Re: Steps to Wander
Please god let this baby be a girl. Kelsey will get Corbin AND a girl. The look on Missy's face will be priceless. She will be misrable the entire time and it will be glorious! I also wonder if it's really going to be a gender reveal or if it's just a shower. Someone had commented that it really wouldn't be cool if they did the gender reveal without all of K&C's family there. I agree with that totally. Missy has more than one board that shes made (i think? I would have to find it again to be sure) but one is gender revel and one is just a shower. I hope shes just throwing her a regular baby shower. Plus how is Kelsey going to know the gender then anyway? She's not going back to the Dr until she gets back home right? Wonder if Missy is "forcing" her to find out at one of those boutique ultrasound places (like the one she drug her entire family too) so she can throw the party.

I started watching them when they were rehabbing the van. Their van life videos were decent enough for me to continue watching them. To learn more about them, I started to watch their old daily vlogs, I am sure they are good people but both their old vlogs and the most recent videos are a letdown, their lives are just not interesting at enough to follow.
If Missy does have a gender reveal for them, I think it is to another try to help drive more traffic to Corbon's Youtube channel. They have more subscribers but views are way down.

Re: Steps to Wander
I missed this, but why do people think Missy has a crush on Kelsey's husband?
I couldn't imagine a woman being romantically interested in Corbin OR Bryan. Corbin is just so whiney and unintelligent. I can't believe he's in his mid-20s. True story: I call my husband "my love" and have recently tried to shorten it to just "love" because Corbin creeps me out.

Re: Steps to Wander
Mostly because with Bryan she can't be bothered to show affection/it "looks forced" (according to most here) and with Corbin when they reunited for Kelsey & Corbin's wedding she ran up to Corbin and wrapped her legs around him and hugged him.HashtagBlessed wrote:I missed this, but why do people think Missy has a crush on Kelsey's husband?

Re: Steps to Wander
I think Missy is really hoping they have a boy. She slipped up in both vlogs and said he. I, personally, think she is having a girl. I am a firm believer in the old wives tale about the heart rate, and judging by the one on the doppler, she's having a girl. Also it would be a good way to displease Missy.

Re: Steps to Wander
It must be awkward for them to go shopping with Bryan and Missy. They all grew up together but now Bryan and Missy make well into the high six figures, maybe more. Kelsey and Corbin don't have an apartment to put a crib in right now. Kelsey couldn't even buy herself maternity clothes, even though it was something she sounded excited about at one point. To have Missy buy her clothes at The Grove would just make me highly uncomfortable personally. I don't know if Missy would necessarily be jealous if they had a girl. I know Missy expressed a lot of very visible dissapoibtment at her own gender reveal. Looking at all of Missy's good fortune and stability right now, I just can't believe any one could be jealous of their friends from high school living out of a van while pregnant. But I also couldn't believe how upset she was that her healthy baby was also a boy. So, who knows? It's a weird dynamic for sure. I can't imagine what would posses someone to wrap their legs around a friend's husband during a hug, haha.

Re: Steps to Wander
I think maybe that's how Missy will console herself-- that she's got all the stuff. But seeing her past behavior with Corbin, and her obvious gender disappointment, I think she will be seething with envy if Kelsey has a girl. Look at the way she acts around Peyton. She totally acts like Peyton is her daughter-- dressing her up in princess clothes, and taking pictures at her ballet recital like Peyton is her kid and not her cousin's.HashtagBlessed wrote:It must be awkward for them to go shopping with Bryan and Missy. Re: Steps to Wander
Apologies in advance for going off tpoic. A lot of women would like to have a daughter, I'm not criticizing her for that desire. Although I do think she was very immature about the gender reveal. I always side-eye people who say they definitely want their baby to be a boy or a girl and they'll be disappointed otherwise. I think she needs to come to terms with the fact that she may never have a daughter and that's okay, she can still enjoy "girlier" things with the little girls in her family. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing craft projects or dress up with her cousin's daughter's per se. I've saved a few things from my childhood that I would like to see a future daughter play with, but I've also thought that if I don't have a daughter it would be nice to be able to give those things to a niece and share those experiences with her. I think it's perfectly normal for her to attend recitals and play with her cousin's kids. There are other things about her family dynamic that are definitely not normal.lmmomSD wrote:I think maybe that's how Missy will console herself-- that she's got all the stuff. Re: Steps to Wander
Oh, I definitely don't have a problem with someone saying they'd like a boy or girl. But what she wrote in her blog about "losing the connection" because Gabriel was a boy, and how she was SO SURE her baby was going to be a girl. Plus, after two miscarriages, you would think she would be happy with a living baby, no matter what. But this isn't Missy's thread, so I will stop going OT too.
And it isn't going to the recitals that's weird. That's great. It's taking pictures with just her and Bryan and the girls like they're her kids. Why not have the boys in the picture too? Or Jeff and Tal?

She could probably enjoy plenty of "girlier" things with the kids she had if they didn't seem so determined to enforce traditional gender roles!HashtagBlessed wrote:Apologies in advance for going off tpoic. Re: Steps to Wander
Did Corbin seriously just say that their love "inspires" others? He needs to check his ego. Just because the Daily Bumps' 12-year-old fans are telling them they're #goals or whatever doesn't mean they have to take it so seriously. He needs to stop trying to follow in Bryan and Missy's footsteps and get a career to support his child that's not YouTube.
Oh yeah, Missy could definitely enroll Ollie in ballet lessons and go to his recitals. It does seem like she includes Ollie in the same activities she does with her cousin's girls so far. The things I was specifically referencing were some things I have from my childhood that are age appropriate for like a 10 to 13-year-old, and I'm not sure that if I have a son he's going to be playing with my dollhouse or my collectible dolls at 10 or 13. Maybe. And even if one has a daughter, there's no guarantee she'll want to play with any of that stuff either. Kids are going to be who they're going to be and you just got to let them. I don't begrudge her for having a fantasy of what her family would look like, but I will criticize her for not getting over childish things like that and maturing at a reasonable age. She's older than I am and she behaves like a teenager. It is strange that Missy will be hosting their gender reveal party and she was so disappointed at her own.

Re: Steps to Wander
Exactly! Even if she has a girl, there's no guarantee that she'll have her fantasy best friend relationship. Her daughter could be a tomboy daddy's girl and have no idea why Mom resents her so much for not being a girlie girl. And an inability to let go of the fantasy smacks of immaturity.
