Re: Steps to Wander
Like other posters had said, they became more unlikeable the more vlogs they post. I guess you can only fake and act for so long. I think they actually did not want to show us the plan but just enough to put it on the title. They will save it for the future and give us videos such as, "Completed Nursery Plan!!" or "Nursery Mural Reveal!!"
Re: Steps to Wander
How the heck did they get to almost 100k subs so soon? Their vlogs are so boring. It can't be minions can it? Buying subs? Bryan helping buy some?
I really don't like the click bait or her whining all the time

Re: Steps to Wander
Lol so it looks like a viewer did try to buy the van and didnt end up paying! Im sorry but i think its hilarious. I would love to know how much they ended up selling it for on craigslist though. I doubt it was anywhere near their asking price!

I saw that. And then the person asked for a shout out in the vlog!!!! This is why you don't spend money until you have it.marshmallowfluf wrote:Lol so it looks like a viewer did try to buy the van and didnt end up paying! Im sorry but i think its hilarious. Re: Steps to Wander
Yep, looks like we were right about the bidding on the van being young "fans" who had no intention of actually paying. Sigh. These two are less than smart. All they had to do was do a little research on selling used vehicles and NOT advertise the listing to their young viewers. They also probably should have realized that $10K or whatever the final bid was is WAY too much for that vehicle. I know other posters here mentioned that other vans that were in better condition were selling for less. It's not that hard to do your research. But I'm sure they just assumed it was money in the pockets and were shocked to learn the truth. I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but I continue to be baffled by their stupidity. They seriously made plans and financial decisions off of the assumption that the van would sell for that astronomically high price?

Re: Steps to Wander
I'm sure they didn't get as much as the highest bid on eBay. I do wonder if they were relying on the eBay sale for their deposit/rent on the apartment?? He said the fraud caused a lot of problems and delays, but didn't bother to explain any of them specifically.
I also wonder when they are headed to Idaho to get their stuff. That's a terrible (and LOOOONG) drive through the a lot of areas that freeze or get snow this time of the year. I would imagine they'd be taking a U-Haul van back to PDX. That sounds awful! I'm guessing they'll go over Christmas to be more efficient with the long road trip.

Re: Steps to Wander
TBH I think they believed their "YT celebrity" status would give the van more value than it's worth as a vehicle, which is why they advertised to their viewers. That may have worked if they were actually YT celebrities, or if their subscribers were adults with cash to burn on a collector's item, essentially. That's likely why Ebay was the first choice over Craigslist.HashtagBlessed wrote:Yep, looks like we were right about the bidding on the van being young "fans" who had no intention of actually paying. Re: Steps to Wander
Oh yes, they were definitely trying to utilize their self-proclaimed YouTube fame to sell the van way above market value. The first line of the eBay description reads, "This is THE Wander Wagon. She's powerful, reliable, and somewhat famous on YouTube." It backfired. They would have been better off to go a more traditional route like us commoners, since they weren't smart enough to see the warning signs. A poster even pointed out that she was suspicious of their bidders because they didn't have any feedback history. A sensible person could have seen this coming a mile away. They bought into their own hype and thought it was in the realm of possibilities that anyone would pay $10K to own their van. I can't believe they actually made financial decisions as if it was a done deal. And Corbin is all, "Well, it's partially our fault." Haha no, it's completely your fault for spending money you don't actually have because you trusted a stranger on the internet to give you $10K for a broken down van.kittypurry wrote:TBH I think they believed their "YT celebrity" status would give the van more value than it's worth as a vehicle, which is why they advertised to their viewers. Re: Steps to Wander
Right? If that's what they were writing on the eBay listing, I wonder how honest they were when they sold it on Craig's List? At least the buyer made them take it to a mechanic. He/she should take it to their own mechanic too and should have a stipulation in the sale contract that they can back out of the deal based on the mechanic's report. That's the agreement I made when I bought a used car. Oh, the irony of Corbin complaining about a "fraud" trying to buy that piece of junk. I hope that buyer is looking for a big project or is scraping it for parts.lmmomSD wrote:"reliable"? Bahahaha. How many times did they break down? Please.

Re: Steps to Wander
He's loosing me QUICK!!! You have a BABY on the way and your gonna gripe about what you have to do to provide. I hope he gets in trouble with his boss for it (not that we'll ever know if he does.) I think he sees the Lannings and how they are raking it in through Youtube and is wondering "where's ours." Say what you want about the Lannings but they have vlogged years to build up what they're raking in now. I realize it happened rather quickly (once Ollie was few months or so l think they BEGAN gaining viewers fairly quickly) but the whole first 1.5 first years of them vlogging Bryan waited tables, did his own wedding photography business, edited the vlogs often till 1:00-2am, while Missy worked a full time her whole pregnancy with Ollie. These 2 thought they could just say "We are vloggers", put out 4-8 min dull videos, and sit back and do nothing else for income. ENTITLED!!!!HashtagBlessed wrote:Yep, that's called having a boss, Corbin. I'm assuming this is related to his remote part-time job. But he didn't really say, it could have been something else. But it definitely sounded like they were cracking down on him at his remote job and expected him to be online and complete projects, as opposed to whatever the set-up was when he was on the road.Nothankyou wrote:Wow. Corbin sounded so entitled today when he was discussing how "stressed out" he was because he has been forced into a project he didn't want to do at a bad time. Seriously if I was his employer or any potential employer that would make a really bad impression. Yes Corbin, employers expect you to work and contribute even when it's during a time of your life that is hectic. What a poor attitude he has about work. He really annoyed me today with the whining about his work project. How about being grateful that you were given a project at all!?

