Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I am a bit stunned that, in Ruby's video about their food supply, she doesn't seem to feed the kids any vegetables.. Maybe tomatoes in the spaghetti sauce but she seems to feed the kids carbs all day every day. Hey, this seems to be ok.. I haven't watched that many of her videos yet and don't know if her kids get sick a lot. I love Ruby and think she is so smart, and eloquent and a loving mother, so I was a bit surprised that vegetables were not seemingly a priority for the kids.

I can't remember their last name but land records are easy - just google Utah county land records.Shiloh7916 wrote:If you look up Ruby and Kevin's address in Springville, Utah (which is only a 15 minute drive from byu and walking distance from the temple on springville), you will see that it was owned by the Mormon Church. I am not sure if it is still owned by the Mormon Church and perhaps Ruby and kevin are being assisted by the Mormon church.. because I can't imagine Kevin making over 100K, even at 150K, the expenses for what they appear to spend.. with all those musical instruments her expensive taste in clothing for the children the music lessons, their flower garden, their vacation, all of that plus huge food bills. It would be very difficult for them to keep this up if they had a large house payment plus they are still paying off the car. I would imagine that a family like their family, which seems like the absolute perfect Mormon family would be the perfect family for the church to provide housing for. I don't know. I am guessing but if anyone else has access to land records, maybe someone can confirm if their house is still owned by the Mormon Church.
I was surprised to see a Nordstrom catalog on their counter. I know, I know it doesn't mean they shop there.

I felt bad for Chad. He wasn't trying to make her look bad. He was just telling the truth. Shari agreed with him. He looked upset and annoyed when Ruby was singing with Russell... I wonder if it's because the singing/laughing/saying she loves those moments in the kitchen the most are all just an act for the camera and he knows it.
I get the vibe that Ruby favors Shari and Eve. She doesn't seem to have much patience with Abby and Julie. Those two always look so sad. It's good that they have each other at least.

She said when they purchased the house it was trashed by the previous owners. The mom homeschooled and let the kids do math on the walls and it was painted horribly.
Also the kids have like 5 outfits each and that's it. She thrifts and such for the kids as well.
She feeds the kids crap, all carbs. Stuff to fill the belly but not provide much nutrition. Very light on the meat and almost no fruit and vegetables.

That is possible. It could also be that he was annoyed because a can of worms was opened and Ruby disregarded the fact that it upset him. Like...she didn't even feel bad and say sorry. She told him that HE is making HER lool bad, then switched her attention to Russell while Chad was left to deal with his feelings.kaylnoel wrote:I felt bad for Chad. Chad seems to have a lot of angst, it was nice of Shari to back him up.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Ruby doesn't need Chad or anyone else to make herself look bad, she already does quite a bit herself in her blogs just through her attitude.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
The situation with the brush getting put in the vlig baffles me, she has Kevin along with three sisters and a mother she could have complained to about her frustration. Instead she posted it online making herself look like self centered, manipulative ass through making Shari apologize and feel bad from an unintentional situation. And the very next day she does something similarly rude to Chad.

Am I the only one who thinks Chad looks like Landon, Julie's husband? They look so similar!

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
IMO Julie is the one who gets the worst treatment, it's like Ruby is most of the time annoyed with her and she's taking care of someone else's child, Ruby is a little bit better with Abby because she's good with with the harp and that fits in her idea of how her kids should be.kaylnoel wrote:I felt bad for Chad. I was too lazy to search about it, but in when Julie was little she used a see-through helmet, does anyone know anything about that? I feel like Ruby forgets that Evie isn't the only one who is young, all of them need her attention. I find it weird that she's "private" about certain things (Chad being homeschooled, Russell motor skills) and then she vlogs this awkward situations for the kids!

