By eight years old, I definitely knew not to leave kids unattended in water. Heck, by then I had parents giving me their small children to swim with that were Ollie's age in the water because I was that good of a swimmer and would keep their kids out of danger. Probably not the brightest decision on their part, but no kid drowned or even went underwater on my watch!snailmadge wrote:Slightly off topic, but I cannot fathom just how stupid people have to be to defend this crap. Bryan, Missy, and co. doing this "test" in the first place is gross enough, but people in the comments defending their decision? SICKENING. Yeah, yeah, they're kids and don't know what they're saying, but it really reflects on THEIR parents parenting. Maybe my expectations were too high, but until today I assumed that even an eight year old would know a child should never be left in a pool unattended. This isn't "adult" knowledge like contractions and pre term labor, this is basic shit!
And if Bryan tries to lecture us and justify his shitty actions ... so help me.
Definitely agree. If you're aware that a child is not the best or most proficient swimmer, why even "test" him? Why run a risk? It makes absolutely no sense. Like you have all said, anything could've happened. There is absolutely no need to purposely place your child at risk, no matter how small or how large that risk might be.southernmama2014 wrote:Idunno but he shouldn't even be allowed outside alone for a minute alone at 2 yrs old especially since they have a pool. Just because it's gated doesn't mean shit. Kids can spontaneously learn how to open a gate and boom. It makes me sad because you would think they wouldn't even TEST their child, because Missy said Oliver knows he can't swim. I don't know. This really just makes me hurt.

Exactly. Swimming lessons, floaties, or other flotation devices on a toddler should not mean automatic safety to you. If you know your child might not be safe, why risk it? Watching this clip seriously made me nervous. He's only 2 and anything could've happened. They were on the other side of the fence! There was a possibility he might've needed help.. How can you be so sure that you would've gotten to him before anything serious happened?glowingrooms wrote:but even then keep within arms reach of them.
I had a similar situation. I was on a big cheap inflatable tube, and it flipped. If my friend hadn't grabbed me I may not have been hereOhHiImSam wrote:Fun Fact:
I almost drowned in a pool when I was five because one of my water wings deflated and no one was by the pool (I don't remember why the adults weren't outside yet but I didn't want to wait for them). Luckily my brother heard me screaming from the kitchen and rushed out to save me.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR MIRACLE BABY IN THE FUCKING POOL BY HIMSELF.
Ugh, they better hope this isn't the vlog CPS stumbles upon.... Purposely endangering their child.
Yeah, I'd love to see them mingle with Shaycarl And him hit Daxton. Watch them FINALLY discipline him then XDLuckyCharm wrote:Ollie has rules when he's in the pool area? Doesn't he also have rules that include not hitting other children? Because he sure as hell doesn't follow that rule! I forgot all two year old kids follow every rule and never break them....
That happened to me before in a public pool in the deep end. Fell off a floaty that was being pulled by my cousin and my dad had to run and jump in to save me.Terrifying. A child can drown in a blink of an eye.twomommies wrote:I had a similar situation. I was on a big cheap inflatable tube, and it flipped.
