Thank you. Some people like their partners big, some like them small. I'm a lesbian, does not being attracted to Bryan make me a bad person? No. I'm not into butch girls, does that make me a bad person? No. I'm not saying that Bev is ugly, I'm just saying that I don't personally find her gorgeous.

I also don't think a lot of the compliments are genuine. People love to say things that make them seem like a good person without actually believing it. Maybe I'm a bitch but I'm not a fake bitch.

My pet peeve? All the intolerance. I don't expect everyone here to hold hands and sing Kumbaya, but jeez. Let people have their opinions. Root Beer Floatie and Cats don't find Bev attractive. That's their _opinion_. Everything we say on here is our opinion. Different things color those opinions. We don't know jack about each other other than what we say here. We don't know what people have been through. I'm FAR from perfect, and I'm sure people have probably felt disrespected by me, but it's never been on purpose. So instead of getting your knickers in a twist over what someone on the board says, remember it's their opinion. It's not fact. Unless it really is a fact, lol. In which case, getting mad won't change it.

My issue isn't that people find bev unattractive. My issue is saying anybody that compliments fat people is doing it to make themsleves feel like good people, because that's not true. Fat people can be beautiful and not all compliments sent their way are bullshit.d

Opinions are fine and so is disagreeing with them, it's when it turns into pages of bickering that I have a problem with it.

Exactly. Disagree. That's fine. But pages of arguing and trying to convince each other isn't. Aren't? What did Kryptonite say? If you can't make your point in 3 posts, move on. I should have added that it's perfectly all right (in my opinion, lol) to disagree. Respectfully.

I didn't mean here so much, lol. It's when people go on and on arguing on the threads, and they aren't going to convince each other...

There's a lot of super professional parents on here lately. As in, my pet peeve is mothers who have no tolerance for any other parenting but their way. (Hint, their way is usually parenting book 101 and that's cool, but it isn't the only way.)

Sometimes they aren't even mothers, and yet still argue theirs is the only way! Kids are all different. Things change with time. There isn't one right way.

Your argument was valid though. I should know... I have a clingy 1 yr old Image. That's great if you have a husband and family at home all day to help, but if its 24/7 with no break...it's exhausting.

Oh no - I know the exhaustion a clingy baby brings. Image hopefully you get some relief!

I must be some type of Satan. Don't you know you should carry your baby 24/7? Ugh. I'm so offended my mom isn't holding me right now! She's the worst.

I was a perfect parent too, until I became one ;) that's why a lot of us parents don't take the non parents seriously. So many of your opinions change when you have kids, and then change again when you have another.

I've been avoiding certain threads lately like the plague because people are becoming so obnoxious. It seems like there's nothing but arguing and people who think that their opinion is the end all. I get it. You think that your way is right, but I don't need 4 paragraphs about how you're right and someone else is wrong. This is a board about Youtubers, not about how you raised your children.

I'm not talking about the non parents because I personally take anyone's opinions seriously - with or without popping a kid out.

But I really don't need to read an essay about how you parented and how your kids came out, and oh, people always compliment you on your kids and how well mannered they are??? Oh let me pat your back and give you a cookie. Where's the parenting book you wrote since it must be the only way ever. Image

People still aren't grasping this isn't a site about them Image totally agree with you though.

I don't care who you are or how good of a parent you are no mother has a child who is perfect all the time. Where are the relatable stories about somebody's child behaving badly or the parent fails we all experience. I don't mind somebody bringing up parenting methods if it's relatable to the topic and then we will quickly move on. I'm gossiping while learning a thing or two at the same time. Win-win right! Except It's hard to relate/believe others when all they do is speak only of the positives.

It's just not realistic and I don't for a moment believe you raised a perfectly behaved child and never make mistakes.

I think the only time people have brought up negative things was when Calvin "stopped breathing". And people were giving them a pass for an accident happening but not for not taking him to a doctor. So a couple of stories got shared. But I think that's the only time. I know for sure I've made mistakes. What's funny to me is that a lot of moms I know (including myself) are usually putting themselves down and worrying that we're doing it wrong or failing somehow. Where's all the self doubt ?

Yesss! I was an outstanding patent, the best, until I actually had a baby. That's when I learned that mothers are not some sort of all knowing, all giving God of sorts. They are people doing that love their babies and are doing the very best they can to care for their child. I was fortunste that my first was a very happy, very easy, and adaptable baby. When I had twins 6 years later and as an experienced mother, I was stunned to learn that they were not just like their big brother! It's common sense, of course, that they are different people and it stands to reason that they would be different. Still, it came as quite the eye opener. I've learned that moms never have all the answers and need ongoing support and encouragement.

One major situation I remember is CIO. I called it cruel. Then my dd was 8 months old and only sleeping 6 hours but waking up 12 times during that 6 hours a night. After a week of modified CIO she slept fine, and has been a great sleeper ever since.

There is no "good parent" mould. Each parent and each child is soo different that you sometimes have to change your thoughts to work with the child.

Cry it out.

In theory it's leaving a baby to cry themselves to sleep, but it's usually more like leaving them, comforting them, then repeating until they are asleep.
