Even Jennika said she was packing a LOT less in her bag the second time. Toothbrush, hairbrush, baby going home clothes-- you don't need a lot. So yeah, Cullen can throw some things in an overnight bag for her. Brooks and Katie are what's important, not making sure she has the right eye shadow packed.

Huh? Lol, this is Katie we're talking about, she isn't concerned about that shit. I think most women would want to pack their own bag--maybe she wants particular items she believes will fit or specific tweezers, or Tucks just in case. Katie doesn't include make up as her hobby or her passion, that is someone else.

I hope they would monitor her in the hospital on bedrest while allowing her to use the bathroom only for a day or two. Just going upstairs to get inside her home can put her back in full labor. Frankly, I don't think Katie quite appreciates what bedrest is just yet. When she said "I imagine there will be some modified form of bedrest..." it was apparent to me that she isn't quite with it yet.

Children in the comments saying that brooks will be born perfectly healthy at 33 weeks is getting really annoying. Theres some even saying that shes *only* 4 weeks off full term so he'll be fine. Their parents really need to monitor what they're doing online better

Oh my goodness! Did you see that one commenter say she 35 weeks and their reasoning is that she's fine and that a pregnancy is 42 weeks? I laughed so hard because their reasoning behind it is that they were a month late and have 10 siblings so obviously they know more then the pregnant women/moms who have been there. Man, those kids need to stick to watching the lumps.

I love Katie and usually this isn't a bad thing but she definitely seems like the kind of person who has trouble just laying back and doing nothing, so I think bed rest is not going to mesh well with her! Hopefully Cullen will enforce it though

I agree that it hasn't quite set in what bedrest would mean for her. I would hope that she wouldn't disregard the doctor's orders in the slightest way. Even if they discharge her, I don't think it's a good idea for her to go home. She said her parents live closer to the hospital. I think it would be good idea for her to stay over at her parents so they'll have more help. At the very least, I think Gaines should stay with her grandparents. I think it would be hard for her to ignore Gaines if she needs something. They won't stop labor once she's at 34 weeks, right?

Both of my kids were preemies, preemie babies are so resilient. My oldest was always a 35 weeker, we were in hospital for 4 days, no NICU. My youngest was 33 weeks, she was in NICU for 10 days to get her regulating her temp and develop her sucking reflex, she was on NG feeds for 8 days.
I don't know if it's same for every hospital (I'm in Australia) but at the hospital I birthed at (leading women's and maternity hospital in Western Australia) they require babies to be on full sucking feeds, no IV and over 2kg before they can go home. So hopefully if brooks is delivered early he is a nice big boy, that makes a lot of difference Image

Katie said that if Brooks was born now through VBAC, it should be a pretty easy delivery since he is kind of small. I thought all deliveries were painful, regardless of the baby's weight. I've never had a baby, so I don't know. Can someone clear this up?

You're lucky. But I wouldn't call preemie babies "resilient". It's a lot better now than it used to be, because they can give them surfactant, but there is really no substitute for a few more weeks inside mom. I'm glad yours were ok, but definitely not everyone is.

I didn't mean that they should be forcing brooks out now, or any baby for that matter. But some babies come early no matter what you do and they're surprisingly strong and yes, resilient. Obviously it's better for the baby to stay in until full term but life isn't always what you want and babies come when they come. Doctors can't always stop labour. Some babies need to come out early to survive (obviously not talking about Katie's baby, but babies in general)
And as someone who has had to go home and leave my baby in hospital, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it's awful.

When you're in hospital in preterm labour it's comforting to hear of other people's experiences and how well their babies did.

Oh, I didn't think you meant that she should be forcing Brooks out. I think most of us here are adults and aren't in the minion "hurry up-- I want to see him!"level of immaturity. I probably shouldn't have said anything. I am very glad your babies were all right.

Can't edit, but just noticed Katie posted on Instagram a little bit ago so I guess nothing too serious must have happened? Just kind of seems like they aren't quite telling everything, not that they have to say anything of course, but I do hope she and Baby Brooks are okay.

The end of the video must have been the 5 minute contraction in the night she had.

^ Yup. He said on Twitter because of the contraction, the baby's heart rate dropped so it set off the monitor. Nurses rushed in and had to give Katie oxygen.

Cullen posted a video of Gaines on Instagram. She counted to 13 all by herself! I'm amazed at how smart she is!

Katie's facial expression after Gaines counted that high was priceless.
