From what I've read about feeding my 2 year old, it's actually important for a tot that age to have a lot of carbs and starches. But there's probably way too much sugar in all of that.
Kids need balanced meals, not all carbs in one meal. Each meal should contain protein, fruit, veggie, grain and dairy. I try to stick to this when feeding my own kids. It's just common sense to not give a chubby toddler with chubby genes a plate of carbs with nothing good in them for breakfast. :(

Chubby toddler? Please tell me you are not fat shaming a toddler. Ollie is not even chubby.

It's not "fat-shaming", it's a statement of facts. His height is in the 50th percentile, but his weight is in the 75th. That means that even though he's shorter than 50% of children his age, he's heavier than 75% of children his age. That takes a LOT of forced calories to acheive, as shorter bodies naturally want to be leaner and don't feel "hunger" as much as taller bodies, unless you train your body to ignore its natural hunger cues. Weight percentile should be equal or lesser than height. When you go too far off from that ratio, you end up with a child who is either under or over weight for their height.
There's no "shame" in being a bit huskier. But there are also health concerns with being perpetually on the heavier side, especially when it starts in early childhood. He is genetically predisposed to being overweight, which just means that B&M have to work extra hard to combat that, not use "muh genetics" as an excuse to feed their kid a piss poor diet of highly processed carbs.

Oh now I'm just cringing with embarrassment.
There is literally no one at that Sprinkle except Missy's family, Ellie and Jared, and Missy's hairstylist's family (and its also their house).
It just shows they have absolutely NO friends outside of family.

Edited to add: Bryans dad and his family are also there. Shocking! But also strange. lol

Title: CELEBRATING BABY FINLEY!
Length: 13:28

Summary:
The vlog today begins in the afternoon... Ellie, Calvin and Jared are lounged on the sofa. Jared talks football and Bryan asks what the score was, pretending to care about sports LOL. Calvin is rested adorably on Ellie. Oh em genie, exclaims Bryan. All the kids are napping so everyone is relaxing. Bryan explains that today is Missy's baby sprinkle. Missy explains that it's not a regular shower where people bring gifts, but more of just a celebration. For lunch, they are having mini corn dogs because "We're adults and we can do what we want."

Ellie does Missy's hair while watching Cullen and Katie. Bryan goes to wake up Ollie and tells him that today is Fin's baby celebration. Ollie goes to see Calvin, he is adorable around him. Ollie and Jackson eat pizza for lunch.

Ollie is upset because Bryan put both of his legs into one leg of his shorts. He crys about it and Bryan asks him to walk around like that. Missy complains about being uncomfortable and hopes she's good for the party.

They arrive at the sprinkle and show a montage of the decorations. It is really adorably decorated. Whoever decorated did an amazing job. Everyone feels the baby belly. Cassie and Mimi are present, as well as the girl who sings with Bryan, Missy's aunt. Lots of other people. INCLUDING BRYANS DAD AND HIS FAMILY (who are only on camera for a few moments).

They say a blessing over the food (Olive Garden), Missy's aunt says "Pregnant ladies eat first" and Missy is fine with that... Bryan films the whole prayer which seems pretty inappropriate considering everyone else is holding hands and have bowed heads. After they eat... much like the other day, Ollie jumps out of the hot tub into the pool.

Back at home during bath time, Missy says she had a great time and loves that she has such a great family who think of her. She speaks to the idea that a baby shower is only for the first baby. She says she thinks its a cultural thing, but her family has always had a celebration for each baby no matter what.

Oh my God, Missy's skin at the end of the video when she's giving Ollie a bath looks terrible! She looks like she's in her 40's! I'm only a few years younger than her and my skin does not look like that, and I hope it never does.

I may have heard incorrectly but didn't she say his weight was something like in the 20th percentile?

Mini corn dogs, pizza and cookie dough. Keep packing it on, Bry Bry. Your tank tops have never looked better.

I just went and checked and she said his height is in the 25th percentile and his weight is in the 50th percentile.

He's not overweight if he's in the 75th percentile. More importantly than his weight, is if he's active and eating a variety of healthy foods. Pick on that, not his weight. You know what's going to make Ollie unhealthy? If he thinks at 2 freakin years old that he's fat. I was in fifth grade when my mom let me try dieting. I was a normal kid but thought I was fat. It's messed up.

He's not active or eating a variety of healthy foods. He eats bananas and blueberries, and an occasional apple. He's been active this past week because Ellie and Jared have been there, and won't sit around the house. He's been to the park more this past week than he's been the whole summer. A short swim at the end of the day and playing on that Little Tykes slide in the living room isn't enough for a two-year old. Nor is a bit of jumping on the mini-tramp. Kid lives on pancakes, quesadillas, and chicken nuggets.

I agree with criticizing the foods they feed him and that they aren't active enough with him. He eats too much processed junk.

I don't know why people get so personally offended by comments on this board! We're talking about the Lumps, not you. I get that everyone has some personal past trauma/story about literally everything we discuss but...calm down. No one is talking about you, insulting you, or otherwise trying to bring you into the situation!

And this goes for everyone btw. I swear to god we can't say anything about Bryan and Missy without "well I do that too but my hubby works 400 hours a week and I'm not lazy at all", "I don't think it's cool to call them ugly because someone called me ugly when I was born and I never recovered!!!!", "I had a second baby shower but only because my entire house burnt to the ground and I lost everything I own so don't judge people okay everyone on this board is so rude!!!!"

I'm glad Ellie was there when Bryan put Ollie's leg through one pant leg. She tried to play with him about it to make it him less upset while Bryan just wanted to laugh at him and film his discomfort. Ugh.

I like that baby Finn had a sprinkle. At least when he looks back at the pregnancy one day he'll see that family and friends were there to celebrate him, including his paternal grandpa! Doesn't really make up for the crap Bumpdates and barely talking about him for most of the pregnancy, but at least he has something. Plus, even if Missy thinks the sprinkle is all about her he can take comfort in knowing that other people showed up for him.

Personally, I love babies, women, families and even if someone had their 12th sprinkle I'd be ecstatic to attend and pick out a special gift and love on them. ^_^ I know someone who asked that people bring a book instead of a card for a GENDER REVEAL @ 16 weeks and that is a bit of a tacky gift grab especially since there was going to be a baby shower later on (do people normally bring cards to gender reveal anyway?).

I disagree with things said and don't say anything. This is about a kid though. It's just ridiculous to criticize a kid's weight.

It's super tacky to tell your guests what to give you, especially when it's not even a gift giving party. I also can't stand when people ask for books instead of cards. A good book costs usually $10-$20.

I don't like the whole sprinkle thing. It's not a celebration of the baby. If it was, celebrate with him actually present.
