Only for videos...yeah those teeth look like mine if I forget to brush. They probably also have gingivitis or the start of it, plus soda breaks down your enamel.

class, not ass

Okay, you know, I dropped out of school at 15 due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, but I just enrolled in High School. At 23 years old. A High School for adults, tuition free, in real classrooms with real teachers at my local community college. I'm set to receive my Core 40 diploma in under a year––going at my own pace, setting my own schedule... and wouldn't you know it, there's free childcare and transportation for those with low incomes. You're paired with a free life coach, you can take job interview prep classes, etc. I KNOW for a fact that there are similar programs in Ohio.

Tayler: You and I both know you read this forum obsessively. Please consider helping yourself, and I don't mean half-assing it. Seriously, look into the program. Set a good example for your kids. It's a real high school diploma, and it's not grueling like taking TASC/GED classes and having to spend 8+ hours and $800 on the test. Just a thought.

Here's a link for information. And here's a link to the different locations that provide the classes. Hell, you can take them online in select programs. But I think, and this is just my opinion, that a school environment would be good for you.

There is a 70 year old woman (awesome lady, from what I'm told!) in my program. If she can do it, so can you.

And brush your kids fucking teeth. Cavities are a pain in the ass.

The ged is honestly not a hard test. I took it, paid 50 bucks and had to be there for an hour each day 3 days in a row. The test was like 2nd grade work. In order to fail it, you would honestly need to be stupid. The math wasn't even actual math, instead it was word problems. As to the previous comment about a program. Not every state has something like that because mine doesnt. They got rid of the adult program the year before I dropped out which was about 8 years ago. The only option for receiving a high school diploma is the ged test. What I don't understand though is why her welfare is not forcing her to complete a ged. When I was getting cash assistance a few years ago, they forced me to take the ged test or they wouldn't give me anything. After that you had to be in some sort of program that helps you search for a job. You had to go to classes, build resumes and apply to a certain amount of jobs a day. You have to actually work for the money. They give you free childcare for the times you attend the class, and a bus pass or gas money if you own a car. The welfare system in her area seems to just give her shit without her doing anything which is ridiculous because she doesn't deserve it.

Also I want to add I'm assuming her County does not make her pay back any of the welfare? Mine does. When I found a job I had to make weekly payments to them paying back every dime they gave me, and if I didn't it came directly out of my tax return.

Lmao. She posted how buying this book made her broke. It costs from $12-$20. You mean you had to use money from your tattoo fund.

She'd die if she ever had to pay for a college textbook. Amazing how stuff like this, and important things for the kids are "too expensive" yet she has no problem spending money on herself.

I wish there was something like that in my area but unfortunately here everything like that stops at the age of 21 and the only option is getting your GED. GED classes are free but the test is like $80 (not sure exactly but I know it was raised)

Why the hell is this girl STILL studying for her GED?? I am no genius, I failed Algebra big time when I was in high school and I went and paid my $100 to take the test, went twice a week for a month to GED practice class where we worked on my math, I studied on my own an hour each night for that month and then I went and took the damn test. Passed. And yes I had a 2 year old at the time so I was a full time mom too as well as going to dental assisting classes. It wasn't that hard. She's just dragging it out for attention.

To be fair, she got that selfie stick from her mom for Christmas. She then bitched how that was the only Christmas present she got lol.

I know every state doesn't have it. I'm not telling you or anyone Not-Tayler to go back to High School (unless you want to, in which case I encourage anyone interested to investigate). However, there ARE programs for it in Ohio, the state she is in. That's why I provided links for Ohio adult education.

They changed the test last year and made it ridiculously difficult. I took an online practice test and cried through it because I didn't understand the material they wanted me to do. I'm not braindead, it is HARD. Ivy leaguers have tried taking it and failed. Several weeks ago I went to my local center to look at GED classes, and it was $800 to take the actual test. I could very well be wrong about the cost, but that's the quote I was given when I asked for information. As of 2014 it is approx. 7 1/2 to 8 hours long.

Sad truth is that she has great options for bettering herself in 2016 but she's not willing, so Mallabow is right––I'm talking to a brick wall.

Because she gives up the first time she encounters the tiniest problem. She has self-esteem issues and has been devalued all her life, so she doesn't believe she can do it. She has been taught/taught herself to quit everything and this is no exception. She's doing it for the wrong reasons - wanting to show off instead of actually bettering herself.

Your right, I looked it up for my state. The price did increase to 120 and it is now computer based. There was no information on the length or if it is any harder of course but I'm sure your correct. She can act like she wants to get her diploma but she's all talk. If she hasn't actually taken the initiative yet she probably never will. Wonder if she knows that if she attends college and receives loans, any excess funding will be sent to her each term. Maybe knowing she will get some money from that will motivate her! FYI tayler, the money is not free like your used to. Any excess funding sent to you STILL needs to be paid back as it is considered money your borrowing. If you didn't know what a loan was lol

Tayler is so, so, so far behind academically. I doubt Tayler has more than an 8th grade education @ most. She posted a pic of a math problem she was trying to solve, and my 4th grader is learning that now. I think she needs a LOT of help.

Not trying to make excuses, but kids now learn what they would normally have 2 grades ahead 10 years ago...said by an Elementary Ed student. I take online classes and we've all discussed how we're afraid of the Math with how it is now...but there are more ways to master it outside of books. I'm bad at Math, but I graduated.
