Kids cost "a lot" in the long run but generally babies truly need hardly anything. I just had my second son, and probably spent under $300 for everything he needed. Storebrand diapers work just fine and I spend under $20 a month for that. My older son is 2 and things haven't changed much. I'm astounded by how affordable having kids is. The DailyBumps are on the completely opposite end of the baby-spending spectrum.glowingrooms wrote:Somehow seeing the prices on baby things solidifies my decision to never ever have kids. I agree with you 100%. We spent 300 or so for my daughter and the rest were gifts. The only things we bought were a baby swing at 2 months old cause she wouldn't sleep alone and was a lifesaver, and 100 after trading in a car seat for another. Now she's 18 months and I pay maybe $25 a month for her, not including food (which isn't much, she eats what I eat). $20 for a 3x big box of Kroger diapers and $5 for a 3 piano of pampers wipes. She's way less expensive than people made it out to be. M&b just have to buy every thing, regardless if it's needed. Gotta spend that YouTube cash, cause to hell with saving money! I mean, they would thousands upon thousands in savings if they saved money for every shitty unneeded product they buy.sbandob3 wrote:Kids cost "a lot" in the long run but generally babies truly need hardly anything. Child care is what's costly! The rest all depends on your preference on brands and whatnot. Or baby's preference if they're difficult.

I feel like they spend it as fillers for their videos, so you won't just see them laying around all day and going out to eat....there's a new package every day! If you have Prime and spend as much as they do, you'd better at least tip the UPS guy at Christmascastrofreak wrote:I agree with you 100%. We spent 300 or so for my daughter and the rest were gifts. Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Childcare I can understand. Other then that, babies aren't going to care if you buy the expensive brands. I'm poor as crap so I don't have a choice, but even if I did nothing would compel me to spend hundreds of dollars more just for stuff that looks nicer, especially when the items become useless and unneeded within months. And so much crap is completely unnecessary. Go to any of those "essential baby items" lists and half the crap is not at all essential. M&B are throwing away cash just to impress themselves and others.

Oops accidentally hit enter and took too long editing. Was gonna say-- don't they have a brand deal with Honest? At the very least, that might explain why they registered for the stuff.lmmomSD wrote:Don't they have a brand deal with

I think the Honest Company sent a bunch of YTers a sampler pack. Not sure if that counts as a sponsorship.

They were sponsored once. They are back to using Babyganics again.lmmomSD wrote:Oops accidentally hit enter and took too long editing. Was gonna say-- don't they have a brand deal with Honest? My guess is that Honest realized it didn't bring in any additional revenue for them (Honest diapers are expensive! You pretty much have to be willing to pay way more based on the Eco/natural/cruelty free thing).
Most of the DB viewers are kids anyway, and not in the market for diapers.
We haven't seen many subscription box sponsors lately have we?
Eta: I don't judge them for having the Honest items on their registry. I love Honest and use as many of their products as possible on my boys. I do question wanting Eco-friendly products and trying it appear "crunchy" when you're the type to throw out sippy cups and use paper plates daily.

Was their registry posted in comments? I'm wondering if the minions were buying crap for them.

Missy is bouncing on an exercise ball on Bryan's snap story.
Trying to induce labour, or just trying to get Finn in a comfy position? Methinks the former.

What's the point of a belly cast? I didn't know they were a thing until she was pregnant with Ollie. They just seem like a piece of junk to me.
Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
I've always thought they were weird. Lucy Eades did them too.bffb3 wrote:What's the point of a belly cast? I didn't know they were a thing until she was pregnant with Ollie. They just seem like a piece of junk to me.
But then, I only have like three photos of me where I'm obviously pregnant, so I'm not necessarily a fan of remembering my bump lol.
Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
I don't think belly casts are weird. I like the idea of them, but I do think they are ugly. The only kind I like are painted belly bowls like this one:
Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
It shows how " big " your bump was. It's actually a sweet memory. I had a belly cast for my stillbirth (before she passed) and one for my son, and I'll do it again with my current baby.bffb3 wrote:What's the point of a belly cast? They aren't necessarily " junk " because months or years later, you can look at it and it keeps the shape of your belly. It's sweet.
But not everyone does it, a few of my friends think it's junk too :p
Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
I liked the vlog yesterday. They were together as a family. They actually had all of their attention on the kids. And seeing Missy and Bryan cuddling on the couch at the end was sweet. It reminded me of the much older vlogs. If they were like that all the time, I might go back to appreciating them. I'd just like to see more daily activities with Ollie (and Finn in the future). I wish they stayed like that all the time. Missy was actually laughing with Bryan and looked like she was having fun.

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
I didn't see what everyone else did in yesterday's vlog. I saw typical Bryan trying too hard to be funny in the store. Both of them acting like white trash letting Ollie run around and mess with stuff while Princess just shopped around and ignored it. Bryan almost dropped Ollie on his head FFD! Ollie got scared and cried and Missy just turned around like "anyway" and kept vlogging. No empathy for her child that was just scared. Oh, more stupid purchases and dragging a fussy Ollie out to eat (they obviously went there after and just didn't show it).
Then Bryan tweeted about how The day with Ollie had been "challenging", which of course we hardly saw except the shopping trip. They just painted a pretty picture.
And no Bryan, the rain doesn't make you guys lazy because you aren't used to it.... everything does!

Re: DailyUnnecessaryPurchases- Part 35
Sorry for the double post but I just have to add....
I think it's funny anyone can go back to liking them after a couple good vlogs. These are the people that tried to scam a horse ranch, and just "tested" to see if their 2 year old can swim well enough to save himself while unattended
How easy some forget I guess.

I agree. I didn't see what everyone else saw either. The acted the same as they always do in my opinion. And you are right about the tweet...did we see any of the "challenging" day with Ollie? Of course not! They should have.HelloSweetie1 wrote:I didn't see what everyone else did in yesterday's vlog. I saw typical Bryan trying too hard to be funny in the store.
