Especially since they're having a girl. Remember how Bryan was saying "this is going to be Missy's girl"?

I'm not even sure how they will be able to rent a place in PDX without a cosigner with just a non-reliable YT income. They really should go back to Idaho and live at home and save some REAL money before trying to live in PDX again.
I honestly think they did the road trip because they couldn't afford living in PDX to begin with! Kelsey wasn't working and I'm pretty sure Corbin wasn't either. I think they expected the road trip vlogs to go viral and make them YT stars (like DBs), but instead they had to rely on Patreon and family/DBs handouts.
Where are people getting the idea Corbin's family has a lot of money? They are both from really rural Idaho and are most likely blue collar/middle class - just like Missy and Bryan.
It also bugs me that they lived in PDX less than a year and they claim to be from Portland every chance they get. As a native Portlander, PEOPLE LIKE THAT ANNOY ME.
I'm from southern Oregon and totally understand. Oregon is great, don't get me wrong, but the hype is really annoying. It's always been great, but now hipsters love it, so it's a "thing "now. It will fade in time.

I thought it was funny that they pretend they're just so Pacific Northwest, and then they recently admitted they had never been to Seattle before. They lived in Portland for like a year before they realized they couldn't afford it as long as neither of them wanted a full-time job. They're from Idaho and he went to college in southern CA. They're ties to Portland are pretty weak for claiming to be from Portland all the time.

Especially with the way they freaked out over the thunderstorms. There are serious storms in the PNW. They're just disingenuous wannabe hipsters. I can't wait to see if they actually get the 10K for the van (I refuse to call it Wander Wagon)
I'm not going to lie, I felt badly for them in their most recent video when they giggled and said they wouldn't have room for a second bedroom in their hypothetical new place. Of course then I remembered that neither of them want a full-time job, and so this is the situation they put themselves in. But man, is that not something you think about before you procreate? Can I at least afford a second bedroom? I know small babies don't necessarily need their own room, but it's just so telling of how ill prepared and under funded they are for this huge change.
According to Kelsey, they were "not preventing" during the start of the road trip with plans to start actively "trying" towards the end of the trip if it hadn't happened already at that point. Her midwife told her to start taking the prenatal vitamins since they were planning to start trying within the year. She explains it in this video:
So I'd say it was planned in the sense that they meant to get pregnant, not in the sense that any actual thought or planning went into the the decision.
There was a big discussion about this right after they announced the pregnancy, but I have to say it: there isn't much difference between "not preventing", and "actively trying". I think they thought they were going to start making B&M kind of money and be able to buy a house or at least rent comfortably by the time the baby came. Pretty poor planning, in my book.

I agree. And regardless of whether or not there's a big distinction between "not preventing" and "trying" (I personally don't think there is one) they were still planning on being pregnant by the end of the year, so they would have been in this same situation. They're staying at an aunt and uncle's home and they're driving his parent's car. Kelsey didn't even have a health insurance plan that covered prenatal care when they stopped "preventing." I can't imagine what they're going to do when the baby is here and needs her own heath insurance and all the expenses that come with having a child. I do think that their visit with Bryan and Missy expedited things, and made them thing this would be easy guaranteed money.
And the thing is, not everyone that vlogs strikes gold. There are SO many families out there doing this, and although Kelsey and Corbin had a gimmick with the Wander Wagon, I don't think it was interesting to kids, and that's where the big money is, it seems.
It's so irresponsible of them to move to Portland, where they can't really afford to live, when they have a baby on the way. They need to realize they are going to be parents, so their dreams of being quirky, cool hipsters in PDX are OVER! They need to think about living in the suburbs and getting more for their money (and at least a two bedroom apartment). Better yet, go back to Idaho!!!!!!!! FFS, these two are so stupid!
Also, they don't have WiFi or heat (it seems) at their free house???
Why in the world did they buy two individual crabs for three people to eat for dinner? Yes, they're big crabs. But there's not enough meat on two crabs to feed three people for dinner. Most people buy one bushel (5 dozen jumbo crabs) per 8 people, or at least 7 jumbo crabs per person if nothing else is being served. I know that's like, the least weird thing about them right now, but it just bothered me.
I know they lived in a van for six months, but they complained the entire time. A one bedroom apartment with a newborn is going to be hard for them to manage. They don't have jobs in Portland, they can live where ever and do the vlogs. They might as well find a low cost of living area, like Idaho, where they can get more space for their money. Or live with family while they save for a place. I've lived in a studio apartment with my husband for six years, I'm not one of those people who thinks you need a ton of space. I'm very organized and efficient with our space, but even I know it would be far from ideal to have a baby without a nursery. We bought a two bedroom condo as our starter home. That might be too small for some people, but we're fine in smaller spaces if we can be close to the city and our jobs. I couldn't fathom choosing to have a baby in a tiny apartment when there's nothing keeping them in Portland except their own delusions. They couldn't afford Portland as a family of two adults, but they expect to be able to afford to live there once they have a baby?

This is a topic I don't think we've really addressed. Who thinks they actually enjoyed the van trip? I think Corbin may have genuinely enjoyed it, or parts of it, but not Kelsey. It seemed like they were just doing it to say they did it and they were uncomfortable and antsy to get to each of their destinations just to check them off their list, and then move onto the next one as quickly as possible. I think part of the reasons their trip vlogs were uncomfortable to watch, at least for me, is that there was no real enjoyment there, and they seemed to be faking it. Maybe that's only my perception, but I kept trying to see the positive when I watched their vlogs and I just couldn't.

Absolutely! I thought the same thing. They complained a lot about not being able to take Paris certain places or not having the money to do certain things. And i just kept thinking HOW did you have your own place before you lived in this van? If you dont have the money to go to a couple of museums along the way? Lol
I seem to remember them complaining that for a while there the van was breaking down weekly. I don't think it was in any condition to make this trip, and they probably had to throw a lot of good money after bad in order to repair it along the way and to pay for housing while the van was in the shop. Then there's the fact that they timed their pregnancy to coincide with the trip, and Kelsey said she felt sick every time they drove or lived out of the van. I don't think anything was really thought out, which is why they ended up "camping" in Walmart parking lots a lot more than actual camp sites. Plus I think Kelsey was anxious over the fact that they spent the first half of the pregnancy living this vagabond lifestyle instead of preparing to be parents. Now assuming they can find a place before she gives birth, which they kind of have to if her hospital is two hours away in Portland, she's going to be moving in her third trimester. Not ideal.
I get the feeling the baby name is going to be awful. They (especially Corbin) seem like they are trying so, so, so hard to be "unique," but they are actually just being ridiculous wannabe hipsters. A name "inspired by nature" could be almost anything....

River was on my list too. I know she mentioned liking unisex names. River tops that list.
I have a few other random names that could be on their list.
- Clementine
- Fleur
- Sparrow
- Calla
- Briar
