and wore a $50 dress. It's not a wedding (which I also did my own hair and make up for), it's a school dance. That's so weird. Why are so many people so wasteful with their money?
.
You honestly didn't notice most of the girls at your prom had their hair and make up done professionally?
If I were Cassie, I'd be excited my parents were out of town. Freedom!!!

I bet she's even more excited that her bossy older sister isn't there to make more "it's MY prom"jokes. Now she can do her makeup however she wants and not have to hear about how Missy disagrees with her shoe choice.
Watching their vlog actually made me really excited to go visit my dad and brothers this summer in Hawaii. They are in Oahu, but I'm still excited to be going.

Yes. She won't have to wear that hideous blue eyeshadow. Or the "pinky purple" look. With her red dress. Vom.
Anywho... Have we figured out what the cost is their Hawaii stay is? 1000$ for 7 days? Or 700$ per day? The location is incredible. The actual hotel is subpar.

It's a 3 star Aston. (Not giving away anything that wasn't in the vlog). Even if you don't prebook it doesn't come close to $700 a night for both rooms. If it did then they are getting ripped off! The non-refund price came out to less than $2000 for the week for both rooms.... reg price was $400-500 more.

It seems she actually has friends... I stayed out going to parties. No curfew without the parentals.

I'm not making fun of her lol, I'm just saying I can't see her doing very much. She definitely does not seem like the party or very late type to me.
All I know is Cassie is in charter school, has her friends and really likes dogs. I honestly don't know much on her. Same with Jimmy. But we know the world about Mimi!
LOL I stayed at a 5 star resort in Hawaii and their room is....no. Not even close. Just no. I just got back from a weekend getaway in San Diego with my husband and two nights costed us over 700! Are M and B finally saving??? I would go all out in Hawaii but that's just me haha.

That's me too! The resort we stay at on Oahu is 5 star and an ocean view room is $600 a night. That view is to die for though, and the whole wall opens up onto the balcony. Super pricey, but I would share a room with my kid to get a nicer view/room/resort LONG before I'd decide to book a second room just for him
4 or 5 star rooms are prettier. I thought B&Ms room looked run down. And that's no fancy pool either!

Besides the convenience factor of strapping your kid down, it is strongly recommended that ALL children, regardless of age, be in an appropriate car seat in their own seat on the plane. A child sitting unrestrained in your lap is a danger not only to the child but to others on the plane in the event of strong turbulence or a runway accident.

Ok, snobby rant over

No I so feel you! I'm pretty sure my room was 800-900 a night, however I didn't pay for it! it was all granite and marble and just gorgeous! Ocean/pool views. Can't beat it!
Bryan finds the stupidest things to skimp on!
It's all preference. I can't believe they finally didn't splurge on something stupid and we're all surprised and making comments that they should have spent more?... When I go on vacations, I ALWAYS get the cheaper room, because I don't plan on spending time in the room anyway other than showering and sleeping. I'd rather use the money I saved to do cool activities in the area. That's just me. Maybe that's them too.

I never said they should have spent more, I'm just shocked THIS is the time they chose to skimp out lol. I honestly love that they spend spend spend - it makes shit more entertaining.

Not debating getting a cheap room. Debating getting a cheap room....and then getting ANOTHER extra room.
They are paying twice as much without actually getting that much more out of it. To me that's an odd change for them.

And what would we talk about if they didn't??

It doesn't really mean they're "skimping out" because I'm sure they're wasting the money somewhere else anyway
And true enough lmao. When you put it that way... they're so boring I guess talking about their room is acceptable
