BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I went to the same school she did. I got a psychology degree. Wanna know what happened? Employers laughed in face. That school is a complete JOKE not to mention extremely expensive! The only online schools that matter are non-profit schools. For profit schools (UoP) are really not acceptable to most employers. When I transferred so many of my credits were not even worthy, which meant I had to basically start over just to be a reputable degree. She only had an associates in what, medical coding?

My student loans are close to $100,000 by the way. That school did nothing but fuck me.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
My cousin went to that school and she has done quite well for herself, actually. She obtained her BA and Master's while her husband got his Bachelor's. They both have stable jobs in the fields they graduated in. The amount of debt they are in, though, is insane. I would never recommend anyone go to that school but it is possible to do something with your degree. They most likely have over 200,000 worth of debt. Meanwhile I got my first 2 years of schooling done at the community college and will graduate with my Bachelor's from a state uni in December with around $12,000 in student loans (A little more than necessary because I took out a little more than I needed for classes to help while my husband was in transition with jobs).

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
University of Phoenix used to have a good reputation, years ago. It's only recently that it's been shown to be more of a scam school with useless degrees. They push students to pay more than it's worth. It's a for profit school, and the tuition is ridiculous considering it now has a bad reputation. A community college degree is much more worthwhile, and much less costly. It would be okay for certificate programs, but the actual degrees are not at the level of other actual universities. I don't think it was worth it for Britney, and it definitely cost a lot for an associates degree that she didn't even need if she actually wanted to work as a medical receptionist.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I feel like Brit should have gotten a degree in accounting or something. There are tons of at home bookkeeping jobs out there. She could still be there for her kids the way she wants to.
I think it's pretty obvious that she doesn't want to work, and that's okay too. It seems she makes good money from YT. I do often wonder what her long term plans are, though. YouTube isn't going to last forever, and if she wants to keep up her current expensive lifestyle, getting a degree is her best bet. I don't know how much Ean makes now, so maybe they're doing really well. Who knows? If I were her, I would be really thinking about my future when YT isn't making people the big bucks.
Has she ever talked about any type of career goals for the future?

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I really don't think she needs to work right now. I know she doesn't do a lot each day. But the solution for that is not to go out and get a job. Youtube is her job right now and it probably pays at least as well as another job she could get. And if she couldn't work from home, she'll just end up paying for daycare for Nolan. And at this point, I wouldn't want to spend time away from Nolan if these are going to be his only active and healthy years. I think she just needs to go and do something. Take the kids to the library or the zoo or the aquarium or to a park.
Youtube won't last forever, but chances are she is going to end up having to be home with Nolan eventually. So she really wouldn't use her degree after shelling out a bunch of money.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
She said in that budget video that she won't be working till Nolan is in school and was going to start volunteering so she would get some use out of her degree but that was a year ago and I don't think she's mentioned volunteering since. Which I understand if she's been wrapped up with nolans medical stuff.yummles wrote: Has she ever talked about any type of career goals for the future?

But if she wants to have another child and then will wait till they are in school will her degree be even good by then? It will be several years old and with no experience working so I'm not sure how much luck she'll have finding a job. Here even with college education and university it's hard to get a job in the field you studied in

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I was friends with a girl who's mom got pregnant each time it was time for her to get a job (every 5 years, when the kid going to school). Her poor husband worked 3 jobs while she stayed home (she was a terrible mother tbh). She didn't want to mother, she was just lazy.kennedee74 wrote:She said in that budget video that she won't be working till Nolan is in school and was going to start volunteering so she would get some use out of her degree but that was a year ago and I don't think she's mentioned volunteering since. I just don't think Britney wants to work. I doubt she'll get a traditional job. She doesn't even have the discipline to put out youtube content on a schedule or that is innovative/original. Her shtick is her cute kids. I think so much of her identity is being a mother, she really doesn't seem to have a hobby. Or friends. So naturally without a kid in the home she's gonna want to fill the void with another.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
Speaking of which, do her kids ever read or have books? I don't think I've seen any in her videos. It is sooooo important to read to kids from a young age. I know she doesn't show all of her day or bedtime routine but I feel like she never includes clips of her reading to the kids. I really hope she does. Taking them to the library or bookstore to pick out new books and go to story time would be a great activity, and probably not too stressful. They could even pick out books at Target.literallywhat wrote: Take the kids to the library or the zoo or the aquarium or to a park.

Old vlogs have clips of her and Ean both reading to Aria, however, I don't think they feel as much of the kids' bedtime routine anymore.fossilfinger wrote:Speaking of which, do her kids ever read or have books? But considering how "advanced" Aria was with speech we can assume they are read to.

