Everything you said is TOTALLY true. I honestly can't fathom quitting a job for youtube. Who knows if it will even be relevant in 5, 10, 15 years.. What are these people's back up plans? And you can't tell me they're saving money and being frugal when most of them (Daily Bumps, Cullen and Katie, etc) are spending money on trips and all these clothes and crap for what...DrYoutube wrote:I think the whole thing is real. What boggles my mind is that yet another Youtuber is quitting their job to do Youtube full time.A nurse makes good money first of all. Sam wants to be home all the time now to be with his family. Nia is happy. Why do so many channels quit their regular lives to do this?? Boggles my mind. Youtube takes 45 percent of the ad revenue automatically ,then they have a tax of about 30 percent to deal with. I wish them well. All I know is content suffers dramatically when people do this. Ellie and Jared are an exception. I can not even watch Katie and Cullen anymore because while they are good people, the videos are like watching paint dry. Katie left a child psychiatry practice for this ?? Does anyone else feel the same ??

Re: Sam & Nia
Well firstly I just want to quickly say thanks to all the women who shared their brief miscarriage stories. I know some would be ok with it all, but it's not always a pleasant time to remember and I've been there so I know people don't always want to talk. I just didn't want to leave that unsaid in case it makes a difference to someone.
But seriously, in today's video they open with a clip of Nia watering the Angel Plant (which is called a Peace Lily here, still symbolic I suppose) and then later Symphony is just hanging out trying to do a puzzle and Sam asks her a bunch of times "But have you been sad about the baby some more? Have you been sad about the baby being gone?" Like, wtf? When I first saw their videos I thought they were kind of cute, but soooo many red flags.

A really good article about them that mentions the daily bumps and even Ellie and Jared.

Re: Sam & Nia
Has ANYONE stopped to consider that Nia may be having the wool pulled over her eyes as well?
Maybe Sam is the only one who knows that the test was fake. Maybe he TOLD her that she was pregnant, and then when she started her period, Sam was like "woah, you must have had a miscarriage".
If he DID get fired (or maybe is just such a megalomaniac that he quit) he thought he had to do something big, something desperate, to push their viewership?
As big of a control freak as he is, I can completely see this kind of sociopathic behavior (including prodding the kids for reactions repeatedly).

Hmmmmm... That's an interesting theory!!! It would make sense why she seemed more genuinely emotional in their miscarriage video. She was actually crying, where he just looked tired and constipated.HoosierMama wrote:Has ANYONE stopped to consider that Nia may be having the wool pulled over her eyes as well?

Also... He looks like a villain in this picture... Maybe he is in real life too! Lll

Hahaha I LOVEDDD that article. They kinda got the DB's story wrong. I love how they referred to them as the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" of YouTube family clogging. Hahahaha.maplecross wrote:http://www.slate.com/articles/technolog ... 00_00.html

Re: Sam & Nia
That article is SO good! Perfectly said! It's not the vlogging and life sharing I'm against, it's the stupid fakeness and click bait titles that try to make their normal life seem so much more interesting than it is all in hopes something goes viral. I love the honeyboo boo reference, perfect!
Re: Sam & Nia
Also could be that the test was a false-positive. Any sciencey people here know if the pee being diluted give it a higher chance of it being a false-positive?Jessi31 wrote:Something was extremely fishy about the pregnancy announcement and the miscarriage video. It looked so staged and set up. Sam could easily have got his hands on a positive pregnancy test from his work. Maybe because her period was 2 weeks late, they both assumed she was pregnant. So Sam decided to take a positive test from his work and stage the video. Then her period came so they were forced to say Nia miscarried. They obviously assumed she was pregnant but wanted to make a money making viral video.

Re: Sam & Nia
Did anyone notice how rude Sam is to his siblings? Like I felt bad for his big brother David...poor guy couldn't even relax and play his angry birds.....like seriously that is such a fun game and he probably ruined it for him! Did you guys notice Abram first hitting Logan and then Symphony? They don't even discipline their kids properly....he like laughed it off. Sam is living in glory right now with all this extra attention....I think he refers to himself as "God" sometimes since he's so high on himself hahaha. I literally think they are going to try real hard in every video to keep bringing up the miscarraige as if it's their golden ticket to YouTube!

Timing
Waiting too long after collecting a urine sample can interfere with the reading as well. Many kits can be used by placing the test in the urine stream rather than dipping it into a sample. If you are collecting a sample for a pregnancy test, it is important to make sure that you use it within 15 minutes. On the other hand, you want to make sure that you give the test enough time to work. Some kits require a few minutes to develop an accurate reading. Make sure that you give the test enough time to produce a reliable result and double-check the expiration date on the test's package
Most sites are saying it would have diluted it and made it negative. But we're not even sure if the test actually showed up positive cause he didn't show it happening.
Idk for a nurse he seems pretty stupid.

Re: Sam & Nia
Yes most people say even drinking too much water before taking the test can give it a false negative. But these people did a test to see if diluted urine from a definitely pregnant woman would show up as positive and it did. It probably didn't sit over night, and she's more than just 4-6 weeks pregnant but still. http://www.roverradio.com/watch/highlig ... ilet-water

Re: Sam & Nia
Diluting your urine couldn't give you a false positive. Although another thing to consider is that she would have gotten up to use the toilet multiple times during the night by her own account, so it may not have been as diluted as we're assuming.
Ugh I can't believe I actually thought about that...

Re: Sam & Nia
I love the Honey Boo Boo comparison. It's so accurate.
Isn't it illegal to post a picture or video of someone online after they've said no? The barista clearly said she did not want to be on YouTube and Nia filmed her anyway.

Re: Sam & Nia
Correct me if I'm wrong I can't remember but, does the baby already have a heart beat at 6 weeks? I was always scheduled after 10 weeks? for the doctor to find the heart beat so I'm a bit confused

Re: Sam & Nia
I'm pretty sure it starts beating at either 5 or 6 weeks, at least that's what I was told. You cannot detect it until at least 8ish though. But also I don't think there could be a way for them to know if it ever did beat? it was more of a cute catch phrase, not medically accurate.

Lmao I am so here for these articles exposing them. Out of all the vlogging families these guys make me the maddest. I guess since they think they are soooo much better because they are Christians, even though they seem hateful and are liars.

I thought it was really interesting in the buzzfeed article about Sam not quitting his job... Anyone have theory about that? HR would have known if he was fired, right?
