I found it disrespectful to his mom that he made a video portraying her recently deceased husband like that. Sure he might have been a horrible awful person, but he legit just died.

She is such a spoiled brat honestly...what the hell? Nobody makes Missy's cake? Only her Image

And of course Ollie is allowed to blow out Finns candle...but printheth must do it herself. Ugh!!! I can't with these people!!! Honestly I need to just stop watching them

All these comments about letting Ollie blow the candle out get on my nerves. Finn is 1 year old! Babies cannot blow candles out, if anything he would grab it and burn himself. I plan on letting my 3 year old blow his 1 year old brothers candle out on his birthday and helping him.

How many more times will Bryan mention August being his video? It's weird that he's trying to tell these more grown up stories with heavy topics but is still pandering to children with the content....of course because he knows that's the only audience he has.

I agree the video would be better with more of the teenage couple shown because it was weird and hard to follow flashing to real life Bryan and Missy to teenage B&M to the kids. But it had to be dumbed down with a silly monster and children running around so that kids would still find it interesting and not too scary. I wonder if that was even the plan to have all that included or if they wrote it all in so that they could include August in it somehow and appeal more to Bryan's audience.

I disagree. I hate when people aren't allowed to express how terrible someone was after they died just because they died.

On a separate but related note, I tend to believe Bryan in the way he's painted his childhood. Only due to the fact that his mother has access to his videos, and I would think that if he was lying and making her husband look bad without legitimacy, there would be big issues between them and.l no relationship.

So all in all, I think Bryan's step dad was a dick and happened to die. Doesn't change Bryan's tumultuous upbringing, so I don't hold it against him for telling his own history. what I do have a problem with, Bryan as an adult comes off as a douchebag, opposed to someone who has learned a lesson in life. Not thankful for where he's gotten, etc.

Exactly. The video could of been done very well if they didn't add the kids scene. The thing that I don't get either is if Bryan is referring missy as his queen because he's saved his life many times? They met when they were teenagers, not children, why is young missy wearing the crown, yet Bryan is holding it at the end? I really don't get the crown thing at all. Did missy really 'save' Bryan's life again when she stopped him from hitting his stepdad (something I also doubt happened in real life)?
Also I think it would be more realistic if their teenage selves were dressed as scene kids lol.

Sort of off topic, but also sort of on topic...someone in the comments respectfully said that, though they love Daily Bumps, they never really liked Bryan's music because it wasn't their cup of tea, but how they really like Idaho and the music video. Someone replied with:

"just wanted to let you know that you are not the best person."

Their fans really are only a bunch of kids

Also, someone said their heart was beating the whole time they were watching...idk man, might want to get that checked out. Beating hearts are rare.

I can't hate on the piano. For all of the stupid stuff that they buy, this is probably a decent investment. I really love the flagpole. My favorite gifts are sentimental and u believe it truly made her happy. They definitely made a bigger deal of Missy's birthday than Finn's 1 year! I don't know any parents that do that.

The music video for Idaho was strange. A lot of walking in slow motion. I guess the monster was his stepfather? I don't know what part people gasped at though. I didn't think there were any shocking moments. The stepfather drinking scenes were sad but not gasp worthy.

It's more than I feel badly for his mom. Screw the actual guy who was a piece a crap anyways. I just feel like his mom's feelings should be considered, you know?

^^^to avoid quote tree

I can see where you're coming from, but she was married to the drunk. I dont feel that same sympathy for her. Losing a spouse is unimaginably hard, I'm sure. But from a child's POV who felt he was abused mentally or whatever to a point that he felt his mom chose his step-dad over him... I can't fault Bryan.

ETA: I do realized my opinion is much more harsh than the avg opinion here. But also people here have a soft spot for Bryans mom, whereas I do not.

I thought the director did a decent job with the music video given that Bryan can't sing and the song is ridiculous. I'm sure Bryan didn't cut any expenses and paid a small fortune for it. I didn't quite understand why he chose to portray his abusive step-father in a music video for a song that didn't seem to be about his abusive step-father in the least? I could see where the "wolves that held us in" line could be about his stepfather, but he keeps singing about how they were "on top of the world" etc. I just think that scene was added in to be dramatic for shock value.

Exactly. Bryan had a supposed shit time growing up because of this man. However, the man is only recently deceased and he's someone Bryans mom loved, he was also a dad, son etc. Imagine how the people left behind will feel knowing he is being portrayed in that manner to be thousands of people. Didn't he come out to LA to support Bryan when he released his EP? What if he had changed his life around since Bryan was a teenager? I think it's disrespectful.

Yeah the music video definitely doesn't go with the song. The teenage M&B moment was nice and I wish it had been more about that, but of course they have to cater to their real audience.

The amount of money they spend is sickening. Why not get a small upright piano? We have one and while it doesn't sound nearly as nice as a baby grand (I would go ape shit if I could get one!) it gets the job done.

Excluding Bryan and Missy, there are 43 people listed in the credits. Gosh that video must have cost Bryan a small fortune!

I can get where they were going with it but I didn't get why they showed the kids so much (like others have said)
and it annoys me to no end how he sang his R's "Running wild and dirtywe were"

Agreed that the music video did not go with the music. But he's done a music video about them as teenagers before. I get it, teenage romance is wonderful and you have wonderful memories. How sad is life now that memories of when you were in high school is the only thing you can sing about?

I agree with whoever said that it doesn't matter if Bryan'/ stepdad died. He was still a monster to him.

Honestly he says "bow to the royals" like 40 times throughout the song. I just find it comical that they honestly think they are that important. Just because you have YouTube money doesn't make ya royalty piggy.

Had to have the kids included in the music video so that all of the 8 year olds like the song and lose their ish over the Disney channel kid.