She just recently talked about Aria's favorite book, and said Nolan liked it too-- the one with the witch on a broomstick.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I think Britney is doing fine considering she just recently found out Nolan has a terminal disease. His muscles will degenerate and he will lose function and die an early death. Once Nolan hits grade school, he will be struggling and Britney absolutely needs to be full-time advocate for his physical and educational needs. So I don't think a 4 year college degree and a career path is in her future. Her career and lifework will be caring and advocating for Nolan as well as supporting Ian and her daughter through the struggles. And I believe she will do a great job. Her videos only show us brief moments of her life, but I hope the family is taking the time to have lots of fun while Nolan is still able to move. And plenty of families with disabled children go on to have more children and do fine. If Britney and Ean choose to have more kids, they will do a great job.

I don't get where suggesting she take a course equates getting a 4 year college degree. When I said take a course. I was thinking, honestly, flower arranging, knitting, cooking, anything to get her mind engaged in things other than the stress she has. I don't think she'll ever work outside the home, and that's fine. It works for her family. I do think she should develop some hobbies just for her own sanity. And I suggested reading books because that also takes you out of your situation longer than watching tv shows. It's all good.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
I have never faced the devastating news that a child of mine is going to die, and of a very difficult muscle wasting disease. So I don't think I'm in position to suggest what Britney and Ean should do to relieve the stress of the situation. As far as I'm concerned, if Britney relaxes by dying her hair a million different colors and shopping at Target, that's ok. If she needs to binge on Netflix to give her the strength to cope, then who am I to judge?gypsophila wrote:I don't get where suggesting she take a course equates getting a 4 year college degree. People on this forum continue to attack Britney for not socializing, not having hobbies, shopping too much, being interested in a new car, etc., etc without acknowledging the earthquake that just occurred in her life. Her sweet little boy is going to die an early death. How many of you have faced such a devastation?

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
Mayne on some things I agree. But I will say this. Just because her life will be hard in the future doesn't give her the right to be a bitch to people now and even later on. Also people are merely stating that she should get a hobby that is more involved to take her mind off of it vs spending money for no reason (when people feel she should save) or watching TV all day (because you can walk talk and chew bubble gum while doing so). If she took up something for example cake decorating, during those times she wouldn't be home Ean could watch them and she could be an individual person again instead of a mother/cook/etc she could focus her energy one thing that may relax her. So unless I'm wrong that's what I think people mean. And then just to be a douche I will say this is a gossip site so.. Besides people are being way more supportive than attacking for he most part. Just my two cents.olemama wrote:I have never faced the devastating news that a child of mine is going to die, and of a very difficult muscle wasting disease. I don't think anyone is meanly suggesting hobbies, lol. Getting her out of the house for an hour or two a week, meeting new people, and not isolating herself are all good things. She can still watch tv, shop and everything else.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
My brother has been disabled all his life. There's always support groups and socializing with other mothers & siblings of children with disabilities. I'm sure there's groups specifically about MD. Britney isn't alone, or doesn't have to be.
Wasting money to relieve stress isn't a healthy way to cope olemama. If you're going to transfer feeling of sadness or anxiety into something, it shouldn't be an activity like shopping. I'm sure she's not bankrupt, but if her spending increases as Nolan gets worse (which he unfortunately will), it could be a damaging 'hobby'/distraction. Shopping has a fleeting feeling of excitement. It doesn't last long.
Being around other people who know what she's going through or get into a hobby like knitting, book club, etc etc. would be a more healthy route whether Nolan had MD or not. It's good to have an interest. And she shouldn't necessarily 'distract' herself, she should still deal with her feelings whether it's through a professional or a support group.

Re: BritneyAndSoSoSo: Part 16
It is not that Britney began doing the things mentioned above after Nolan's diagnoses and people here began critising her for doing them afterwards. She has always been criticised for not socialising, not having any hobbies and shopping way too much (long before Nolan's sad diagnoses). Imo, those are not merely distractions for her; that is just the way she is I think. Britney does not enjoy/feel comfortable socialising; I don't think she has ever had any hobbies. Like some of the ppl here suggested earlier, being a mum is a big part of her personality and apart from that she is kind of dull... and she likes fancy stuff and enjoys buying them (and bitches about doing sponsorship vids to be able to afford Nolan's medical bills) as she has nothing better to do really.
It is true that most of us haven't received such sad news in our lives... however Britney is not the only person whom the sad news of Nolan only concerns... From Nolan's perspective, he has a significant muscle disease which will shorter his life span and leave him in a wheelchair after some years. During his life time he will face a lot of heath problems and will be paying a lot of hospital visits... When he is young and healthy he does deserve to explore outside and have have outdoor experiences (the kind of experiences he will not get to have once he is in a wheelchair). Imo if Britney keeps being the way she is now, Nolan will miss out a lot; he deserves more than regular Targer visits and short beach trips every summer.
