I don't even think it's debatable. I've given birth to three children without medication, the last one was posterior with back labour. There is no doubt in my mind that c-section recovery is hands down more painful. It's major abdominal surgery. Labour isn't easy. It's hard work, it's painful, and there is definitely a recovery period. Which can be pretty painful if you've got haemorrhoids, an episiotomy or natural tears. But it's not major surgery that cuts into the core muscles of your body that you need to do literally everything.
