People being way too sensitive about "fat shaming" and saying that should be something we aren't allowed to touch.

And defense for Bryan's mother. Because we dislike Bryan he *had* to have lied about his mother bringing home crappy men. I seriously hate when people act like they know their theories are fact.

This is probably referring to me. I defend the fact that we don't know what happened because the story is snowballing every time we see her. Now she's an alcoholic.

Sorry, I have a problem with people diagnosing based on her voice and appearance (and reading into what Bryan said). We can't comment on someone being fat or looking like a pot smoker without everyone arguing, but imply someone "looks like a drinker" and it's fair game?

Someone needs to play devil's advocate. What if she's not an alcoholic, but it's out there like public record? But I've repeatedly said we don't know... not that I'm right and certain she's not.
If it were a jury, I wouldn't be able to convict.

You're not the only one. There's all kinds of speculation back and forth on that thread. And the same thing gets re-hashed every time his mom shows up. It's well-covered territory! And the whole alcoholic thing. "Oh, he wouldn't invite her if she was an alcoholic because they're having an open bar!" Not saying she is. Truthfully, only _she_ knows if she is. But that open bar stuff is complete BS. Do you not include your alcoholic mom in your wedding because there is a bar? I've been to weddings where two alcoholics were getting married and had open bars.

And the chick who keeps getting her panties in a twist can never actually spell "shaming" correctly. No such thing as "fat shamming" if you're gonna scream justice, spell it right, eh?

It's super hypocritical that we can literally tear them apart for ANYTHING, but the minute someone pokes fun at Bryan's weight, we've CROSSED THE LINE. I poke fun at him due to his poor clothing choice, his lack of healthy consciousness, and his ego making him think he's the next JB. Also the fact that he literally photoshops his fat away.
And the worst is that NOW people are saying "omg I'm fat and this is so offensive and makes me feel bad about myself." Luckily this isn't a thread about you and NO ONE was directly attacking you!

Plus there was A LOT of talk about Bryan's weight concert night, and she never said a word about it. The next day someone mentions it and all of a sudden she's upset. Where was her offence that night?

She continually strikes me as a pot stirrer. She loves to come in and defend something knowing it'll cause arguments, and then disappears and only posts "lolstupidDB" posts to appear like she isn't a total DB fan.

Not you only. I know you think that she's nicer than painted to be. But there is a good group of people who try to defend her. No one knows their family. I don't know why people pretend to.

And I agree that it snowballs like with the example of "isn't she an alcoholic?" Same as when people reference Bryan "cruising men on Craigslist/at the gym". It's all gossip. Nothing proven. Put it peeves me when people speak of it as fact and defend these types of things.

I thought there was a rule about diagnosing...then I popped into the E&J thread for the first time in months to find like six pages of people speculating about Ellie's weight and a potential eating disorder...

Pretty sure that's not only diagnosing but potentially triggering and harmful to people who do have real eating disorders. Calling her body gross, saying she's just attention seeking, etc. How is six pages of that discussion possibly allowed or even necessary?

In all fairness, I think we all agree that Ellie is going through something. But Rootbeer is right. I have had private interactions with some pretty amazing women on this board. I would hate for anyone who may be struggling/ has struggled with any type of eating disorder to be triggered by any conversations on this board.

I get that but at the same time I don't think it's her job to teach body positivity to all of her child followers. She's not their parent, she's not responsible for them. Would it be great if she took her role model position to heart? Sure. But at the end of the day it's the parents job to monitor social media and have a talk about body image with those young kids. Especially if there is an underlying psychological issue to her weight (which people seem to be sure of), because then she wouldn't be able to see or preach about it being unhealthy.

And no I didn't report it because by now the conversation has moved on, and I was just catching up on it, but if I see it again I definitely will.

As a professional in child psychology? Yes, she shouldn't be brushing it off. The situations are hardly comparable, Katie is watching Bryan brush off and ignore Oliver. Ellie is posting pictures of herself online. Ellie didn't decide to be a "role model," Katie decided to study and work in her field. I'm presuming she did because of a desire to help children. But look, she's surrounded by children and I don't see her lifting a finger to help any of them.

It's no vlogger's job to educate and parent people's children through their youtube videos. It is a medical professional's job to help those in need.

I saw Katie playing with Jackson on her vlog yesterday morning. She was showing him how to put together a road for his car. You may have missed it, but I sincerely hope his parents did not. Katie is a cinical psychologist who happens to specialize in children. If E&J or B&M feel they need help for their children, perhaps they should find a professional in their area. They are quite pricey, but it seems they have the money to afford counseling if they feel it's needed. Perhaps going to parenting classes us what would be more helpful and a lot less expensive. It seems to me that they believe all is good and well the way things are.
