Party Planning?

So my friend is pregnant, due on the 28 of Feb ( next year is a leap year as well so fingers cross it wants to be early, two days late or on time) and me and a friend are organising her baby shower, we are aiming it at either mid October or November.

Frankly I need some advice as I've never planned a baby shower before and want to know what you guys did for yours or if you ever organised one before. I have some ideas I want to show her to see if she would like it.
