Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
I just listened to it on YouTube, and I have a lot of feelings as someone who has studied music for my entire life.
First off, I have never in all my years found a song that was just boring, but thank you Bryan Lanning. You did it. The song is so boring. There is no range. It's the same exact melody copied and pasted across the whole 3 minute long loop. The bridge was just an underlying melody being sung the whole time, and the structure of the song was nothing original (verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus chorus). Like the whole song was a snooze.
I couldn't even listen to the lyrics (for what little diction he managed) because the music was so boring. I actually zoned out on the lyrics, but "bow to the royals" shows how "humble" they really are. Also, do all of his songs contain "oh" or some other syllable that has no meaning because that was like this whole song.
As for his actual "singing," his voice sounds different on this track. Not in a good way. He sounds like a 14-year-old (like actually like a 14 year old. I teach children and he sounds like them). His voice sounds so much more immature in this song. Also, it's hard to really judge this song because the melody has no range. It's the same notes over and over and over again (sorry... I was really bored...i mean seriously I have composed more interesting pieces in my rudimentary music courses). I actually despised his tone. That nasal tone has to go after the age of like 10. It is just so bad. It sounds bad and it's just bad singing.
I mean I'm not the biggest fan of pop music, but I enjoy and purchase the occasional Taylor Swift or Adele, but this was just bad. He took all the bad parts of pop music and managed to put it into one song. What's left on the album if this is the single he chooses to lead with?
Sorry if this was like overly mean or anything, but I know people that actually sing and have actually taken lessons and gone to college for music that are killing themselves to get their music out there. And then you have stuff like this come out and it just grinds my gears to an extreme.

I had to, I listened to the iTunes preview of "Idaho" and as someone who hears lyrics really well, all I got from it was that they are the "Keeengs and qeeeens of Idaahooo oh oh oh oh oh" Also on iTunes, this is his description
"Bryan Lanning is an indie pop/rock singer/songwriter and one-half of an online video-blog duo with his wife Missy. Together they host the YouTube series Daily Bumps, which chronicles the young Christian couple, their ups and downs with pregnancy, and their children. For the series, Lanning composed lullabies for their sons Oliver and Finley, as well as family-oriented songs for their fans, which was released in early 2016. His debut EP, Like a Lion, is a five-song collection of uplifting and inspirational tunes. It includes the empowering and anemic single "Like a Lion" and the heartfelt "Oliver's Lullaby" a tender ode to Bryan and Missy's first child. He quickly followed the EP release with single "This is Home." - Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi"

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
I just watched the vlog and it made me so sad for their kids. What is wrong with these people, they constantly send Ollie into his play room to eat instead of having family dinners. When I first started watching them it seemed like they really cared about family and spending time with each other. Now it's off to everyone's separate corner. And Ollie probably doesn't pronounce words correctly because neither one of his parents can talk right. I cringe every time I hear them say "ea-in" I want to throat punch them.

It's really too bad that Bryan would never listen to someone like you. He's never had any vocal training and yet expects (and really believes) to become a huge star. He's not a lyricist or a musician. I'm not sure if he's writing the music for these songs. If someone else is, shame on them. Those producers are either as crazy as he is or just willing to take the money he's paying them to kiss up to him without giving him any help.usernamessuck wrote:I just listened to it on YouTube, and I have a lot of feelings as someone who has studied music for my entire life.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Has anybody ever seen their wedding website? I was looking up lyrics for this song (minions are crazy so I wouldn't be surprised) and found their wedding site. There are a lot of weird updates on it, BryBry posted their engagement and it goes in and out of first and third person. I know they were just kids, but its kind of funny to see their writing and wedding plans.
Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Triple (or was it quadruple) post, but I found a page that has lists like obituaries and stuff from Idaho, and Bryan and Missy's divorce finalization date is on there. As I was looking, I found that Bryan and Missy (the king and queen of idaho) filed for Bankruptcy in 2011... I don't know if this has been talked about (as I'm new here) But if you search either of their names all sorts of stuff comes up. It very well could be another Bryan and Melissa Lanning, but it does fit the time they got back together and lived in Idaho still
Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Its been so long since ive posted on here, ive been so busy ive stepped away from them.
But I saw the cover today, and seriously... wtf?? How much has Bryan been photo shopped!!!! That is ridiculous because it's so bloody clear and obvious he does not look like that.

I feel like even if she wanted to go back to work she couldn't, I don't think she could deal with the stress + it would ruin the whole 'prefect youtuber family' look they are going for. I think she would benefit from doing something productive that she could maintain at home, such as an etsy shop or something. I know she probably wouldn't ever do something where she needs to do work but seriously, she must be one of the most bored people in the world.
If I had to pick where she (and Bryan) could volunteer it would definitely be at a homeless shelter or the oncology floor of a hospital so they can get their heads out of their asses and see how fortunate they are! I don't know about you guys but it's almost like they are oblivious to the fact that some other people have it worse than they do.
I was going to suggest volunteering, but then I had flashbacks to the horse ranch.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Lol yeah, I just thought of her sweatshop of workers making the dream catchers and it made me think of etsy. + I saw another youtube mum start one and I think that's where it can from but lol, in reality, she barley maintains her own youtube channel, I shouldn't be asking so much of herPlaysinrain wrote:Missy opening an etsy shop?? Selling what? its not like we see her doing crafty things very often.. Stuff she bought from other people's etsy? her famous cookies? discarded hair extensions? She could turn all those unpurchased CD's her husband spent $$$$ recording into costars and sell those i guess...
I think i wouldn't laugh at that idea so hard if we saw her doing things like crocheting or quilting, some hobby she could profit from.
(I do get the premise of the comment though, Etsy is just an example of something she could busy herself with)

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Bryan talking about his 'mini documentary' on twitter... isn't that what the vlogs are for? He must be getting such an ego boost from this, all the minions freaking out over his song.
Here is the song (if I'm allowed to post this):
I thought he sounded better than before but like others have said, he sounded very young (and not in a good way). I also thought the lyrics were stupid.