As a woman Kelsey's age who is also married and also has a college degree, I find it very strange that Kelsey has never spoken about a full-time job or alluded to any career aspirations or how she contributes financially since she graduated. It would make sense if Corbin made plenty to support a family, but they've always appeared to struggle financially. Kelsey mentioned selling her artwork, but she couldn't finish a piece. I have a feeling she just expects to be taken care of one way or the other, despite the fact that neither one has a work ethic. I'm still kind of shocked that Missy and Bryan were giving them a $1,000 every month during their trip. I wonder if that's continued? Missy and Bryan have more money than they know what to do with and they have zero financial literacy or experience managing large sums of money, so it makes sense that they'd just be doling it out like it grows on trees.

Re: Steps to Wander
I think they thought they could totally ride into success on B&M's coattails. And when ALL the Lumps' subscribers didn't jump on their vlog, they were surprised. I think they are still waiting for that vlogging ship to start coming in. Not very realistic. Their parents need to sit them down and tell them to wake up.

Re: Steps to Wander
I assumed at the time that Corbin was talking about something work related when he was griping about finishing a project. Now I'm wondering if the "stressful project" that was "forced" upon him was actually just getting the van sold. I think in his world, selling the van constitutes a stressful project that was forced upon him.

Re: Steps to Wander
I think Bryan and Missy probably used their clout at Fullscreen to get sponsors and ads for Kelsey and Corbin, since that seems to be where the big money lies. They've done ads for Thrive Market, Piavi Grocery Cart Bags, and that tea company recently. These are all small companies, so I doubt there's a ton of money in it right now, but I imagine the plan is to build from there. I don't think they'd be getting this kind of attention if it weren't for their connection to Bryan and Missy. From what I understand networks are typically a rip-off for smaller channels, whom they take a cut from and essentially ignore so they can focus their attention on the big money makers like Daily Bumps. I highly doubt with their work ethic that Kelsey and Corbin are reaching out to these companies and making the pitch. Fullscreen is definitely hooking them up, and probably at the behest of Bryan and Missy.

Re: Steps to Wander
I do think they'll pull in more viewers once the baby is born. Let's face it, it's not the adults that make most the vloggers videos intresting or entertaining. The older/cuter Juniper gets the more subscribers they'll get. That's probably gonna take some creativity on there part too though. I could see Kelsey becoming like "Mama Natural" and vlogging about breastfeeding, cloth diapering, making baby food organically etc. like Mama. Natural has with her channel. Missy started out that way with Ollie. Any of you remember when she sun bleached Ollie's clothe diapers on a wrack in her yard for months with Ollie???? Wow that makes me realize how much they have changed.HashtagBlessed wrote:I think Bryan and Missy probably used their clout at Fullscreen to get sponsors and ads for Kelsey and Corbin, since that seems to be where the big money lies. I think Kelsey and Corbin signed with Fullscreen when DBs were still there, but the Lannings are now repped by Maker and all that Disney money. HAHAHashtagBlessed wrote:Fullscreen is definitely hooking them up, and probably at the behest of Bryan and Missy.
As for the van being the "big project," that suddenly makes 100% sense. He doesn't have another job. If he did selling the van wouldn't have been such a desperate situation.
I wish Kelsey would STOP it with her bump updates. They are just a rehash of things that were already in the vlogs. So pointless and just an easy filler vlogs.

Ah, I didn't realize Bryan and Missy recently dumped Fullscreen. I wonder how that will affect Kelsey and Corbin's potential to attract brands now that they're with different networks.ewokfan11 wrote:I think Kelsey and Corbin signed with Fullscreen when DBs were still there, but the Lannings are now repped by Maker and all that Disney money. The bump updates repeating everything she just said in a prior video make no sense. She's acting as if these videos are on a separate channel, but they're not. Surely she has something else to say about preparing to become a parent besides rehashing her glucose test and explaining why she can continue to run for exercise?

Re: Steps to Wander
I think once they realized that they had not in fact sold the van for $10k they decided they had to take advantage of all the December deals going on with leasing offices. Moving into a new apartment requires a decent sum of money. There are application fees (usually a $100 or so for each tenant), security deposits, non-returnable pet fees, amenity fees, etc. If they were moving into my apartment complex with a dog they would need to pay $1,500 just to cover the pet fee, the security deposit, and the one time amenity fee. I think the van not selling for that high price is the reason they decided to move out of the condo and into an apartment now rather than a month from now, because leasing offices were waiving fees during the slow season when most people aren't moving. Though I'm not sure why they wouldn't have a sizable nest egg at this point considering they're living rent-free in the condo and dont have a car payment yet. I also think this means they have significantly less to put down towards a new car and that is going to affect their monthly payment, assuming they do decide that they need a vehicle.
