I live in a pretty warm place. I've never had them but I only recall one incident in kindergarten where a kid had lice. I don't think it spread but the school notified the parents right away. My mom always checked my hair when doing it in the morning. She'd casually check and if she saw a spec, she'd pick through my hair like a monkey I thought all moms constantly checked.gypsophila wrote:Bleh this thread is making me twitchy. We've never had lice either. I wonder if it's worse in warmer climates? I mean, of course they exist here, but it doesn't seem like such a problem or a certainty. After reading this thread I'm paranoid and I have no small kids around me at all!

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Wow it's scary how times have changed, in my elementary school, the second the nurse would find lice on you, you weren't allowed to go back to class for the rest of the day or until you got picked up. They would sent out a letter to all the parents about it and what to do to prevent it. I have to say though, no one in my elementary school ever got lice except that girl I mentioned in my last post (who would get at least 2-3 times a school year). I think it wasn't until middle school were they didn't tell you who had lice because they wanted to protect the student, but whenever there was a warning about lice, everyone knew that it was her. It was sad because even in high school, kids would tell her, "aren't you too old to still be getting lice?"red3head wrote:Do you want to know what's crazy? They don't even have to send kids home that have lice. You are allowed to stay at school. The school also does not have to notify the class is a student has lice. I realize some schools still notify, but they don't legally have to. They say life is annoying, but it is not harmful and doesn't spread disease and they would rather kids not miss school. Also, they say by the time they see the bug in a kids head, they have probably had it for a week or two and has already spread. Crazy right?

Eww.. I have never had lice before either. My daughter is school aged and she never has either. We must have some filthy hair if it's true about lice clinging on to clean hair.

Her new about me looks like a 14 year old made it. Seriously she will never mature. She tries to hard to be "cool" that she fails miserably.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Well bleach was probably the worse way to go about it, dying hair kills them and keeps them away due to the ammonia. Lice was always a major problem in schools in my hometown. Kids from the community's never had there washed or checked ( if they even showed up) and they would spread lice all the time. Me and my sister were always getting our hair combed with something different, changing sheets, cleaning brushes. She didn't want to cut/shave our heads like some other mothers had done to their kids. So one day our sports day was was happening the next day, so she decided to dye our hair red for the occasion ( our team colour) with a 8 wash colour, it killed the lice and eggs, and we were lice free for six months which was a record at the time cause it was never ending.Ambrosia wrote:Random but I know this girl I went to high school with who bleached her 8 year old daughters hair to get rid of lice because she kept getting them. Instead of just cleaning throughly and using the shampoo removal way.
Is bleaching your hair an effective way?! It seems harsh to put such strong chemicals on a child's scalp.
In the name of the moon, I shall gossip about you.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't judge her for posting half naked pictures online, I judge her because the way she goes about it is trashy as fuck. I have no problem with nudity, just think it should ge done tastefully.

With our climate and the amount of kids that come from troubled homes (lice left untreated) in our area lice is rife I personally had an instance where my boys kept getting it and I couldn't understand why because we were so vigilant turns out the creche owners daughter had it and she wasn't bothered to do anything about it or keep the child home so she kept on reinfecting everyone, we removed our kids and not a singles issue since!

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Never had lice either. Seems like a pain in the butt so I hope I never have to deal with it; though some things are just unavoidable.
I'm not the biggest fan of nudity but if someone wants to be nude rather than wearing clothes or just wants to show their tots off then that's their decision. I can avert my gaze or not seek out their content so it's not like I'm being forced to look. But for Tayler, who has so much information about her and her children posted online, you sort of want to avoid poking the bear--that's all I'm saying when I comment on her posting something nude or half naked of herself or others. A crazy person could see her pics online and use her internet trail to come close to or pretty much find where she lives. Any, more obscure person, could probably get away with it more than her but given her small yet existent internet presence, she's risking a lot. Not to mention the fact that if someone takes her pics and starts using them for whatever reason it's extremely hard to stop that.
I can't stop her from posting anything. I just have the right to my opinion. Therefore I voice it when she posts nude to near nude pics of herself and others. Because like her, I have the freedom to do so. If she doesn't want someone having something to say about her posting nudes or half naked pics then set them to private or only share with certain people. Otherwise people will talk the same as she can post her pics so just do it or don't without whining about judgement or whatever. Plain and simple.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Yeah she probably got back with Chuckie. I noticed she took the single thing out of her bio. What a stupid bitch. I was beginning to think she finally wised up & got out of that relationship. If chuckie really did do all that shit to her, she's a fucking moron for going back. He probably waved money at her or something.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
According to the comments, she said "f*** no" about getting back with chuckie to those who asked If she was referring to him. My guess is that she's back with Sam.

Sam makes sense. They both have very low standards.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
So she deleted her old askfm, but she posted on there on how she really missed Sam and was upset because she thought that she rushed in too quickly into a new relationship, when she told Sam that she just wanted to stay friends, he said no and stopped talking to her. I thought they broke up because she cheated on him with chuckie (that she later claimed he 'raped' her)?
This chick is so confusing....

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Someone asked who her boyfriend is. She said she doesn't have a "boyfriend". I really think she's back with Chuckie & denying it because she knows what everyone is gonna say.
