Right? Let's say she gets the job.. she works for 3 months and then leaves to peru for 2 weeks. Is that even possible??!! Unless, it's a job interview as an online shoe photographer like last time. Wait... isn't she going to Disney world too??

I can't fault her for getting a job, any job. That's better than just relying on YT. It also builds her job experience, regardless of what kind of job it is. Plus the obvious, it brings in money.

Do we know if she ever actually went to college this spring? I remember seeing pictures of her registering or buying books or something, but do we know if she actually completed the semester/course??

I don't know about America but it's possible in Australia, say an interviewer asks you if you have any holidays coming up, you tell them saying yes I had already pre-booked them. Usually when they ask you, they are interested in you and willing to work around it._809lovely wrote:Right? Let's say she gets the job.. she works for 3 months and then leaves to peru for 2 weeks. In the name of the moon, I shall gossip about you.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
Idk then cause when my mom got a job she waited a year to get vacations (unless there was a fam emergency). I mean why would start a job and leave for vacation 2 months later... i didn't work enough to make vacation hours.. you get me? That's how it goes sometimes. If they're hiring is because they need people... not people leaving lol
Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
Yeah I know that if they are really interested in you they are willing to take note of any preplanned holidays but for an entry level job like Vanessa must be going for, how much of an ideal candidate would she be that they'd employ her over someone whose not gonna be off in 2 months? Unless they are employing in bulk perhaps.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Did anyone catch catfish last night? It was in Charlotte, NC and they went to the same "dance" place Lily goes to. Anyways back into the shadows I go.

Vanessa should get a job instead of going to school. I really don't think having a long-term career is in the cards for her. I doubt she is in school because school takes up a lot of time and that is in no way reflected in her vlogs. Making a little extra income will benefit the family if she works part-time. There is no shame in not having a degree and knowing that you want to be a stay-at-home parent most of the time.

I'm going to be annoyed if this school thing is all smoke and mirrors. Wasn't she supposed to be taking quite a few credits this summer too? Looks like there's a "Life Update" video tonight. Hopefully it's not some super vague non-update update.

Glad she is still in school. She's really lucky to have found a job she can do mostly from home. Whew. I was hoping she hadn't quit school.

When she said she was still in school I could tell how happy and proud she was of herself! It's nice to see her having things going her way and fulfilling what she wants to fulfill

I really wished she would take school more seriously and not think of it as boring. She should have gone to a full time school.
Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I haven't had time to watch the video yet so sorry if she answers this in there but did she ever mention what she was going to school for or what her career plans were? I think she would take school more seriously if she had a career she was excited about.. I can understand her thinking school is boring. I hate school too and can't wait to be done. I prefer working. School is just one of those things that needs to get done but is not very enjoyable.

I think she is pursing some sort of business degreeRawr wrote:I haven't had time to watch the video yet so sorry if she answers this in there but did she ever mention what she was going to school for or what her career plans were? I think right now she is taking gen eds, so it makes sense that she thinks they are boring. Once you start taking classes related to your major it becomes more exciting

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
She is finished the gen eds except for maths. Then she is taking business classes. I think that's realistic for her. It's a general degree that could go in different directions. Even if you enjoy your program, it doesn't mean you love every single class. Or if the material is too easy, it's also boring. A lot of reading is boring. I think it's a pretty common sentiment about school. As long as your final job satisfies you and makes you happy, that's what counts.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
It's nice to see her in a good place. Honestly.
... However, I think her education is more of a "Hobby" than people want to admit.
Yes, it's great she's still in school, but with the run down SHE gave of her schedule, I think it's fair to assume her class load is incredibly light. Light class loads do not usually equal major degree's... Light class loads are usually associated with upgrading or hobby courses...
Hopefully she can juggle it all. If she can't, I hope she makes the right choices for her & her family, not choices based on what the internet wants to see her do!

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I see your point Snow. I can understand your POV too. I actually thought she dropped school for a job, and was thinking whatever, a job is income. She is still moving forward, even if it is slow progress. Because she's going to a "real" school, it all counts for something. Whether she turns it into something or not remains to be seen, but again, I can't fault her on juggling being a mother, holding down a job (even pt), and school (also pt). Plus she's not out having more kids she knows they can't afford yet. She's making much better choices these days. I think she is showing maturity.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I don't get why she shoves juicing, working out, and couponing down our throats but thinks vlogging about school is boring. I'm personally more interested in her schooling than seeing her jog on that trail 500 times. It does seem like she's taking a light load. I thought she said she was taking 4 classes. I took two classes this summer and was on campus every single day so I find that really hard to believe. As much as I'm happy for Vanessa, I feel like she's just going to drop out and quit her job in a few months because that's what she always does. She gets so into things and then just quits and never speaks of it again. I hope I'm wrong though.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
If you find school boring, including gen eds, that's not a great sign that you're motivated to stay in school. I found all my classes interesting - sociology, biology, comparative literature, things that had no bearing on my major - even if I had incredible difficulty with the material. School is supposed to engage you. That's the entire point of higher education. Engagement inherently equals interest. But if she can get through her classes and still get good grades while thinking they're boring, whatever works...