From that description it sounds like Ruby and Ellie have a lot in commonNini12 wrote:IMO Julie is the one who gets the worst treatment, it's like Ruby is most of the time annoyed with her and she's taking care of someone else's child, Ruby is a little bit better with Abby because she's good with with the harp and that fits in her idea of how her kids should be.kaylnoel wrote:I felt bad for Chad. Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Oh dear, the last time I visited this thread was the same day Ruby announced she would be doing daily vlogs. I had a not so great feeling about it and haven't watched a vlog since. By the look of things, I have some catching up to do. I will say now that it bugs me that Evie isn't held accountable for anything. Ruby seems fine with anything she does, including writing on walls. She just seems spoiled and doesn't play well with her cousins imo. I'd not be surprised if she is parenting Eve just as she saw her mother parent Ellie. It's not pretty.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Her kids must think she's a lunatic sitting there crying/bitching to a camera while they're just sitting in the back seat waiting to go in a store. So odd!!
Russell so reminds me of my 4 y/o with something happening and "YOU RUINED IT!!" like it's the end of the world! I definitely wouldn't be filming it though. Her kids basically shut down when she's filming them having a meltdown or other awkward moments. Poor kids!

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Yes not a fan of utilising the children by embarrassing them to cash in...
Poor shari. She got a nice blush brush for Christmas why on earth would she purposefully leave it around for someone to throw it in the bin. It was not her fault. It was an accident.
Did she need a public dressing down? Wow, her mum said sorry to her later in the video but the damage was already done. Shari is at the age where you care what peers think/ perceive you etc, totally not necessary for ruby to vlog this, full on awkward especially when there family/ people they know/ sharis school peers watch. Poor shari, now she's without her blush brush and got a public telling off. Not cool.
I'm sad for Chad ruby doesn't make an effort to go to his games. I am my kids biggest cheerleader, I may miss the odd game but not because I want to.
You never get those times back.
6 kids is a lot if you can't give each of your children special time and make an effort for the games or activities maybe you shouldn't of had so many.
Ruby is a big fan of 'money saving'/being cheap. I can't understand why you would pay so much towards music lessons yet give your kids a lack of veg in their diet and have cheap filler meals also they hardly have meat.
On the whole I think the kids are great but I do feel they don't get much parent time. They always seem to be doing chores or practising music, never seem to do anything fun. I don't find their vlogs interesting, It's like she just wants to be the perfect church going family with a nice house, kids that play music but the vlogs are always the same no activities, no fun, never the movies or swmming or a meal out. Nothing!! No wonder shari got through so many books in half term.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I really felt bad for Chad, he was visably upset that his mom does not, and has not, made an effort to go to his games. And when you consider how much he does to help his mom with her job as a SAHM, the relationship is incredibly one-sided. He helps out a lot around the house and with his younger siblings, and he vlogs for her too! It it too much to expect her to support his games? R
Good point you brought up about having fun in that house. There doesn't seem to be much to do. I never hear of the kids going to their friends' houses or having friends over. They all seem pretty much isolated. Shari did get through all those books in short order!

After watching that Q&A with Shari, I'm pretty convinced that she's more mature than even her own mother. Also, Eve is going to look just like her when she grows up. Holy cow! Each of the kids in that family has a twin pretty much!

I think so too. Regarding the brush incident, I got the impression that Shari knows her mother sometimes over-reacts and was exercising a great deal of patience with her.parryhotter wrote:After watching that Q&A with Shari, I'm pretty convinced that she's more mature than even her own mother. Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I was happy to see that Chad was learning all of his states and capitals (5th grade standard) but then came the part about how he had to mark where all of the Mormon churches were in the U.S. I know reciting and reading scripture is also a big part of his homeschooling day.
The siblings are in public school, is that right? Are there private/parochial schools that are Mormon? Seems the Frankes would want their kids in those kind of schools. Near me, most parochial schools are Lutheran or Catholic (I'm in a Chicago suburb.) so I am just wondering.

In Utah the public schools are majority Mormon in most districts.sarah wrote:I was happy to see that Chad was learning all of his states and capitals (5th grade standard) but then came the part about how he had to mark where all of the Mormon churches were in the U.S. I know reciting and reading scripture is also a big part of his homeschooling day.
