DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Around my area it is normal to have a little
Shin dig after the baby is born and they do a little meet and greet. It's just a fun little social with snacks and cake and you just get to visit. Some people bring gifts but the point of it is to meet baby and catch up

PREACH! I like to add to this as well, please stop comparing your child (or any other YT child) to Ollie. Every child is different and will learn eventually. Stop with all the, "my child is younger than Ollie and knows how to speak in full sentances and can speak three languages!" Just stop.RootBeerFloatie wrote:I don't know why people get so personally offended by comments on this board! We're talking about the Lumps, not you. I get that everyone has some personal past trauma/story about literally everything we discuss but...calm down. No one is talking about you, insulting you, or otherwise trying to bring you into the situation!
And this goes for everyone btw. I swear to god we can't say anything about Bryan and Missy without "well I do that too but my hubby works 400 hours a week and I'm not lazy at all", "I don't think it's cool to call them ugly because someone called me ugly when I was born and I never recovered!!!!", "I had a second baby shower but only because my entire house burnt to the ground and I lost everything I own so don't judge people okay everyone on this board is so rude!!!!"

That actually sounds a lot more fun than a "sprinkle" aka "give me more presents"Sweet456 wrote:Around my area it is normal to have a little

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Nobody is pointing and laughing at him for being fat. We're fairly criticising their parenting choices and the kinds of things they feed him, and the lack of exercise he gets. Let's face it though: kid's gonna be fat. Look at his father, aunt, and grandmother. Unless they make a family change, Bryan and Oliver are going to end up morbidly obese. It's not fat shaming, it's fact, and unless you think two year old Oliver is going to come read this forum, we're not hurting anyone's feelings by saying it.
Back on topic, I'm not going to criticize Missy for the sprinkle. It seems like it truly wasn't about gifts, but about celebrating Finley. We've been going on for months about how she doesn't acknowledge or do anything for him and she finally did, so I'm happy about that. Even though she probably didn't plan the thing, it's a good step.

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Im surprised they even did a sprinkle for Finn, you would think that with Missy being so delusional that there's still a possibility that Finn might still be a girl, that the last thing Missy wants to see is boy clothes. But then again, this is a "grown" ass women who has to have a birthday week, so of course she'll do whatever to get attention.lmmomSD wrote:That actually sounds a lot more fun than a "sprinkle" aka "give me more presents"Sweet456 wrote:Around my area it is normal to have a little

I was just thinking a Sip and See would be a better way to celebrate Finley. Especially since they don't need anything for him. Plus it keeps unwanted visitors away when the baby is born.Sweet456 wrote:Around my area it is normal to have a little

I'm thinking Mithy will definetely get induced at 39 weeks if Finn doesn't come before because there is just no way she will let something like childbirth or planning a kid's party every year come in the way of her "birthday week"

Sounds like it to me! My son is picky as shit when he eats. So, I am just happy to see a kid eat. Obviously, he should have healthy choices.. But, you can only do so much with someone who has a mind of their own lol

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
But from another point of view, people get upset when there are comments making sweeping generalizations that seem like anyone that does "a particular thing" is wrong/bad. Such as anyone that feeds their child a breakfast of pancakes is going to make their kid fat because there's no protein. Just playing devils advocateRootBeerFloatie wrote:I don't know why people get so personally offended by comments on this board! We're talking about the Lumps, not you. This thread is seriously so stupid now. I feel like we can't talk about anything without hurting Bryan and Missy's feelings or starting a huge debate. Let's make it all stop please!

I know kids can be super-picky. But Missy seems to encourage it and be proud of Ollie becoming picky. Like "oh, look, he's just like me!" When maybe if he had a chance to try some different things, he might like them.MommySince2013 wrote:Sounds like it to me! My son is picky as shit when he eats. So, I am just happy to see a kid eat. I don't see an issue with comparing kids really. Like yes all kids develop differently but there is a standard for a reason and when a kid is way behind for their age and amongst their peers, yeah it's a problem.
Just the opinion of an internet stranger. Don't take anything personally, for your own sake as well as mine.

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
It's mostly just annoying because --and this may come as a shock to some of you--pretty much no one cares about your son/daughter/niece/nephew/cousin's development. Like not even a little bit. It's true and obvious Oliver is behind but it doesn't mean we need a story about all the other kids in the world.Deadhead_kay wrote:I don't see an issue with comparing kids really. Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Oooops, I let my 15 months old have porridge(oatmeal) with fruit every morning...she doesn't like eggs and even if she did, for me eggs would be more of a lunch-y foodnutbagmcgee wrote:Kids need balanced meals, not all carbs in one meal. Each meal should contain protein, fruit, veggie, grain and dairy. I try to stick to this when feeding my own kids. It's just common sense to not give a chubby toddler with chubby genes a plate of carbs with nothing good in them for breakfast.sbandob3 wrote:From what I've read about feeding my 2 year old, it's actually important for a tot that age to have a lot of carbs and starches. But there's probably way too much sugar in all of that.nutbagmcgee wrote:Ollie was eating oatmeal, pancakes and a muffin. Jesus Christ. Have these people ever heard of carbs?

It is so boring to come on here and see post after post about everyone's kid... I get it... I have a toddler and the urge to compare is strong. But seriously no one gives a fuck and it's so boring to read.

Every time someone tries to police the forum it turns into several pages of disagreement. I don't mind reading about other people's kids as a comparison to Ollie. I don't enjoy all the arguments on here lately about what we should and shouldn't post. For me all opinions are welcome.

I had that thought for both her and Ellie in that photo. (Untag me) Haha. It was not a flattering photo!lurkymclurkerston wrote:Ahh Missy has crazy person eyes in that hot tub photo. I always feel like most of her photos look like "omg you better untag me ASAP" type bad photos. Then I realize she posts most of them herself.
I wonder who's house the sprinkle is at?? In the lone guest picture, the house actually looks tasteful. Have we seen her parents current house inside yet? I just can't picture Missy's family having a cute looking home. Such bad taste.

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
His weight percentile is 25% higher than his height percentile. That means he's heavy for his height. Shorter people require fewer calories, and need to maintain a lower body weight for optimal health. Bryan and missy feed their 25th percentile (height) toddler enough calories for a kid in the 50th percentile. To simplify the numbers, they're essentially feeding their kid 25% more calories than his body needs to be at its ideal health level. That's not fat shaming, that's just math.Cgl33 wrote:He's not overweight if he's in the 75th percentile. More importantly than his weight, is if he's active and eating a variety of healthy foods. Pick on that, not his weight. You know what's going to make Ollie unhealthy? If he thinks at 2 freakin years old that he's fat. I was in fifth grade when my mom let me try dieting. I was a normal kid but thought I was fat. It's messed up.Theirmom wrote:It's not "fat-shaming", it's a statement of facts. His height is in the 50th percentile, but his weight is in the 75th. That means that even though he's shorter than 50% of children his age, he's heavier than 75% of children his age. That takes a LOT of forced calories to acheive, as shorter bodies naturally want to be leaner and don't feel "hunger" as much as taller bodies, unless you train your body to ignore its natural hunger cues. Weight percentile should be equal or lesser than height. When you go too far off from that ratio, you end up with a child who is either under or over weight for their height.Cgl33 wrote: Chubby toddler? Please tell me you are not fat shaming a toddler. Ollie is not even chubby.
There's no "shame" in being a bit huskier. But there are also health concerns with being perpetually on the heavier side, especially when it starts in early childhood. He is genetically predisposed to being overweight, which just means that B&M have to work extra hard to combat that, not use "muh genetics" as an excuse to feed their kid a piss poor diet of highly processed carbs.
