Just like everyone, the "new panties" strikes me as a red flag. I'm a little disappointed in them. Also, I can totally see you recording your toddler in their underwear, but I can't say I'm very happy with them showing Gaines that way. She has no say in how it makes her feel. While I do applaud them for not showing her on the potty, if they wanted to record her for the vlog, maybe they could of put a shirt on her and let her run around the house in a shirt and panty. And recorded from the waist up.

Geez I need sleep, I meant to say that if they wanted to record her in just her underwear or taken pictures or whatever, for private use, as in not putting it out on social media or YouTube, I wouldn't see an issue. However, the tags and the video footage of her made it a little iffy for me.

I think going all the way to the tags is a bit far, like I get its a part of the video but I've never seen it mentioned on anyone else's forum either.

I put in 'new panties' anyway, all that came up (for me) were mostly Victoria's Secret Hauls, its not like searching that takes you to some deep dark side of youtube.

Putting my 2 cents in, I have nothing wrong with them showing Gaines in her underwear. Its exactly the same as if she was in a swimming costume (as someone said before) and besides, it wasn't like "Look at my topless child, gawk at her", they didn't draw attention to it, her hair covered most of her back anyway and they didn't show much more than what was seen in the swimming vlogs.

People complaining about pee on the floor? A. Its paper towels, no legitimate pee (from what I saw). B. Its a potty training video for goodness sakes, there are many other things that could have been shown.

I've seen tags brought up on Bonnie and E+Js videos when it came to bath time and those were scary. I feel like I'm somewheres in the middle on this and that's why I was interested in getting everyone's opinions

I get that they're trying to share their daily life, but new panties and potty training accidents should not be something broadcast to the world at the expense of their daughter.

I don't have cable/satellite but I know that TLC does a lot of reality shows similar to family vlogs. Do they ever show things like underwear, potty training, etc?

Cullen used "potty training", etc tags for the vlog too. I don't think it's that bad since we don't see Gaines in just the panties for very long. I saw paper towels on the floor where she had an accident, but no actual pee or poo. At least the tags and title are actually what's going on in the vlog and not click bait. It could have been far, far worse than it was. I do admit the "new panties" tag is a bit off for them.

Based on the number of views the video has had though, I don't think it's getting a lot of attention from the pedo's. And the video hasn't been embedded anywhere bad either.

This comes down I think just to our own personal views, but I and some of the people I have spoken to don't see how its at the expense of their daughter. She's at an age where I know, at least I, wouldn't be embarrassed about anything that happened at that age. Thinking about it now I would been fine if I was in Gaines' position to see if m parents posted that, no one in the comments is being rude or defamatory which would upset her in the future and things like seeing how excited she was for her new undies would make me laugh as an adult.

I totally get the potty training tags. A parent who is potty training their child will search that. But how many parents search things like "baby in the bath"? That's the difference between these tags and Jared's.

The "new panties" tag grosses me out, but I hate the word panties is general. Where I'm from panties are a sexual style of underwear, and every time I hear C&K say it about Gaines' underwear I cringe. I wouldn't call it a red flag in the Jared sense, but yes, it is an unnecessary tag. Not many parents will be searching for "new panty" videos for toddlers.

I never even thought to search YouTube for potty training videos when my kids were doing it. I guess that's why these kind of videos are weird for me. I'm skipping them.

I think they did a good job at not showing too much of MG in just her undies. I mean, its potty training boot camp and this is going to be life for the next 3 days (at least) What else was the vlog going to be about? Wasn't there only one small part of just her in her undies? The rest of the time she had on a shirt im pretty sure (i would have to go back and watch to prove that) Someone said they should have prerecorded some footage for these 3 days, I don't think they should have. They daily vlog and this is life right now, i enjoy that they keep it real and don't seem to do much of the "doing it for the content" kind of recording. The paper towels on the floor didn't bother me either. It wasn't a puddle of pee, or a pile of poop or a scene of MG dripping wet and upset. Potty training is messy! Now the "new panties" tag does kinda make me a little uncomfortable, and doesn't seem like something they would do. It does make me feel better that searching that tag doesn't bring up anything too skeevy though.. It could be worse, i can see Jared tagging it "new toddler panties" "toddler in panties" things like that. If i was MG this vlog would not embarrass me as an adult. It was cute! The interview style cracked me up and i hope the vlog today is set up the same way, Katie and her wine made me laugh.

I disagree that she would be ridiculed over it, its not overtly embarrassing, its somethings everyone has done. Even then if she was embarrassed, she has thousands of comments from people telling her how cute and funny and advanced she is. At that age (this is just from my experience) there were far more embarrassing things which out outweigh people watching two year old me celebrate pooping in a potty and I feel like it would only be embarrassing if Cullen and Katie didn't talk to her about being on youtube and made her embarrassed about it to start with, which I doubt they will. I think she would be more embarrassed over any TTC talk.

As for the address thing, I tried to find it. First then that comes up is this forum. And then even when I found an address, I found more than one and it wasn't any harder than me trying to find my old school friends current address.

I'm confused about the whole Stranger convincing your a friend of the parents thing, like I get its a risk but (I''m not in the USA) when I was in school, the whole district had police officers come to the school and tell us how people can convince us they know us and I remember doing big units of 'stranger danger' and 'don't go anywhere unless you know them and your parents told you' and staff couldn't let you leave the school unless it was with a parent, a family member they had already registered or if the parent call the school personally and told them.
Obviously Gaines and the family being on YouTube would have to make them more cautious but at the same time I think its a misconception that YouTube families are more vulnerable to this happening. I have had a cop come to me and if I wasn't older I would have honestly believed he knew me. At that age it doesn't have to be "Oh Hi, Macey Gaines, big sister to Brooks!" You can go up to a non youtube kid and say things just like "Hi, I'm a friend of your mommies. Wow! You have gotten so big, I remember when you were in her belly, what are you six or seven now?" and it has the same affect.
