It's sad how much I enjoyed their videos before the pregnancy announcement compared to now. They are the most dramatic couple, the epitome of privileged brats. When Kelsey couldn't find her dress? Oh my goodness Corbin treating her like a baby about it drove me NUTS. The clickbait, Kelsey acting like a baby about literally everything (grow UP you're about to have a child), and stuffing their face with junk food from Ikea but making sure to note that it's free of GMO's. I can't even hate watch this crap.

Corbin treats Kelsey like a fragile little doll and commends her for doing the simplest thing. His coddling is annoying.Pency wrote:It's sad how much I enjoyed their videos before the pregnancy announcement compared to now. They are the most dramatic couple, the epitome of privileged brats. Re: Steps to Wander
I think for me it's their opinion on how the baby is going to fit into their lives. They are going about making decisions without taking into account that very soon they will have another human living with them. They probably think their lives will go on as planned after baby gets here, and they strike me as the type to gloss over advice that parents and other people that have raised children might give them.Playsinrain wrote:I don't get the flack they are getting for living in a small place. If they want to be in a tiny space with a baby then so be it, it's their choice, if they regret it then they have to deal with it. they haven't (that i know of) ever lived in a very large space anyway. Some people love tiny houses, hence this huge tiny house movement we are seeing now. I do think they should have a car, with a newborn i would just feel more comfortable knowing i had transportation on hand if an emergency arose.
What was scary about that road trip??? They even said it wasn't bad at all, just cold.. What the hell?

Re: Steps to Wander
That's a good point. I think they agreed to return the borrowed car after a few weeks, assuming they were going to sell the van and use the money to put a down payment on a car. But instead they chose to live in a more expensive place and they didn't have money in the budget for a car payment. I'm sure it didn't help that they had over-valued the van and thought they were going to have $10k to put towards their next vehicle. They had to be closer to where Kelsey would deliver, and maybe the timeline was sped up based on his parents needing their car back.melonyogloo wrote:I think the main reason they move to Portland so early is because Corbin needs to return his parent's car now. They originally planned to spend the holidays at the beach house and to move out by the end of January. If they indeed stayed at the beach house for free, getting free rent for the apartment in Portland really means nothing. Without the 10k windfall from the van, they can't afford to buy a used car. Without a car in Lincoln City means Kelsey cannot get to doctor appointments in Portland. They need to move to Portland asap because they NEED public transportation.ewokfan11 wrote:So they are going to spend Christmas alone in Portland? Strange they didn't wait until next weekend for the trip to Idaho to see family and get their stuff - especially if it's also Corbin's birthday. Maybe they really aren't that close to their families???
Wow, they really are leaving the car behind. Seriously, this is the worst time of the year to be carless in Portland. Cold, rain, ice, snow (a lot more than usual this year) and public transit delays. I hope they have the Trimet app and warm, waterproof clothing!!!! Honestly, I think they are going to be home a lot more now that they won't have the car.
Again, they can get away from the temptation of using a clickbait... <sigh>

WOW! Today's vlog seemed like Whine Fest 2016! FFS, it was the worst weather of the winter in the NW and they didn't expect road/traffic problems?? Do they have smartphones with weather/traffic apps?
I had to chuckle when Corbin complained about walking in the dark and rain to pick up pizza...sorry, dude, that's your life now on without a car in Portland in the winter.

He whines too much and about everything... being Cold, had to put chains on, no gloves, traffic, tires and on and on... These two snowflakes complain about anything that cause them even slight discomfort in their lives. Their parents spoiled both of them rotten. They let Kelsey's father drive to Portland to help them move despite knowing the road in between will only get worse?

Can you imagine what having a demanding infant will be like for these two? I think they think they can just shoehorn a baby into their lives. Nope. Babies come first.melonyogloo wrote:He whines too much and about everything... being Cold, had to put chains on, no gloves, traffic, tires and on and on... Re: Steps to Wander
Why didn't they just stop in Idaho at the end of their trip and pack their stuff into the Wander Wagon? Then they wouldn't have to rent a U-Haul and make a "dangerous drive". I guess maybe they didn't have enough room in the Wander Wagon, but I feel like they maybe could have worked this out a different way. Or better yet, they should have stored their stuff in Portland as they knew they were going back there instead of driving it all the way to Idaho to then drive it back to Oregon again.
They sure complain a lot every time they are on the road considering how much they brag about having conquered a cross-country road trip.

