Just curious because I skipped through the video, but did she actually say she recorded without consent or is it just speculation?

Nona, please go with Vanessa to all future doctor appointments and take her phone away before and during the appointment. Vanessa needs to be focusing on the doctor and what he's saying about Lily, and not about how she's going to prove YTMD wrong.

Vanessa recording the doctor's conversation is not illegal. First, Vanessa was invited into the conversation it's not like she was recording someone else's consultation. Also, the only person who'd have a right to sue is Lily considering Lily is the patient. The fact that she decided to broadcast it to the public at large is pretty sadly, but there's nothing illegal about it. Nothing like parents exploiting their child for coins.
It is illegal to audio record anything without that the other persons consent, it doesnt matter if you're "invited". I dont know why her dumbass even posted it on YouTube for the world to see if it was just meant for Davuud and his family. Since shes so good at editing shit out of her videos after they are already posted, she should seriously edit that part out
Audio or video recording without consent is not illegal. This wasn't a private home. A doctor talking to a patient recorded by the patient is not illegal. There were no laws broken. Do I agree with her doing it? No. Plus, we don't even know if she asked for consent or not.

There is nothing illegal about recording doctor visits and no you do not need permission to do so. You do need consent from anyone that you record whether it's video or audio. There are no laws against it no matter how violated you may feel, but that's good old America for you... :)

Guys, that audio clip was SOOOOOOO staged omg i cant even freaking believe it!! What kind of doctor says, did they shubb it back in orrrr??? Wth? And then being like ohhh no it could happen to anyone, what doctor acts as if something like a prolapse rectum is nothing, especially on a 3 year old. Then saying all those excuses how it could happen to anyone and it has nothing to be with her turners blah blah, explaining what it is as if reading it if google, SO STAGED! Besides didnt she say at the begining that she had already talked to the doctor about it and he said he wanted to run tests to make sure, but then in the imaginary consultation she explains what happened to the "doctor" who responded as if it was the first time hearing about it.

I just cant with this girl really its just so sad and pathetic to me the way she goes out of her way making up shit.

im gonna rant on something that may have been an incidental occurrence, but i strongly believe it is not, because it has happened more then once on purpose from vanessa.

when in the doctors office waiting room, the fact she kept irrelevant footage in the video of the camera angled at her boobs, while lilly sat off ot the side, and in a top that she should not have left the house in.
as a person that is petite and with larger breasts you just know certain tops dont work, baggy tops make you look fat and tight tops can stretch in odd ways and put chest on show; you look like a damn idiot walking around with your top stretched and puckering over your boobs, god wear a singlet underneath so you can unbutton the top few buttons if you are that desperate to wear it.
its not sexy vanessa, you look embarrassing.

also, she is sitting in an empty waiting room with another person right net to her, i doubt you would choose to sit next to another person in such a large empty room.
i assume tracy, is that a baby capsule on the floor and baby babble in the background? (who knows).

rant done.

I really don't know what to think about the recording, the only reason I think it's not real is because of the words the doctor used and the way he described things and typically Vanessa shows the waiting room etc.. she kept that camera right on her chest the whole time. On the other hand, it would be totally crazy to fake a video to take your child out of the Country, I would think she loves Lily enough that she wouldn't risk Lily's health without a real doctor saying it was ok. I personally would keep my child home, I feel it would be too risky if something did happen. This is what happens when you lie a lot Vanessa, it's hard to know when you are telling the truth!

It is legal to record a conversation in NC with another person in NC if you are a party to the conversation. You do not have to ask the other person's permission. However it is highly unethical for Vanessa to do this. I doubt she asked permission and most physicians would be uncomfortable giving permission because of malpractice concerns. If she had asked, the physician would have been more than happy to give her a copy of his report of the examination. If her doctor knew she had done this, he would undoubtedly request that Vanessa and Lily no longer see him and seek out care from another physician.

I just asked my husband who is a physician and he said he's not sure about the legality, because it depends on the state. But he said he would never give consent to post a recording on the internet. He said he may give consent to be recorded, but not to post it. I think that is a real audio recording for sure, most doctors use language their patients can understand. I just think she didn't ask for consent.

The vlogging and driving kills me. I only watched the first minute or so and she talks with her hands and they both come off the wheel multiple times. So dangerous!

If it's not illegal, then why is recording your birth sometimes not allowed? Is it just the workers faces? (An audio of birth would NOT be fun hahaha)

Liability, people are more protective of infants then adults. Say if something was to happen during the birth, or the baby developed something sometime later that was birth related, it could become a lawsuit issue. Recording it just makes more evidence against the doctor if hypothetically he did something unethical or stuffed up from whatever reason.

One of my sisters friends is one of 9/10 kids, her younger sister died in birth because the doctor kept telling her mum to push despite the fact her head wasn't in the birth canal properly. She died due to broken neck. The doctor didn't bother to do a check over to make sure she was in properly and just wanted it to be over and done with. If it was recorded, they could of sued him for negligence easily and most likely won then go with a he said/ she said case.
In the name of the moon, I shall gossip about you.

It's just sad that a trip to Peru means more to Vanessa than her daughters health and safety.

Vanessa must be desperate to get new bootleg DVDs, wine, dish sponges, and an ugly sweater for David that he will mysteriously end up losing.

im in nursing school right now (1 more year til i graduate!) and one thing ive noticed is that medical staff, especially doctors, are VERY nonchalant about a lot of cases and situations and they "dumb down" their vocabulary a lot when explaining things to patients and will use certain wording depending on what they feel is appropriate for that patient. so that may explain why the doctor was speaking in what seemed like an unprofessional manner to vanessa. it's something i'm still trying to get used to as a future nurse because sometimes doctors and nurses will say something so casual or unprofessional, or sound like they are downplaying a patients situation (some times they can come off as uncaring) and i'm just sitting there like "can you even say that to someone?!" but i think it's almost a learned communication skill in the medical field. by saying "did they just shove it back in, or...?" it may have made vanessa able to explain the situation better because the doctor remained so nonchalant about it, like it's not big deal, so vanessa would calmly explain. and a lot of times, medical staff won't know the little details of a situation, like whether or not they "shoved it back in" or exactly what happened, so they'll ask upfront like that. which is also kinda odd to me lol.
i think it was wrong for vanessa to post the conversation, weird that her family wanted a recording, and she probably lied about having to explain it to the doctor before hand on the phone because i agree, he would've already known those things if she had already told him. she probably just wanted to sound cool saying he was going to be running tests, not just asking questions and assessing her

There is no correlation between the trip vs. Lily's health, YET. Although it's something I wouldn't do, she clearly got the medical okay. If the rest of the family agreed, and I'm assuming they all did, then it was a group decision. David's opinion matters just as much, and I guess he's okay with it also. I just pray that nothing happens, whether it is in Peru or back at home. I think they left today. It's already happening.

I agree with everything you said until this sentence. She didn't want to sound "cool", that's an immature way of looking at this. That whole video was exclusively done for YTMD. She wanted to leave no doubts whatsoever about what the doctor said. She shouldn't care, but she does, and she totally shouldn't have gone about it the way she did but it was one way to shut people up. May not have worked, but there's no arguing with what the doctor said. You're used to a more clinical approach, as am I, but I also see docs whose first approach is to dumb things down until I let them know they don't have to do that. Vanessa probably needs it though. ;)

She didn't have to do this for her family. She did it for us. Boggles my mind sometimes, why she goes out of her way to do stupid things, but more than anything it shows that she's not confident in herself, and that she is still immature. She needs to own her decisions regardless of what other people think. If she's wavering so much, maybe she should realize it's not a good choice.
