What do you call your SO to other people?
I call mine my 'partner' as I feel at the 30 you don't really call them a boyfriend. But then it confuses people and they think I am either lesbian or that we liver together (which we don't)
How do you refer to your SO when it comes to other people?

When introducing him I say he's my husband, but if I'm addressing him in a conversation with him and someone else I'll usually call him "dear." It's a family thing here haha

Well my SO is my fiancée and has been for a lonnnng time. We've been living together since 2009.
Sometimes I refer to him as my husband though. He might as well be...the paper just ain't signed!

Mostly by their first name. I figure that people who know that we're together know and those that don't can figure it out or ask me. XD When I speak of him while joking around with friends it's usually bae or boo.

Obviously in friend situations it's different. But when talking to a random?

If I'm with friends or family, I call him by his name, around strangers "my husband", and if I'm talking to him I call him "Corazón"

I call him my husband, even though it's awkward lol I guess it's because I'm 23, & to everyone that is super young. When we're alone, I call him "my love" or "poopy"

Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
We're married, so I call my husband just that. I can see your dilemma though... boyfriend/girlfriend sounds a bit silly when you're of a mature age. If I were you, I would stick to partner, and if people who don't know you well enough want to assume that you're a lesbian or whatever, oh well? Unless you decide to say "he" a lot, in order to correct any assumptions.

Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
I have a similar dilemma. I'm engaged but I hate the word fiancé (I don't know why I just don't like how it sounds) and I don't like to use boyfriend when I'm 27 and we have 2 kids. I usually just say partner. It seems the easiest.

It is good to know I am not the only one who finds the boyfriend/girlfriend terms weird after a certain age - thanks

Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
I've often thought to myself if I were to ever date again
(Hypothetically speaking) I wouldn't call a new significant other a boyfriend. At my age that just sounds weird lol

Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
My husband and I weren't engaged until I was 34 and he was 36. I called him my boyfriend up until then; he usually referred to me as his lady.
Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
when we are alone I call him 'honey' ) in other cases 'husband'

Re: What do you call your SO to other people?
When introducing him to people I know, I usually say "this is my husband, (name)." Addressing him in public/private is usually honey, dear, or (name).

Talking to acquaintances or coworkers, "my husband". Anyone who knows him personally, his name.