Re: Steps to Wander
It seems that their debacle could have been avoided, and their family could have been saved the inconvenience, if they had not stored their things in Idaho, or at least timed their move so that they would not be retrieving their things at the end of December. They were both unemployed and starting their channel when they moved out, so they most likely didn't have the funds for even a small storage unit in Portland. Poor planning. And then they decided to get pregnant and continue the trip until November, and then crash at the beach condo until December, hence the treacherous drive on snowy mountain roads. I don't think they once said something along the lines of, "Maybe we shouldn't have left all of our stuff at Kelsey's parents house." Or, "Maybe we should have timed this better." There's just very little self-awareness when it comes to how the decisions they make cause trouble down the road for not just them, but also for the family members who want to help them.

Re: Steps to Wander
I was thinking the same thing! My thought was get a real job and you can afford a car so you don't have to walk in the rain.ewokfan11 wrote:WOW! Today's vlog seemed like Whine Fest 2016! Which brings me to my next point. The Pacific Northwest is very wet and rainy and they plan on walking around and waiting for public transit with a baby. I understand a lot of people do it, but mostly because they financially can't maintain and operate a vehicle despite working really hard. I wouldn't willingly put myself in that situation when they are both employable.

Re: Steps to Wander
When my boyfriend and I moved into a loft together in Portland (a bit bigger than their place) we had to get a storage unit for our extra stuff. I think it was about $70 a month. It was small, but I think it could have held the belongings they took to Idaho and back. Of course, maybe even $70/month was too pricy for them??HashtagBlessed wrote:They were both unemployed and starting their channel when they moved out, so they most likely didn't have the funds for even a small storage unit in Portland.

Re: Steps to Wander
Well they made it pretty clear that they read here today. There was a statement about dropping Corbin off at his nice office and they mentioned, "yes guys, we actually have jobs, we just do most of our work remotely."
They didn't specify if they work full time or not. I'd imagine it's more contractual and not a consistent amount of work/salary since they make it seem like they are so strapped for cash. Although, for people on such a budget, they sure do eat out a lot!

Re: Steps to Wander
I still call BS. Being from Portland and knowing his very basic background there is NO WAY an employer has an office space for him sitting empty for months and months while he's out on the road with NO internet. They do read here and lie to cover up their other obvious lies.Nothankyou wrote:Well they made it pretty clear that they read here today. If they have "jobs" why are they always broke? Why didn't they move directly to PDX and get their own car - instead they've needed handouts and family help the last 6 months. People who have JOBS don't beg for Patreon donations and rely on free family cars and houses!!!!!!!!

Oops, won't let me edit. Not to be too picky, but he was off of "work" well before 4 p.m. Kinda sneaky they vlog driving toward downtown...then the next clip Corbin is suddenly done with work and they are back on the eastside getting a snack - and it's not even sunset (which is before 5 pm in PDX). Did he go to the office for 30 minutes???
Yeah, he's totally not working.

Re: Steps to Wander
I agree. I think they're probably greatly exaggerating his job by telling viewers he has a nice fancy office. Oh brother. He probably does some very basic copy editing or data entry remotely when he can, and they probably have an office space for remote employees to share if they happen to be in the office. He's certainly not working full-time and he doesn't have the education or experience to be bringing in a decent chunk of money by working remotely. It was still light when he left the "office" in the dead of winter.
A friend of mine is an actor and a temp agency set her up with a contract for a web company where she can log on and do repetitive data entry. She can work in the office or remotely, which is a good side job when you're in shows and going to auditions, but there certainly aren't any benefits and you're paid hourly just barely above minimum wage.
How do they plan to finish furnishing the apartment with no car?

Re: Steps to Wander
Oh, and crib bumpers are considered a SIDS risk and are strongly discouraged for infants by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which is pretty common knowledge for new parents? I'm hoping they plan to remove that when she's actually sleeping there.
