Pre-TTC
Pre-TTC
My husband and I are getting ready to TTC soon. We were wondering if there is anything we can do now to help us along later. Prenatals, diet, ect..

Re: Pre-TTC
I'd start prenatals maybe the month before trying. As for now I'd keep up with your regular multi vitamins. I have a shorter cycle so I started taking B-12 to lengthen it (so there'd be more chance of a pregnancy sticking). My husband started taking L carnetine (don't know the spelling) as it helps with sperm count and just overall better sperm in terms of motility and quality. Good luck! I wish y'all the best!️

No more alcohol/ cigarettes/ black tar heroin. Eat whole foods. Drink plenty of water to put your body in tip-top shape. I also heard that the male eating walnuts helps. You could look more into that. Good luck! <3

Re: Pre-TTC
Wean off medications if you are on any (speak to dr first), start prenatal, start folic acid, quit the bad habits, get in shape/healthy if needed.
Re: Pre-TTC
Start prenatals ASAP and make a dentist appointment -- you can't have much done while pregnant so it's always good to get a check up and deal with any of those issues first.
Re: Pre-TTC
I don't ever post here anymore, but I've been seeing a fertility specialist for a while now.
Low dose asprin once a day is amazing for blood flow. Don't take extra folic if you are already taking a prenatal. Have a blood panel done. If your vitamin D is low at all, it greatly reduces your chances.
Best thing you can do for your diet is low carb. I can't stress this enough. So many women have gotten pregnant after years of trying just by low carb diet alone.
Ultimately, every woman has an average of a 40% chance each month of getting pregnant if they have sex around ovulation.
90% of all couples should conceive within the first year of sexual activity if you aren't actively preventing pregnancy. If you aren't pregnant after a year, seek help from a specialist.

Also, miscarriage rates are slightly higher after getting birth control removed. Your fertility is also slightly higher, but doctors usually recommended a few cycles before trying once tou get it out.
