Gypso, I respect your opinion 100%, and I don't want to come across as snarky, but are you fucking kidding me?gypsophila wrote:There is no correlation between the trip vs. Lily's health, YET. Although it's something I wouldn't do, she clearly got the medical okay. If the rest of the family agreed, and I'm assuming they all did, then it was a group decision. David's opinion matters just as much, and I guess he's okay with it also. I just pray that nothing happens, whether it is in Peru or back at home. I think they left today. It's already happening.imnottired wrote:It's just sad that a trip to Peru means more to Vanessa than her daughters health and safety.

First, if it was my child, I wouldn't give two shits what my extended family thought was best. It would not be a group decision. It would be my decision because I'm the mother. If Vanessa is not capable of making these decisions on her own, then she shouldn't have any say over Lily's medical care.
Second, it doesn't matter if there is a correlation yet or not. The fact that it could, and the fact that it did happen, what, a week ago, would be enough for most mothers to cancel the trip. Doctors can get things wrong sometimes, and they can't predict the future. Hell, the doctors told Vanessa to have an abortion because they were SO certain that Lily wouldn't make it. Look what happened.
And be honest, do you think Vanessa has thought this through? Do you think she has a plan in place if something goes wrong? Honestly, I doubt it. Vanessa probably doesn't think she needs a plan because Lily "healed herself".
