8 Passengers | Part One
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I'm glad little Julie is taking care of herself and getting the extra food she needs by getting the school lunch as well as packed from home lunch.
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
So Ruby started "blanket training" Russel and Eve. I don't know what to think about this, it's like training a dog to stay at one place?! Why not let them play in their room with themselves? Why does it have to be a little square? And since when is a pillow fun?
Maybe it's because I've never seen quiet time like this before, but it feels so weird to me.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Did she call it blanket time? I have quiet time for my kids, even my big kids when they are off of school. It's a sanity saver for me. I didn't see a problem with how Ruby did it? The kids seemed happy enough.phie20 wrote:So Ruby started "blanket training" Russel and Eve. I don't know what to think about this, it's like training a dog to stay at one place?! Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I don't know, maybe I overheard it, english isn't my first language, sorry. My parents never called it quiet time, it was just time I spent playing alone in my room or somewhere else with toys. The weird thing to me is the fact that they have to stay on the blanket.ohmygoshyouguys wrote:Did she call it blanket time? Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I don't think she ever called it blanket time but it sure did resemble Bonnie's blanket time video. I preferred Bonnie's version better where she started with a small amounts of time in the living room and they had more toys than a pillow and books. Ruby just kind of put them in a room a shit the door on them. Eve obviously wasn't feeling it, she has clearly been messing up rubys perfect sock folding because she came out with socks on her hands. I like the idea of quiet time but the way she went about it seemed odd.
Also Shari/Eve's room seems so sad. Literally a bed filled with tons of stuffed animals and baby dolls (I'm sure Shari loves that) and a little side table. It doesn't even look like anyone lives in there let alone a 2 year old and 13 year old. And I still think the bed sharing thing is ridiculous but I won't go on about that.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Just like her her home is so sad, I have never seen such a bland lifeless home. If anyone ever told me 6 kids lived their I wouldn't believe them. Absolutely no creativity or personality in the home just things that are needed. Their life story really, only clothes and food is bought that they absolutely need.
I really hope she puts the money she makes off of YouTube into her family because their home and lives seem boring and sad!

Maybe they don't buy things because they're trying to save up for the boys' missions? It's like $10,000 each.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
You could be right that they are saving for missions but in my eyes your kids only have one childhood and it's not a long one in a typical LDS home, they are married or on missions in their teens which is sad. So I think she should be treating her family preciously as she doesn't really get long with them so scrimping on food, activities, fun and home decor all so they can preach their faith across the globe is not what I would do but hey ho... I wouldn't do half the stuff these people do!!!

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I couldn't deal with their matching tshirts for cvx. It's kinda cute on little kids but Shari (and even Chad) are definitely too old. She's lucky Shari is the person that she is, she's such a sweet girl. It was so nice of Joel to buy her a trixin tshirt and tell her how amazing she is. He's a good uncle.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I wonder if Joel and Bonnie feel sorry for Sheri? I would like to know what they say about Ruby behind closed doors.
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I bet they totally do! That's what I was thinking bout when Joel took her to buy he expensive trixin things because you know she only had a couple shirts from Ruby! Bonnie is much more reasonable with the kids toys and clothes- still being modest but allowing the kids to have more than 3-4 outfits. Her meals also seem a lot more varied than the rice and beans at Rubys. Bonnie's house also has a bit of mess, not in a bad way but in a "we have 4 little kids living here" sort of way. Meanwhile Ruby is having the kids miss their bus to stay back and clean more and that house is lacking anything personal (unless you count all the vases and ramekins that Ruby holds so close to her heart. Bonnie lets her kids be kids but Ruby runs that house with an iron fist. I'd want to splurge on my niece and nephew too if I saw them in that situation.nutbagmcgee wrote:I wonder if Joel and Bonnie feel sorry for Sheri? 8 Passengers: Part One
I agree with you. You can see how much more fun Bonnie's house is than Ruby's too. Bonnie's kids are always playing and laughing and exploring and being kids whereas Ruby's kids always look bored out of their minds, they sit quietly and read a book or they're practicing music and that's it. Obviously reading and music are great but where's the laughter and the smiles and the fun? Bonnie's house looks so much more inviting, it's got a lovely homey feel to it. Ruby's looks cold and boring.liz749 wrote:I bet they totally do! Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I'm certain that Joel and Bonnie have taken note of what life is like at Ruby's house. Joel did for Ruby's kids on Valentines Day too, remember? I can imagine wanting to kick it at Bonnie's house, she's normal and her home reflects that. I'd not want to go to Ruby's, it is just so austere. When she showed off how she'd organized her kitchen, I could hardly believe how sparse her cupboards were. She hardly had any dishes, nevermind food. It is very grim there. I have to wonder about Kevin playing the good guy role. He treats the kids whenever he feels like it while Ruby is pinching pennies. He sees what is on the dinner table and what's not. Smh
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I thought it was pretty insensitive of ruby to mention Chad's friend's father's death. If I was that friend's family, I'd be pissed that some stranger is talking about about our loved ones death to a whole bunch of people of YouTube. I get that she was trying to teach the kids a lesson and show compassion but she didn't have to go into detail like that. The first half of the video is talking about this kid's dad's death. Ugh Ruby!

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Something that bothers me about her videos is that she seems to put an act up for the camera. For example, in today's video, she had Abby film her acting down and upset. I do not think Abby took out the camera on her own to film her mother upset. It's more likely that Ruby told Abby to film her.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
More and more I get the impression that all is not what it seems in that house. I admit that I could be biased because Ruby reminds me of someone that I work with. She displays the image of the perfect wife and mother, but in reality the marriage/household is really toxic.
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Ruby, your backhanded comments about Aunt Linda at Easter were despicable. Thank your lucky stars that all of your children were born perfectly healthy. What an amazing mom pointing out others flaws (that they can't change) and teaching her children to teach people with special needs differently. She must have a sharp stick up her ass if she feels the need to constantly bully her aunt who would never be mean to anyone. What a bitch! You'll never read this because you refuse to realize people DON'T like you, but you are the farthest thing from a godly woman Ruby. Shame on you

I didn't watch can you give us a summary?DQforlife wrote:Ruby, your backhanded comments about Aunt Linda at Easter were despicable. Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
She asked Shari if she was going to do the egg hunt and Shari said she was going to help Eve. Then Ruby proceeded to sneakily film Aunt Linda and say "oh maybe you can help Aunt Linda too" and they both giggled. So unnecessary and plain rude (Yes I do have family members with special needs so I might be bias but whatever! Be a nice person, it's not that hard)nutbagmcgee wrote:I didn't watch can you give us a summary?DQforlife wrote:Ruby, your backhanded comments about Aunt Linda at Easter were despicable.
