I really cannot figure out how Bryan and Missy have not correlated Ollie's "-den" pattern of speech with their heavy "accent" (lack of better word) of not enunciating words properly.

At least they are actually working to provide clean water and not hiding their true intentions behind a catchy name like "Water for Life".


And to be clear, I don't completely love the idea of Christian missions in forgiven countries but I'm not totally against it either. There are a lot of charities I'd chose to donate to over this. What I don't like with Water for Life and the bump's involvement is that they literally never explained that it's not about getting clean drinking water and their viewers are way too young and naive to figure it out themselves and make an informed decision if that's the charity they want to be donating to.

They did say it was for a school/orphanage but due to the name (which is actually water of life, sorry I misstated it) a ton of people thought it was for helping to get clean water. I saw it in the comments on their videos and on the gofundme. Of course that's stupidity of the viewers part for not researching before donating but most of their viewers are kids and were only making donations (or bugging their parents about it) because they wanted the rewards (signed cards, shirts, Twitter shoutouts, Skype meetings, raffle) from the bumps. The part I don't love about it is the huge Christian ministries aspect of it was never made clear to viewers (unless you research on your one) that a lot of the funds go towards religious initiatives which have been shown to sometimes be more detrimental to people in third world countries than helpful. Bryan talked all about building all this stuff to help the people but check out their latest Facebook post. It's all about trying to spread Christianity to the Cambodian people. In my opinion, there's a big difference here.

Obviously it's not a terrible organization and I'm sure they do do some great stuff but I just think a lot of the viewers and donators were pretty unaware of the fact that a lot of the money would actually be used for "discipleship", as their website puts it. Obviously it comes down to what your personal beliefs are on faith based charities of this sort, but for me, I didn't realize it was this type of organization until doing my own research, and it's not something I'd personally support. The description the bumps gave left out some of these facts. There are lots of other campaigns and charities working in Cambodia where the money more directly benefits the people and doesn't require them to convert to any religion to receive aide. Again, not totally hating on the charity or that the bumps did something charitable but just sharing my opinion and it still felt a little disingenuous to me.

Exactly -- they talk about how they save people from poverty and "traffcing", but the fact is, that it's all about proselytizing. They even prayed at the airport before Cassie left that the money would help convert a lot of people. They may take people in and educate them, but they have to convert to stay there. And that's wrong to me. And the fact that they let people believe that it was about clean water is disingenuous at best. And Christmas is coming, so you know that they're going to be back at it. Bryan will be standing in his million dollar home talking about how Cambodia "changed" him. Bullshit.

So I never posted before but I've been reading here for a long time. I was on Instagram and apperantly my nieces husband is bryans hairstylist. He posted a short video from that night when they were shooting at their house. Bryan looks hilarious with his over the top moves lol

So, can you get us some good gossip? I know your niece's husband doesn't want to lose a regular client like Bryan, but just a little dirt would be awesome!

As someone who grew up in a few different churches, I can tell you that most mission trips and charities are complete BS (same goes for Mormon ones, but this isn't the Shaytards's post lol). There are, of course, some good ones!!! Because there are good Christians in the world who actually HELP. But most of them say "we'll help build houses" or "we'll provide clean water" or "we're building schools and hiring teachers", but all they do is go and preach. They'll build one wall of a house and spend the rest of the time handing out bibles. It's pretty gross and I'm sure Water of Life is no different. The only meaningful thing Bryan did in Cambodia was hang out with school kids, and weren't they having worship? It wasn't anything educational.

Not all Christians do. As a matter of fact, I had a professor who started out as a missionary, and couldn't bring himself to convert one tribe he met because their religion was based on a lot of the same values as Christianity. I admit he's a rare type, but not all Christians are bad, just like not all Muslims are. Or any other religion.

In any case, what really gets me in this particular case is that they didn't correct people who thought they were donating to help get clean water, or even education and opportunities for poverty-stricken people. Don't worry, I know that there are definitely good Christians and good charities. It just happens that a majority of mission trips like that are just for converting and I wish there were more of the good ones vs the bad ones.

However, a lot of people don't do what Bryan did, which was get so many people to donate a bunch of money to what they thought was a good cause. It doesn't surprise me that they weren't fully honest about it, though, because I don't think many people would be interesting in donating to something like that. It was still shitty of him, though...

Has anyone seen the movie Masterminds? It's based on a true story of a Loomis Fargo heist. The movie is a comedy and one of the thieves spends his money on a mansion, velvet Elvis painting (that happened in real life too), etc. Anyhow, the exhorbant spending habits of this one thief reminded me of the Lannings except they have YouTube money. Lol Very funny movie btw. The true story is interesting too.

I meant to add - I couldn't bear to watch yesterday's vlog with the underwater video shoot. Bryan is surrounded by way too many yes people who want his $ and are afraid to tell him his ideas/projects are ridiculous. When everyone is on the payroll you aren't always getting honesty. I just can't imagine how much $ they are blowing away so Bryan can prove his high school bullies wrong (my opinion not his words).
